  1. Has anyone experience issues with ABS and/or traction control? For the past couple of weeks every time I ride the ABS light eventually comes on. Inconsistent on how far or how fast I have to ride before it comes on, but for sure by 10 minutes into the ride it pops on and remains so until the bike is turned off and then on again. Going to drop it off at the dealer to check it out in the near future, just hate being without it even for just a few days. I did have the rear tire replaced shortly before this started happening. 2. Took a longer look at how the shield sits on it. Agree that it would be much too high up to be useful and would probably look silly. I had a vented XXL on both my previous 2nd gens and loved it. With the adjustable hight on this one the vent shouldn't be needed. Thanks again for helping them get sorted with a prototype. Will end up helping us all. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  3. I've been waiting a long time for them to make one. Any idea if a vented shield will be an option? Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  4. Have you noticed a loss of power? I've had problems twice with second gens where a coil went bad resulting in it running on only 3 cylinders. Runs surprisingly smooth, just some loss of horse power, worse gas mileage and gas smell. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  5. Highway pegs are a foreign concept to me. Never install them because I wouldn't be able to reach them! [emoji14] Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks for chimming in. One saving grace for Yamaha option could be that being only 5'6, I'm probably shorter than you. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  7. I'm trying to decide between the Yahama heated backrest or going with third party. Leaning towards Yahama's because heated is nice and I like the way it looks more than other options I've seen. My fear is that it isn't that much taller than the standard one and I'm worry that it won't give me enough extra support to make a difference. If anyone has Yahama's one, I'd sure appreciate hearing what you think of it. Does it offer enough greater comfort to justify picking it over other options? Thanks Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk

  9. Seems plausible to me. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  10. So from my cursory read, the only change is red option is replaced with blue. Good decision in my opinion to eliminate the slowest colour [emoji14] Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  11. One day shy of a year and she had moved up to a Z400 ABS. Think this one will take longer for her to outgrow. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  12. Try getting a quote online for insurance. You will need to enter the VIN. All big online insurance sites will take the VIN and automatically enter the model info for you. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  13. Seconded. Leveling links help. I did both mods on my old RSV'S Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  14. I ran an smaller front tire for 200k miles between my 2003 and 2012 RSV's. Made a fairly decent improvement in handling. Agree with puc that you should consider getting the feel for that change prior to tackling the dragon. You are in for a great trip. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  15. Grandfather mountain... Picture of the road was taken by my wife while we were riding back down. She was terrified. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  16. Can get busy on weekends. There are a ton of great rides in the area, the dragon being just one of them. Moonshiner 28 is a must in my opinion. Take note of approximate time you ride the dragon and checkout your pictures at http://www.killboy.com Depending on how much time you have, I recommend jumping on skyline drive at North end of Shenandoah national Park and heading south that way. Skyline drive turns into the blue ridge parkway at the southern end of Shenandoah. Beautiful drive from tip of skyline until end of blue ridge. Another interesting side trip on the way down or back is grandfather mountain. Though riding the steep switchbacks to the top on your bike is not for the faint of heart. Here are a few pictures I have on my phone. Ones of us on my old 2003 RSV while riding were taken by killboy.com. Waterfall picture, if my memory serves is a great stop along moonshiner28. Of course you need to visit the tourist trap deal's gap resort for photos and tree of shame. One bit of advice, NEVER cross that centerline and watch out for idiots coming the other way that do! 17. Thanks for the well wishes. Completely agree about the damage. That's the kind of stuff I was referring to when I said that there's other things I'm following up with the shop on. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  18. She did. They have accepted she was 100% liable. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  19. Quick update. Doc says 6-8 weeks of physical therapy and I'll be as good as new; well as good as an out of shape guy my age should expect to be Shop just completed initial repair estimate for the insurance company today. Did you know that "Travel Trunk" and "high mount stop lamp" are $2,800 just for the parts?? Total estimate is just shy of $5K, but there are a couple of things I've asked the shop to take a second look at. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  20. I'm just shy of 5'7. Though warmer than my 2nd gen, heat hasn't been a problem for me. A portion of the 17K miles I put on the bike before getting taken out by that in attentive car driver were me commuting from MD into DC for work every day. The additional lowers should have come standard. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  21. I'm a big fan of Google Chromecast. Have on on every tv in my house. Basically can stream anything to it with no extra commercials etc. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  22. I have a picture of her drivers license on my phone. She was born same year as my other bike - 1981 Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  23. No idea how she could miss me stopped in 2 lanes of heavy traffic. My guess is distraction of some sort. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  24. That is a very good price. I'd be suprised if they write my bike off. Smashed up top box and a few scrapes on the side. Don't think I was pushed into car in front me hard enough to mess up the front end. No vissible damage to the car in front. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  25. I should have explained better. Was stopped in traffic and this lady rear ended me, pushed me into the car in front of me. The second picture is of my bike laying on the ground after she pulled her car off to the side of the road. The dent in her car was where it hit my top box. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
