  1. If you are looking for risers for an RSTD, as far as i know no one makes any. Reason is the clamps are front and back, not on top. Also the instrument pod is in the way. The only thing I was able to do was buy the Flanders bar which gave more height and more pull back. If you are looking for risers for an RSV, the only thing I am familiar with is the Barons spacers, made especially for the RSV.
  2. Try turning down the AUX volume knob on the top of the unit.
  3. Star Days is a yearly get together of Star Touring and Riding members and is open to the public in general. Star Days floats around the country, East, Mid country, West. In reverse order Star Days has been in Chattanoga, Tn., Longmontl, Co, St. Joe, Mo., Roanoke, Va. Star Touring and Riding has been around for about 10 yrs. I am the President of Akron Chapter 331.
  4. If you decide that it hits its rev limits a little early, check out a Dyna 3K, runs about $300. It will allow you to add about 1000 rpm before shifting. Open your air boxes for more air, and install K&N air filters. So far no carb adjust needed.
  5. I had Passing lamps installed on my 07 RSV, instead of the on/off switch on the left lamp housing, there was a push switch mounted on the fairing next to the 12V acc plug.
  6. Need more information on the lights mounted on the side reflector mounts.
  7. Kit, I forgot one other thing, while sitting in your driveway, add your present position to your favorites list and call it HOME. There is also a menu item that says to Go Home. That way no matter where you are you can always go to your favorites and Go Home. By the way you can also do this if you are staying somewhere and using it as a base, just set your base in your favorites and no matter where you are you can always get back to your base.
  8. Kit after I installed the cd on my computer, I went to Garmin web site, downloade, "Webupdater", connected my GPS to the puter and updated the GPS. I ended up with a whole new screen, which included a 360 degree compus, time, mph, elevation and accuracy in ft. As was stated before if you do any long distance traveling, MapSource comes in handy planning your trip. One other thing, if you are looking on the 450 for a particular place and you see the mileage, that mileage is as the crow flies. Once you have told the GPS to "Go To" the actual mileage will show up.
  9. Ya, me too, got the 2008 update for free.

    Jackets

I dress in layers, If it is under 50 degrees I wear a Gerbing heated jacket under my leather coat. Under 40 degrees I turn it on. Don't ride under 35 degrees, to much chance for ice.
  11. Dennis I did all of the resets, but no go. Even Garmin was stumped, so they sent me a new one. Yes I did mean the internal GPS battery went dead.
  12. Kit, I have had my Zumo 450 for about nine months on my 05 RSTD, put on 23K this summer. I hard wired the unit directly to the battery. When I bought my 07 Venture, the dealer ran the wiring through the 12V acc plug under the seat, unfortunately the fuse was blown and I wasn't aware of it. I ended up draining the GPS battery and wasn't able to get it started again. Garmin were great and replaced for free. If you hard wire you will always have to turn off the unit, but at least you won't run down the GPS battery. The Zumo doesn't draw that much juice, I have left it on for a couple of hours and had no problems starting the bike
  13. One other thing you could look at is changing your ignition module to a Dyna 3000, it allows you to by pass the rev limiter and get more out of engine
