I noticed in your add in the classifieds for your backrest, that you got a road sofa!! I've been seriously debating it. How do you like it??? why did you switch from stock?? Did you get the one with the Gel pad built in?? OH...and...how's your passenger like it (veeerry important question!!)Any info would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks

I am seriously considering getting the road sofa w/gel pad insert for my '08 RSV.....however, saddlemen only lists the seat for up to an '02 Venture:think:.This should work,right???Since YAMAHA hasn't changed anything on the bike in 10 years..... don't ya think???

In a week and a half, The wife (BOSS) and I are leaving Illinois......Stopping in Plattsburgh ,NY to visit some old Military friends. Then on to Maine to visit a buddy I havent seen since high school(20 + years)!!!after that.......north east coast...then a stop in D.C....then back home. Hopefully the weather will be good to us, and we will hopefully have NO problems on the road!!!pray for a safe journey for us!!!!! Thanks all. and hopefully we'll get some good pics up of the trip. Arcadia national park should be awesome!!!!

So...the owners manual says to change plugs at 8,000 miles???? Anybody else think this is rediculous,or is it just me?? Would it REALLY help me to change the plugs now, or not??What do you all do for plug replacement?

Noisy front brake and squeaky rear shock

My front brakes were noisey as all get out too....I took them off and chamfered (bevelled) the edged of the pads, Applied di-electric grease to the back side and reassemmbled.......all noise gone and ,oddly enough, the brake lever feels MUCH firmer....not sure why, but I'm not gonna argue with progress!!!! -

I had the Butler seat mod done on my seat and cannot seem to get used to it. I'm sure it's just me ,since ALOT of other people LOVE the mod!! So ...I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in trading seats??Mine's a pillow top off an '08 in perfect condition. I would preffer to trade w/someone close enogh to meet somewhere,swap seats,grab lunch and head home...

Thanks guys, I already tried the beads.....ok for a while, but then started hurting....cant afford a new seat(corbin...etc..) so thought I'd try it.Thanks for the suggestions and reviews!!

Way more knowlage on this board than I could EVER buy for 12 bucks!!!! Subscription made........not to mention talking with all the "nice" folks in the chatroom occasionally (HI Mama,Mini,Rotti,etc..). I've even stopped and met with a member in Mobile AL. (Gene....or was it Glenn???) while on a road trip!!!! 12 bucks??? I just won't buy a 12 pack tonight!!!!

Our "BIG" trip this year will be to visit some old Military friends in Plattsburgh,NY. From there we are heading to Maine...................for a LOBSTER!!!!! Then down the East coast and back home. We will be doing at least one "SHORT" trip this year.......3 -4 day trip AROUND Lake Michigan!!! Stopping at Mackinaw Island.....and various other sites!!! CAN'T FREAKIN' WAIT!!!!!!!!!!! -
YES!!!! Just buy one.... It would cost abot 100 bucks to have a dealer do it:bawling:....my carbtune was shipped to my door for about 90 bucks. Now i can check it whenever I want!! I'll probably check it at the begining of each riding season. Money well spent!!

Yea...sea foam is the name...plastered all over the red & white CAN. I get mine at Farm and Fleet.....but I think you can get it at Wal-Mart or just about any parts store -
