Glad to hear it was a good trip. How cold was it? Did Rebeca freeze?

Check the idle speed before Carbtune
yamahamer replied to Canuck's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I run my idle low but when I sync I hook up the carb tune then turn idle up until the rods or gauges are staying stable or not bounceing around. then sync the carbs then set my idle back to where I normaly run it. -
First short "trip"...some observations
yamahamer replied to mp66226's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
see if a member in your area has a carb tune and at least check them after you run that seafoam out. and yes 80mph in 5th will still jug a little these bikes will do 70 in 2nd I'm not saying do it but you have a rev limit. these bikes do take some getting use to and if you are luging it will hurt your MPG. -
At first I joined to learn as much as I could about the V-4. The more time I spent here the more it changed my outlook on man. The people here will give you the shirt off there back and not think twice about it. I was raised to think the same way but I have found it hard to meet REAL PEOPLE in the real world. It's easy here all you have to do is log in. I have made a few good friends here and met some great people that in the real world...it never would have happened. No one cares where you come from. Like others this place is my home away from home. I can allways talk to a friend here, I can allways find help here, and I can help others here as well. Thats priceless! THANKS FREEBIRD

This post edited by Freebird. Folks, we have adopted a ZERO policy on political threads. This was a decision voted on and adopted by the membership here by a GREAT majority long ago. We were a bit lax for a while in enforcing the rule but due to the increasing frequency of such posts, there is no more letting things slide. The moderators here typically discuss any post before deleting it but that practice has been suspended for political posts. The moderators on myself will delete any political post just as soon as we see it or it is brought to our attention. Please try to follow the few simple rules that we have here.

Swing arm bearings?
yamahamer replied to yamahamer's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Yea I was thinking if I do them i'm going to look for a place to put grease fitting's so I can grease them once a year instead of the whole pain in the butt tear down. -
How many repack your bearings every 16k miles like the manual says? I have almost 30k miles now and was thinking maybe I need to do it this winter but it looks like it's gonna be a job.

Next one will be in April the spring rally is bigger and wilder. I don't take enough pictures to do it justice......most of the time I can't find my camera. It's in Faunsdale Alabama

Springs will help if it's holding air. Sound like the float is stuck tap on the side of the bowl lightly and see if it stops.

Yamahamer, I wouldnt mind attending this rally with you , but I really love my wife, and I hate to say it, but she isnt to fond of me going to places where one must be 18, wet T shirt contests, and just knowing what the midnight "breeze" is all about ... I like living the life I presently live if you know what I mean.. I know it's not the best place for a husband but i'm lucky to have a understanding wife. We look foward to seeing you again at the next PG ride,:hihi:
