Joe, I think Karl is right. Doesn't say WHEN it was the Worlds _____________. Like I said, JOE put some good effort and time into it, so I vote to let Joe go ahead and set the next target and give him a great big ATABOY!

Joe, technically, the target is "Worlds ______________". The Edisto river is the longest in North America according to Wiki. The amazon is considered black water (I had to look it up) and I am guessing that would be the worlds longest. But you did a great job to find two interesting unique things. So I will leave it up to the others, if approved, you can set a new target.

It may not be the most creative, and I don't know if its ever been done before here, but I LIKE the target Luke set, of the "Worlds ________________" (largest, best, etc) And I think there can be some interesting pictures and sites to come from it, and some of you may have already put some work into finding something, so if nobody objects, let's keep this target going for at least one more time. The worlds ____________ . Be inventive, look around and lets have fun with this, and thanks to Luke for the idea.

OK, here is a shot of me, my bike and the worlds largest covered Wagon in Lincoln, IL. Lincoln was named after, who else, Abe Lincoln, and they have a likeness on the wagon seat. There is a shot of the plaque about the display. For those wanting to see it, take the Route 121 exit (exit 126) Eastbound into lincoln off I-55 between Bloomington and Springfield. At the stop light at Lincoln Parkway (55Business) turn right or South. At the next light there is a Best Western on the right, turn right at the light and take the entrance at the bowling alley into the Best Western parking lot, you can't miss the wagon about as soon as you turn South on Lincoln Parkway.

For most pointless, can I send a shot of our bunch of old guys that meet at a local shop almost every day to talk about.....well, I can't really say.....it is a mystery, but fun!

Yep, Worlds largest catsup bottle for one. I have been by it several times. Lincoln statue in Charleston, and somewhere I have been a few times, worlds largest truck stop, I-80 in Iowa. Was just there last Monday. Largest covered wagon was in Lincoln, IL , but they moved it and I am not sure where it is in that town.

Next target, next target...got thinking cap on. How about this: You, your bike and some sort of outdoor food vendor, carnival type cart, hand cart, truck parked at work or intersection, but they have to be serving food, not just driving down the street. Bonus points if you are holding some good old vendor food in your hands during the picture. Cheese, Mustard or ketchup dripping is double bonus points. Several of our group rode 100 miles last week to a corn dog vendor that sets up shop in a parking lot he bought with outdoor tables and nice parking for when he isn't at a carnival. Best corn dogs I have had in years! This is in Mt Sterling IL (between Beardstown and Quincy right off the main intersection) if any of you live near there, be sure to stop by.

I'm looking for an alternative to my '10 Wing, won't get rid of the Wing, but the new Indian is priced low enough that it is in the running. Problem, I am near Peoria, IL and closest dealer is almost 300 miles away in Grand Rapids MI. Bummer.

OK, farmers in my area finally got in the field. My picture was taken on the side of the road as the farmer turned to get on the highway and I could not lean down to get in the mirror, but you can see part of my torso and I think arm. rules don't say you have to see the face do they? Let me know if you think this qualifies, if not, no big deal! edit...hey! I looked and my face is in the little convex mirror! 2nd edit, hey this badboy had TRIPLE wheels on all corners!

in my area fields are so wet even the best tractors would get stuck. More rain the last two days. At least the IL river is going down....slowly. Hey would it count if I got a pic of my wife on our midsize tractor cutting weeds in the pasture?

I will second (or is it third?) Plastifix. All of the Venture trunks will eventually crack like this so everyone get ready to work on them. When I read about the Plastifix, I thought it would work, but would be a LOT of work. I removed the trunk, used a dremel to open up the inside of the cracks in the trunk, that took maybe 10 minutes. My trunk had almost become three distinct pieces so there were a LOT of cracks. then I used the Plastifix as recommended, little beads of the stuff, add a little more solvent and move on to another bead. I thought it would take days to complete but about an hour or two later, it was done! Let it sit overnight, turned it over, and did the outside. On my black cherry trunk, the black Plastifix was almost invisible, and all the outside cracks were well under the trunk and outside the line of sight. The outside went just like the inside. I used no extra support like wire or fiberglass, just the Plastifix. I sold the bike last year, but for over a year of hard use, the trunk was sold as new, the cracks showed no sign of coming back. This stuff works, and isn't that expensive. And it is NOT as hard to use or time consuming as it seems. Actually a little fun chasing those little beads of stuff with the point of the needle!

Maybe its time to pick a new target, I also would be a bit nervous trying to get a troupe of Girl Scouts to pose for a picture with a motorcycle. Maybe someone with a daughter in the scouts might get this, but everyone else is probably out of the running. Consider a new target.

Looks good! And quick too. temps in the 50's here today but heavy rain most of the day. But that means when it dries out, all the salt will be gone. So I may be able to get the Wing back out this coming week. Not that I or it would melt in rain, but hey, I just got the bike cleaned up!

Chris, I am not the "decider" but I don't think that getting your own target has been done in the past, but resetting the target by the one that originally set it, is done a lot when things slow down. I agree that a tug isn't a particularly hard target, and you are right, weather hasn't been good for a lot of the country this winter. Still those in warmer climes should be able to get out and ride. I look forward to getting my bike back, but if it is nice enough, I will take the wife's Shadow Ace Tour out and look for a tug soon! Hope everyone is having a good year so far.

Wow, things have really slowed down. My Wing has been in the shop the last two weeks trying to track down a rear brake that is dragging. Stuff is moving along the Illinois, but maybe we should set a new easy target to get things moving again? Hey you warm weather types, get out and find stuff!

Just a thought, on every PayPal order I have placed, they show the delivery address before you commit to the payment. and I print out that form. If you did that, you would have proof of what it was supposed to ship to.

This was my third year for getting the flu shot, and third year for not getting (so far this year at least) a serious case of the flu. I also heard that the shot is only about 60% effective this year, but I will take those odds any day! Oh and I have never felt like I got sick off the shot. A tiny sniffle the first two years, and only a slightly sore arm for a day this year. Basically nothing and I am glad I got the shot.

Front tire is mounted backwards, probably will fail a state inspection because of that.

warmer weather promises to melt the ice from in front of my garage so I can get the bike out. Main roads are clear if salt covered, so I may wait for rain Thursday before subjecting the bike to that much salt. Should not be a problem to find a barge on the river as long as stuff is still moving south of St. Louis. Hope everyone had a good holiday season and is off to a good New Year!
