Thanks guys.. Milepost is ordered!! Gary, thanks for the info. I heard it was pretty expensive. I am actually planning on doing some tent camping (when the weather looks good..). Are there long stretches in between gas stations??? I've read some places that say up to 150 miles in between and others say 50 miles..... just curious what your experience was with this???

I had the pillowtop on my '08.... had very bad tailbone pain.... after the first day of our week long trip, it felt like I git hit in the tail with a BAT!! Had The Butler mod done... was different, but just didn't work for me. A TON of people love Rick's work.. so I'm sure I'm the oddball, worth a try for the money.. Traded for a stock seat... same tailbone pain.... Just bought a Saddlemen "Road sofa"... MUCH firmer... gonna take some getting used to. No 500 mile trips on it (yet) but have done some extended rides to "test" it... NO TAILBONE PAIN!!!!!! Very promising....

personally, I pulled my bike about 10 -15 feet from the garage door. Aimed them each a little lower and to the outside of the headlamp beam ( one on each side, of course). seems to have worked fine. no oncomers flashing brights and I can see great.

So I brought my RSV to the dealer for the broken windshield support (08 plenty of warranty left)... and they replace my inner and outer fairing under warranty... did a fine job. But I noticed that from lack of support and the windshield moving around, it had scratched the bottom edge of the windshield... and the chrome strip at the bottom of the windshield doesn't fit right. Sooo... I brought it back on a Saturday (45 minutes each way) and was told the warranty guy's not in today.. can you bring it back monday???? I politely explaind that would require me to take time off of work, and wasn't going to do that. so the tech left a note for the warranty guy. I just got off the phone w/him and he says " well the tech said there was a problem with the left side ( wich is crap, since the support was broken on both sides) and he has to wait to hear from YAMAHA to see if it will be covered, cause "that was a big claim.. over 1600 dollars"... is this how the program works??? I work at a Ford dealer, and WE determine if it'll be covered or not(to a point). Does this seem reasonable?? or should I start searching out another dealer to use.... Also , is there a phone number to get ahold of Yamaha if you're not satisfied with the service you recieve???

Hey folks... I want to get a reasonably sized tank bag with map window in it... Most of the ones I've found on line look HUGE. Anyone out there use one that they would recommend, and have pictures of it?? Thanks in advance!

the "hole" in the shifter is an emergency override of the shift interlock system, which, prevents you from shifting out of park unless your foot is ON the brake... actually... GOOD thinking on Ford's part (for a change)......

Actually, unplugging the o2 sensor does more than eliminate the o2 signal... it puts the fuel system in "open loop" which makes it ignore alot of things(o2 being one). I'm not saying that you DONT have an o2 problem... but if you did, your check engine light would've come on (before you unplugged it) and you'd have a code like a P0171 or a P0172. You could have a Mass air flow sensor problem, which can go bad, but still be within parameters therefore NOT turning on the check engine light.... or even a vacuum leak. So I agree withe whoever said take it to Autozone and have them pull the codes for you... just remember that you WILL have a code set because you unplugged the O2 sensor.... good luck!

Just had my inner and outer fairing replaced.. for the usual culprits. Dealer did an outstanding job, switched over light sensor and 2 switches(no extra charge). Also installed a new Saddlemen Road Sofa seat.... So far it took care of my tailbone pain.. although I seem to be feeling some OTHER pressure points settin in... maybe the "break in" period will fix that!!!!! Wish me luck!!!!
