1. Thats a good point American. Makes me wonder if since this motor is completely re-designed inside from the Raider engine, could this first year with valve clearance checks being conducted be BETA TESTING? WE are putting the miles on and confirming “fleet wide” IF on future models that requirement will be removed? Just a thought.
2. I was a member for many years until I was without a bike for the last 12 years. I’ve got my new SVTC and my motorcycle vest still has the CMA patch on it. My activity in the group was out in California .
3. Wait a minute Puc. You saying FlyingFool DOESNT control the weather?? Dagnabbit! Now I need to apologize for all the PM’s asking him to change it!! Lol!
4. Like I said, it was a TEST. I wanted to know for future reference how far I could push her if I had to. It also showed me that I’ll have no problem pushing her in the twisties at a fun yet comfortable level. To me, she just seems to DIVE into the corners and then stop rock solid in the line you pick. Yamaha said it was “confidence inspiring handling”. I guess this must be what they’re referring to. Since I live in North Carolina and only 1.5 hrs from the Dragons Tail and many other world famous motorcycle roads, I’ll be going up there in the next few weeks. I’m SOOO looking forward to it! P.S. When I scraped my board, I had the suspension all the way up at 5. This definitely provides a stiffer sport suspension and greater ground clearance when riding solo. It was under THOSE conditions that I scraped, and ONLY ONCE because I did NOT want to put her over that far again!
5. I can tell you with almost 7k miles under my belt, your preaching to the choir here! Couldn’t agree more!
6. After I placed my order on Priority Delivery last July, I must have watched that video a hundred times when I found it! It really does nice sum up the SVTC riding experience.
7. I was trying to be nice. Doesn’t it stand for “Hardley Dependable”? Lol! No offense to the guys who call Yamaha’s “Rice Burners”.
8. I’m sure it is. I’ll have to try it. I was just trying to be humorous. Apparently I should just stick to my “day job” and leave the humor to people like Joe - YamahaParExellence !
9. Thats probably WHY it’s expensive, it’s at a Harley dealership. I thought you knew that HD stands for “Hundred Dolars”.
10. Consider it done Puc! God bless our grand kids. They are so precious!
11. Man does that stink! Let us know what it costs & what option you go with. I’ve heard in other threads people discussing other options besides the factory Excedra rubber.
12. How about one where all the functions worked BEFORE delivery? I love my SVTC but their release was all botched up. how about an 1800cc V4 water cooled version. Call it the WRAITH Venture! Also maybe include the V-Boost on it!
13. I have dragged mine ONCE, but it was a TEST. I wanted to find out how far I had to go before I scraped. Let me say it was beyond MY comfort level!! Won’t be cornering THAT hard for sure
14. That’s cuz Puc treats his like a gosh durn billy goat and goes off-roading on it! Anytime you’re gonna use a highway tire for motocross it’s not gonna last long!
15. Didn’t say “wheelie”, but I did pull the front end up off the concrete!
16. I can tell you Puc by watching your video that you were shifting ALL WRONG. You were running the RPM’s high and well out of the sweet spot of the peak torque range. This bike needs to be “short shifted” to take advantage of that. as far as “pulling the front up”, YES! I was in Sport Mode the other day and pulled the front OFF the ground in 1st gear from a slow roll. The pull on this bike wanes quickly when you get above 3200 RPM. The key again is short shifting.
17. Sounds like you’re pretty excited there Joe. Now, just so we’re absolutely clear with no ambiguity on your opinion, how do you REALLY feel about the SVTC?? ROFLMBO!! FYI, she’s 964 pounds not 997.
18. Has anyone checked their “trip meter” to how it’s functioning? I watch the trip meter and the mileage is clicking off a mile after only about 1/10th of a mile. Im gonna go ahead and update this weekend since it sounds like R12.0.6 is the latest and greatest. Maybe that will fix this oddity.
19. Dont get ur fur all in knots ya lop eared varmint. You don’t HAVE to read it cuz it vocally comes across ALL speakers. The written warning is in case you have the system “muted” and can’t hear.
20. Stay safe! Here’s what mine looks like in the evening. Nice little safety point is that the ALL go RED when I hit the brakes no matter what color I’m running.
21. Interesting info captdrac. Please keep us informed. Now I need to examine my VIN as well.
