  1. Have the dealer check the blue/white wire from the audio for grounding....if it grounds it cuts volume.
  2. Are the calipers stock Venture units?
  3. Now that the system is delinked the rear master is operating 1/2 as many pistons as before and the front twice as many as before. If the pistons were retracted for assembly, after bleeding it will take several strokes to get all the pistons back out and resting on the pad backing plates.
  4. Yes, there should be a washer between filter and spring...often they stick to filter and get lost when filter discarded.
  5. Some Ventures had a rather noisy clutch basket gear noise that may sound like the bike is revving high....just another thing comparing to another bike will verify.
  6. Typically its #1 on GeorgeS list. The sensor connector is a bullet type, remove, squeeze slightly, reattach.
  7. Don't be surprised if the amp has failed and was the cause of the starter problem is all I'm suggesting. I know the shop replaced the starter solenoid.
  8. Have you checked that audio is set to SP (speakers) and not HP (headphones). Hopefully thats all the problem is....however... As I mentioned in your other thread...the starter cranking whenever the key is on issue can originate in the audio system and perhaps something has failed there now.
  9. The 96-01 Royal Star used a different linkage system for the rear shock than the 99-up Venture. If you go to a parts diagram look up Rear Arm, and you can compare.
  10. Were your airboxes totally back together when you did the restart? All the ductwork is secure? Ventures typically don't run well with open air boxes especially on startup.
  11. Not sure on the heat...the relay coil is only energized while pushing the starter button.
  12. 1.8 ohms across the starter relay contacts?
  13. The good thing is you spotted the issue now, while its still apart.
  14. The only ones the tool was used on are now tight to rotate.
  15. Don't see mention of the model....but for Ventures... 1st gen Venture 83-93, open gas flap, remove the bolt, slide fake tank cover forward, then lift off. 2nd Gen Venture 99-up, remove seat (2 nuts underneath), lift off seat.
  16. You might check the center cover on the stator cover and the timing plug on that cover as typically both are removed to rotate engine during the valve setting procedure.
  17. 2 is fine as long as they are both being held open with the tool.
  18. Normally with clearance between shim and lobe, the buckets will rotate easily with fingertip with the tool not in place. Are the ones that barely move ones you previously depressed with the tool?
  19. As I said, the bucket just sits on top (like an inverted bucket...)
  20. Just a guess, but I would think since the bucket just sits over the valve stem that if the bucket was physically holding the valve from rising you would have valve spring pressure acting on underside of bucket and you couldn't rotate it.
  21. In particuliar....ensure the vacuum on your "reference" intake that the pressure sensor uses is reacting normal (usually #2 but might be connected to another on your machine).. You'll lose most of your timing advance if it isn't. If all good, vacuum test hose and pressure sensor.
  22. Was the engine rotated without a shim in that bucket?
