10 days is good! Congratulations! Hang in there...Any day now you will suddenly notice the smell of a tree you just passed or a fireplace...miles away. I am just wondering.......It seems to me most people on this site are , shall we say, "old enough" to have seen at least 2 - perhaps 3 cycles of economic woes. I don't know about you but I am trying to keep a positive attitude. We have always come back strong before, and I am sure that this time will be no exception. I realize that being retired perhaps my problems are not as acute, but I really don't see this as being any different than the late 70's when unemployment was very high, the cost of living was leaping, etc.... I know when it's your job that was eliminated then all statistics are meaningless.... But I also know from personal experience that sometimes very ugly clouds hide the brightest sunshine...Sometimes we hang on to that job, house, city, car... yes even spouse - whatever...not because things are good, but because we are all resistant to change (and I don't mean that in the now popular way) . And I personally remember at least three moments in life very similar to what we are all now struggling with which forced me to make changes I was very uncomfortable with.....But looking back now - I have no idea how I would have survived without them.....Life just wouldn't have been the same..... So I wonder...how many of you are also looking at this in a positive way and remembering that the back-side of problems, in the rear view mirror, so to speak, can be very different and practically always beneficial indeed. Just curious.....

Is it safe to use on the bike? Or will it cause crazing? And how does one know?

Mike, can you explain why the K&N filters are needed with the chrome covers if they will work with the regulars? And have you actually looked into chroming the originals? What do you have to do to prep them?

Question for those of you in wetter climates; Costco is advertising a four applicator pack for a windshield water beader and repellent called Aquapel. Does any one use this? Any good? Safe on the shield?

I think the hold was placed because of the unanswered summons to the suit, not because of the 8mph over the limit. Having been on the other side of the situation with someone damaging me and then leaving town to parts unknown leaving me stuck with the bills and the pain, I find it hard to sympathize...... 27 years does seem like a long time, but my knee still hurts with the weather.....and it's been longer than that. If I had a way to find them..I would. There is no statute of limitations on civil responsibility.

Nah...Old phone and brand new phone - old software and latest software. Mine and everyone around here. Same thing on all fronts, echoes crackles blankouts. Not a system for listening to music or intercom....Maybe in a few years.

Thanks for the photos...Just curious, what's at the end of that second wire next to the intercom wire? Also, I am not sure I would want any chrome on the tank...During my last trip I had several days where the sun reflecting off the gas cap made a series of three flying saucers constantly floating across my windshield - it got so annoying I invested $18 in a leather gas cap cover at the nearest dealer. Even on cloudy days it seemed to be a problem...I guess once you notice it, it just starts to annoy you all the time.

Yeah, I tried that too and even though disconnects are reduced, the echoes, fades and mutes are not. Overall,....still crap. Wouldn't want to depend on it!

To each his own, I guess, .....I have the standard RSV system , satellite radio, Zumo 550 and Buddy Rich cable . Everything works OK but the weakest link is the Blue Tooth...Miserable system, works only50% of the time, echoes , noises, disconnects....Just good enough to know you had a phone call and sometimes even to let someone know that you heard them! And it's not just on the bike, same thing in the cars. And it isn't my phones or just on my unit. All of my friends who use it have the same problems. Perhaps it's the price of living in a large metropolitan area and maybe it works better out in the open country with little interference, but in a big city, it's crap! I would never want to depend on it for either communications or music:2cents:

I am surprised that such a silly idea even brought so many responses. I've been downshifting everything that could be shifted for about 50 years!!! I think that not doing it is irresponsible and unsafe.

Just stay away from Baggers , it has nothing to do with touring and is exclusively HD . Pure weird stuff with the usual beer-bellied, unhelmeted grubolas.... Would'nt carpet a parokeet cage with it.

Actually, that's quite realistic. Twins tend to have lots of low torque and less high rev HP. Problem is, they also have lots more vibration. And having gotten used to the relative quiet and lack of vibration on the RSV I don't think I would go back to a twin.
