  1. I love night riding. I do a lot of night riding around central Ontario and have seen a fair share of critters large and small. As long as your not burnin up the highways and ride at the speed limt, sit back & relax, and simply enjoy. Moonlite is great for cruisin.
  2. All I wear is Cowboy Boots for riding. I too found that the Leather sole was a little slick. I took my boots to a local shoe repair guy and had him add to the sole a rubber piece over the leather for $30 and no more slip. The piece he added is thin enough you don't even see it and it actually helps protect the leather sole adding years to the life of the boots.
  3. I owned a Road Glide previous to my 07 Venture & loved it except for the Heat off the exhaust & engine. Still a nice ride though.

    SNOW

Ok I hate snow as much as the next as it interferes with my riding, If i have done this right you should see an attachment of snow in Ontario. Cheers
  5. The Wife & I quit back some 14yrs ago. Done it Cold Turkey. The wife just about drove me back to smoking but the I purchased another bike and have been good ever since. The health benefits of buying a bike are amazing and a mans life becomes peaceful once more. LOL HAHA
  6. I don't have any kids that young anymore but I think that the age limit of 14 is way too high. In our nieghborhood we have 12, 13, & 14 year old kids that are 5'10" and over 140lbs, thats adult size. I believe in safety for all with attention paid to kids. We don't want our kids hurt, but a little common sense goes a long way in safety. If you place a kid on your bike in front of you for a ride on the tank or on the rear seat when they can't reach the pegs "You simply have no sense at all". If a kid is tall enough to reach the rear footpegs comfortably and wear the proper protective gear then take them for a ride but use common sense on where you ride. In Ontario the 400 series hwy's are not the best place for kids on any bike, half the time they are no place for bikes at all with the way the cages drive on them. This new legislation will change in wording with changes to age & likely a lot of other changes.
  7. I have an 07 and my indicator has always come on shortly after i hit 1/4 tank. I have never had to switch to use my reserve even though i have gone right down into the last bar. This past Sunday, riding two up we put on 368km (228miles) and still have not gone to my reserve but i am 12km into my last bar. My next stop will be the gas station. I watch my fill ups real close as i like to keep tabs on how much fuel i put in & due to pump fixing at some stations.
  8. Yes you can upgrade to a 35w sealed beam. I have the part # somewhere. I will locate it and post it later today.

    seat removal

Wilson if its a second gen you need to remove the 2 nuts under the seat. In Canada these nuts are metric 10. In the states I would assume they are either 7/16 or 1/2. Easy to find just look under the seat. Hope that helps
  10. Hey Guys I too had problems with the magnetic ones going for their own ride while cruising down the 407. I opted for a more expensive approach going with Addidas A135 Evil Eye Glasses. they have interchangeable lenses, adjustable arms, a handy little brow sweat catcher, and the option i need is prescription lenses that snap into them so i can again see where I'm going. These are great in the rain, deflect big bugs no problem. The price is the only downfall at approx $400 (that was 2 yrs ago) maybe they came down since then. Definately worth a look.
  11. If the 08 is anything like the 07 it has ample power for two up Riding. I switched from an 1100 V-star classic so the wife could come along and so far i have no complaints. Comfort zone is excellent.
