  1. I may be whipping a dead horse here but I searched the forum with different key words to no avail. I'm wondering if anyone has put hazard light/ emergency flashers on there RSTD? If so what was the process? Kit, homemade? Difficulty?
  2. This will be a great time for anyone interested in coming to KY this year.
  3. Last Days Motorcycle Ministry is hosting Sam Childers, aka, the Machine Gun Preacher July 10 and 11 in Shelbyville, KY. We just got it confirmed.. This should be a great event. 4. Glad your back. I think we all understand that 2 wheel draw on the spirit..and sounds like God has Blessed for a reason. Prayers you wear your leather when you talk to that sister and prayers for the other. I'm up in Shelby Co.
  5. I am a ham in KY. K5CPT. I wouldn't mind seeing some photos To share or you can post it on FB market place. Found them..hehe. you are way up there close to the lakes.. I can't tell what they are by photos, but I'd guess if you advertise them locally and on FB market, you'll find a hammer that will come take them down.
  6. Prayers for your mother and family...
  7. I'd be interested in a ride down from Shelby Co.

    Props.

I realize it has been done a thousand times, but I gotta throw out some props for Mike Eykamp. I've had my '06 RSTD down for like a month now doing some primping. Got his carbs for my gal and after getting them on, finishing a few other things, I went for a short ride between the rain showers today.. Beautiful.. she is as smooth as my baby boys bottom. I finally put the V&H Monster Ovals from Christmas on and I'm telling ya this bike is sounding like a V-8 Chevy. No more pops and cackles on decel just a smooth rumbling unwind.. so Thank you .. Mike Eykamp. You may be the diamond cut guy, but you are the carburetor king. Freebird, I used the flasher mod. Took me some but I found a soldering tip for my iron that would reach in with out me melting the case, tinned the tip with some silver and it works excellent, flashes at a very acceptable rate for an all LED Lighting system.. Secondly, I tried using the freebird method for bar end weights. I found that my plugs were pressed collars with rubber insert around the screw sleeve. No spot welds. I took a cut off wheel, made a slice length ways, pried it open and they came right out. I know you Venture guys like the TD bars (Sorry Mike Eykamp). The '06 bars were honed just deep enough for the collared bushing to fit right in the open end. No fit the Flanders pull backs. I have a friend who instructs machine shop at JCTC, he took the Flanders bars, drilled my throttle mount hole and lathed the collars to fit and pressed into the new bars. Kudos David Sharer. Apologies for not taking pictures. I have custody of 4 grandchildren, including a 1yo. Have to work around them or when I can get some respid

    LED Turns

@RDawson Yeah, I had her out a time or two. just to the store and back. I did ride on the 7th about 100 miles. Now I got the carbs off, the wheels off for tires and putting some pull back bars on my 06 RSTD. Wanted to get that done sooner but just couldn't work it out. I'll be rolling again next week. I ride with Last Days MM and we got something coming every weekend in April and May. Machine Gun Preacher is gonna be in Shelbyville in July. Don't have the date handy at the moment but look us up, ride up and join in with us for the ride.

    LED Turns

Thanks Steve. I forgot I have these jumpers I already ordered from you a few months back. Doh! Thank you for the response and reminder at the same time.. Getting ready to ride pretty soon here in Kentucky. Cecil
  11. It seems I remember a post about LED Turn signal flashers vs. installing diodes. Does anyone know where this was or am I losing it? lol.. Maybe a part number or a place it was purchased for our Yama brand?
  12. Did you use the quick release from windshield? I got my batwing recently from usa trailer. Maybe im over thinking it but not quite sure how the oem mounts are supposed to fit. any advice or photos would be greatly appreciated.
  13. I wear mine on the interstate always and I wear it on roads I'm not familiar with or in a large group ride like Poker Runs.

  15. Oh Brother I am sorry to be late here. I offer you my deepest sympathy. Things happen in the world every day that we cannot understand. The death of a child is a huge hole in your heart, I can only guess. Prayers are with and I can only say that our God has a better plan. In such a case be glad that there was no pain for her. Stay strong and keep the faith. This is no comfort from any of our words here, but I pray that God takes this pain from you guides you as to why he had need of her spirit so soon.

  17. I just bought some for my 2006 RSTD thru American Side Road Cycles. Flanders Pullback Handlebars, Chrome, Metric Knurled 650-08783 Took about 3 weeks to get and bars with shipping cost me a little more than $240. Have not put them on yet. They do look great out of the box and should be good for shoulders once i have time to get them on.The handle bar mounts clamps face the front of the bike a riser will not work, I tried.. This was the only place I could find these bars and best deal I could find. Hope it helps.
  18. Id say carbs probablyneed to be rebuilt. You can try cleaning the first. For sure see if whoever installed the cones put in a restrictor plate. If not I'd go back to the factory set up for air. Sync up the carbs once you get the fuel/air straight.

  20. Who did you purchachase your batwing from. I have looked at several but they seemed small in the headlight cut and I was afraid the yamaha passing lamps my not fit. Yours looks great. Thanks for any info.
  21. This looks like the same kit I bought for my 06' RSTD with Yama Mama passing lamps. The headlight fit almost perfect into the backet and its ring, PNP.. The passing lamp pots I did have to modify, in cutting down the bolt that also holds up the lollypops, to make room for the light. the wiring is very short, so not enough room to splice length, so I bored a hole in the rear of the pots and put in a grommet to feed the wiring out. Then had to get rings cut to fit lamps because they are just the size as the pot rings, so the lamps would come out around the factory rings. But those bad boys are bright. had to passing lamps to high beam, so not to blind oncoming traffic or anyone I was following.
  22. Im in Shelby Co, Happens around here all the time. Sad that folks dont care. This situation can send a car off the road. I too have spoken to folks and they dont seem to see the issue and will swear it's not against the law..
  23. Bought my 06" RSTD with 6700 miles on it and sitting for over 2 years, in garage. That was Sept. of 2017. The carbs were full of like a green crystal something. had to rebuild and re -jet. after that, fresh oil, plugs and AF's...runs like a champ. Now have just under 15g on the odometer. Fantastic bike.
