  1. Camping Fishing....or at least drowning worms and getting lures wet. Listening to music Playing drums NASCAR......just watching....not Driving(hehehe)
  2. If I recall right....a member on this site makes tank bibs...Possibly BEER30??If so, is there a link to see photos?? Thanks folks.
  3. Sea foam is a fuel stabalizer/cleaner. Removes varnish from carbs, removes moisture from fuel. I use it as a stabalizer when I put 'er up for the winter, then periodically through out the riding season, I put some in as a fuel system cleaner.
  4. After years of not riding ,we decided to get a good used bike.Mostly for ME to ride back and forth to work,or putz around on a nice day.We found a nice '04 VTX 1300c....well...it took a while, but my wife finnally got hooked. 1 Sunday we rode to a mall 1:15 minuites away, then Starved rock park....figured about 4 hours of seat time, then Paducah KY...6 hours away. while in the hotel she tells me she want to see the mountains and the ocean...and I said..........I think we need a bigger bike.So on the way home we stopped at a Yamaha dealer and sat on one. That was IT!!!! The wife said OH My GAWD!!!!This is SOOOOOO comfortable. We did try the Goldwing(my boss has one and let me ride it.....nahh,the wife sat on it.......NOPE.So we save our money sold the VTX ADN my fishing boat and bought an '08 RSV!!!! LOVIN' IT!!!
  5. Well...I did my first carb synch with my new Carbtune.....,and.....It was a success!!! The bike has 6300 miles on it and the carbs have never been synch'ed.What a difference...Idle is amazingly smooth and the acceleration vibration (that I thought was normal) is GONE!!!best 95 bucks I ever spent. Its like a whole new bike!! Now if only the weather would stay nice enough to RIDE IT!!! 55 degrees today...............back to the 30's tommorrow:bang head:.
  6. Thanks....I'll give it a try and hope I dont break 'em!!
  7. Yes they are.... and I have the passing lamps installed.....Don't know if that matters or not:confused24:. By the way....your articles in the tech section helped me do some mods this winter!! Thanks!!
  8. I've seen posts that say " if the wind deflectors aren't touching the shock, the brackets will break". How do I adjust them??? On the right side, I can put my finger between the rubber bumper and the shock. The left is closer...but not touching. Thanks again. you folks are the BEST!!!
  9. Scott, after a fill-up in the summer and then parking it in the garage I get a fuel smell to. I think it's the fumes escaping through the tank vent. I think that's normal.
  10. Hi all. I just synched my carbs today(first time!!) thanks to the article in the tech section!! And I was wondering if theres any way to check/adjust the Fuel mixture... The reason I ask is it "smells" rich to me at idle, maybe thats normal...I don't know.... Thanks in advance.
  11. Me and couple buddies are going on Sunday....
  12. I think the best way is to use a piece of fishing line. Put it behind the emblem and move it back and forth in a sawing action to cut through the double sided tape. Clean the tape residue off w/wd40, wash and wax......all done!!
  13. I'd LOVE to see pics!!
  14. YES!!! You ARE nuts................If you Don't get it!!!!
  15. The generator recharges the battery while driving, all circuits are wired to the battery. Therefore, as long as the bike is running, the generator is charging, and the loads you put on the battery ( as long as they're not excessive) will be taken on by the generator(alternator, for you "car" guys..like me).so , basically...as long as the current draw by your accessories are NOT more than the generator/alternator output ......you will NOT...I repeat, NOT be draining the battery. Was that too long of a description.......if so, sorry!!lol!!!hope this helps!!
  16. I have the diamond star from custom dynamics, it's about 65bucks.Just installed it last weekend, seems to work great.....
  17. Just thought of something else!!!! When the wife & I travel...we bring clothes that we dont wear, or are a little too small(). then at the end of the day we throw 'em in the trash. You lose a little wieght and/or gain a little extra space in the bags as you go.
  18. My heart goes out to you Painter......And Mike, That was a beautiful image. Three wheelers riding on the clouds...God bless.
  19. Thanks carbon one!! I think I'll splurge as well!!
  20. what's everybody using for a cupholder? I'm kinda liking the Kruzer Kaddy. Anyone got that one? And if so.....how do you like it?? Thanks
  21. Hey NeFOL, Any chance you can give me a part #,or link to the run/signal leds that you used? Thanks.
  22. I didn't see anyone else mention it, but chapstick with sunblock in it.We used it last yesr and it was a life saver!!!
  23. That's too bad..... The thing I worry about is whenever I took my bike to them for service....the first question was "did you buy the bike from us?"....I wont be able to say yes anywhere else.....does that effect service quality....or priority???
  24. WOW!! That's where I bought mine at this past spring.... I had no Idea. How did you hear about this??? I don't know about thier service dept, but I want to Rick's Yamaha of Lockport to pick up some chrome:whistling: this past week and they sell thier parts for Yamaha list as opposed to Morris who ALWAYS jacked it up.
  25. I bought an '08 last May and put 6500 miles on it this year. So far.......NO chirp,and...what I would consider "normal" whine. What is "normal"? Well.. to ME, it's the sound that(bullet proof) straight cut gears make. Can I hear it? Yea,a little, but it's not bothersom, I can't hear it with the radio on. Apparrently SOME bikes have "excessive" whine, mine does not:cool10:. I like the 5 year unlimited mileage warrenty, and in my opinion, It is the MOST COMFORTABLE ride out there......but, to each his (or her) own!!!!! Good luck!!
