    So ... Ive been a member for a while. Started a couple threads...but mostly stayed in the background. Well...... I put money down on my shiney new Charcoal/silver Royal star Venture!! Yippeee. I have to wait a week to pick it up...The wife & I are pretty excited, this is going to be a much nicer ride than the VTCX 1300... So now its supposed to RAIN UNTIL NEXT WEDNESDAY!!!!!! WTF!!!! Timing is everything!!! I think to pass the time I'll scrape the white of my eye with a straight pin 'till it bleeds!!!!! That'll make the time more enjoyable!!!!HA....

    Does anyone have any idea what a good "out the door" price should be for an '08 RSV? I've tried calling a few dealers and they ALL say "shop around, tell me your best price, and we'll beat it". Well..... if NOBODY will tell me a price untill I'm satnding in front of them with a big sack of money.... how do I shop around??!! Sorry for rambling, just a little frustrated... any thoughts would be helpful....thanks

    I'm planning on buying one this spring..so I'm curious of longevity(sp ?) I dont really like the looks of the goldwing.... and really....what else is out there for a touring bike in this price range?? Besides ..I absolutly love the looks of the RSV.... the wife & I checked out the RSV and the Goldwing.... our opinion was the RSV is WWAAAYYYY more comfortable than the Goldwing...so...there it is, for what it's worth!!!

    It's for ALL 2nd gen owners. Why will it be a short thread??Sorry.... I'm new here.. they've been out since '99,right? Surely some people have some miles on them....don't they??

    Well everyone....Thanks again for all the responses!! I really appreciate it. I've gotten alot of opinoins and will consider them all when deciding what to buy. The whine issue bothers me a little, but on the other hand... I don't believe I heard anyone complain of the trans or engine having catasrophic (sp?) failure.Although some rear ends were replaced, but even that was due to noise and not faiure (I think). So... in the overall scheme of things, it looks like a very reliable bike with a few noise and cosmetic issues. I think all bikes have thier own set of issues. My VTX 1300c sounds like it's going to throw a rod at low speeds and the valve train is the noisiest I've heard to date.....normal for that bike!!! So thanks again and it looks like I'll be the proud owner of an RSV sometime in the not so distant future! Be good and ride safe.

    Thanks again to everyone who responded,suprised to only hear a couple negative words.....says alot about the bike. I'm still reading & watching this post so feel free to keep responding. I'm really excited about getting an RSV:cool10:....all I gotta do now is sell my fishing boat & VTX.... Thanks again

    Hey everyone, thanks for all the responses (keep 'em comin'). You're really sealing the deal. The wifw & I took our first"long" trip(for us anyway) From Chicago,il to Paducha ,KY. we both loved it so much that we'd like to get a touring bike and be a little more comfotable. Right now we're riding an '04 VTX 1300c,nice bike....not a tourer!! Sat on a Wing(not impressed),don't want an HD. So....looks like a RSV for us!!!

    Hi everyone, new guy here. I'm VERRRYYYY interested in buying an 07 or 08 RSV. My question to you is.... After owning one and knowing what you know now about the bike (problems,reliability,qualitiy,etc...) would you do it again?? If you would/woud'nt...why/why not? I'd really like to know of any inherent problems before jumping in w/both feet (and a bunch of money) Thanks for your input everyone.
