  1. I had the Butler mod done on my seat.... It didn't work for me. I hade intense tailbone pain before AND after the Butler mod.... then I tried a saddlemen road sofa (hard as a brick)... now I have a russell daylong.... and I LOVE it!!! Rode 6500 miles in 2 weeks last year and this year we did 4300 miles in ONE week.... Minimal Tailbone discomfort!!! No discomfort on the first trip... slight discomfort on the second... maybe due to the miles Versus time issue... might be due to me losing 35 + pounds.... The seat is custom made for YOU!!!!!! I HIGHLY recommend it. That being said... for the money, try the Butler mod first!!! It works well for a LOT of the people here!!!!
  2. I hope it fixes it TOO!!! Good luck..... just in case... did you read earlier in my post how to "Gravity feed" it???? Bypass the pump???? Might wanna check it out... just in case!!!
  3. No....not "yet".... I have to call my local dealer and see if they will replace it under warrenty. I know they will if it FAILS... but not sure if they'll take my word for it that it's a pump.....
  4. Changed my fuel filter today (Thanks for the "How to" V7GOOSE!!!) Only took about 15-20 minutes.... wasn't THAT bad!!!! Bike has been running fine ....... Kinda wish it would act up again.... so I can figure out wat's going on... for SURE!!!
  5. V7Goose, Thank you so much. You all are a great help!!! Much appreciated!!! I'll get that filter changed asap.... and see what happens..... I'm kind of leaning towards a fuel pump issue, since I rode it to work today and everything was fine... but I'm due for a new filter anyway!!! Thanks again for all the help guys!!
  6. Mike, Thanks for the info! And if I'm reading it correctly.... I don't need spare hose??? Just connect the fuel filter inlet hose straight to the carb???
  7. Thanks.....I'm a little overdue.......
  8. do I have to get one from Yamaha??? Or is there an aftermarket one that is as good??? I know if it says "Yamaha" on it.... it's gonna cost about 3 times more!!!
  9. So.... what is the recommended interval for changing the fuel filter????
  10. you think that the "grade" of gas made a difference??? I'm leaning towards a fuel pump myself....
  11. I thought of that... and I'm sure I'm due for one.... but, I don't know how it would go bad then suddenly be OK for the rest of the ride home....
  12. On my last trip I put a 2 1/2 gallon gas can in the "Cooler" storage bay of my time out trailer. I hooked a rubber hose to the gas can vent nipple and drilled a hole in the back of the cooler storage area to allow for expansion from heat. It never leaked , siphoned out or expanded the can. Worked PERFECTLY!!!
  13. I don't want to "steal" this thread... but.... are there "Symptoms" to a loose steering head adjustment???? My bike feels a little "wobbly" in turns. Is this a sign if needing an adjustment???
  14. Hey Mike.... I can't seem to find a "how to"type of post on gravity feed....... can you help me out with a link???? It would be MUCH appreciated..
  15. Thanks for the info Mike!!! I'll look it up right now!!!!
