  1. I may be wrong , but I thought most states required sufficient height to reach the pegs.... But even if the law doesn't require it.....Wouldn't want my 7 year old grand-kid on a bike..... There is a proper time for everything.......
  2. Just got my Motorcycle Cruiser Mag. Looks like they want to survive after all! They dumped Billy boy Bartells as editor....I wonder what took them that long, that rude little creep alienated a lot of subscribers I would suspect.....Too late for me though, I won't be renewing. I notice all that male potency and enlargement advertising has disappeared with him as well!!! Good going, even if too late.:clap2:
  3. If you have kids or cats , you are right. If you don't , she is definitely right. But in either case; Those of us in Sunny California can tell it's winter and the weather is crappy where most of you are. Tomorrow while I am riding in the sunshine I will think about all of you....rearranging your toilet paper, back and forth, back and forth.........:crackup:
  4. But there is a reason ..... It appears this guy was serving a life sentence when he got "early release"....Why? The judge who turned him loose is the one who should be tried for 4 murders and serve the rest of his life !!!
  5. Say, what's that Soviet star on your ignition?
  6. I thought very little of it...In fact I think so little of that mag-rag since the Bartell hooligan took over that I am not going to renew my subscription until they dump his sorry ass...... Makes little sense to have touring cruisers reviewed by devoted rice rocket riders who express their total disdain for cruisers before they even start. This magazine has become worthless....It has little substance and is now filled with adds for idiotic male enhancement products - I guess Billy knows his following. He is turning the magazine into a typical Harley rag with the same old scrap-iron being peddled at exorbitant prices in wild flame colors - sorry, but that's old stuff...real old !
  7. What a strange thread....Around here we ride all year long !!! :sun:
  8. I wouldn't think it's the bearing unless you get some movement when you take the wheel with both hands and try to rock. Also bearings spin and therefore squeak would occur at intervals but not in same place....It really sounds like your brake.
  9. Being on the West coast I'm a bit far to meet most of you folks....But you seem like a fine group and your knowledge of the Venture is impressive....So I intend to stick around....
  10. I could tell you who wants it banned but then the thread would be locked and deleted......
  11. Maybe that's why it's called "aspire"...It aspires to be a laptop.
  12. That's cause the sections are probably bonded for the commercial and don't turn and collapse when you least need them to...
  13. What? That I am an old fart or that I am opinionated - or both?
  14. Why???? Don't just say something.....Give us a reason for that strange statement !!!!!! My worst nightmare is to get whacked by some uninsured flake who owns nothing but the skin on his sorry ass yet doesn't think twice about flying down the road while legally loaded !!!!
  15. Why amazing? Old farts tend to be opinionated.....
  16. Sounds like a major misinterpretation of what was said! I believe the objection was with the design of that primitive motor - not the method of isolation of it's horrible vibrations from the frame...
  17. Of course, you are assuming that those things are desirable.... Personally, I am just fine without the injection (one less problem) and as to the CD player - don't have one, don't want one and wouldn't take it if you gave it to me !!!!! On the other hand, I can do without the HD dealer arrogance and the fact that I would be lost in a crowd of identical bikes on every bock !!!! You have to put a marker on yours just to find it in a parking lot !!
  18. Well, I paid 13800 for my new 07 RSMV.... That makes it 9200 less than the 23000 that Freebird estimates and as far as I can remember (simmilarly equipped ) it was closer to 26000! So I would have to have been insane to get an HD !!!! And then there is that minor problem of vastly unequal warranties and the shedding parts.....
  19. Well....If this is a bike you bought new, I would do something about the front tire.... On the other hand, if you bought it used, I would take a real critical look at that fork - perhaps damaged from a front end collision - sometimes it doesn't take much. The handlebar has nothing to do with it since one doesn't judge tracking by the handlebar position. On the other hand, the left lean could just be a political statement....
  20. What he said !!:crackup::crackup::crackup:
  21. I agree with you 100% Farrah was a nice woman !!! Jackson ...not so nice ...even worse cause he looked like a white Tinkerbell......
  22. To make a long story short; Yesterday I received an e-mail from Garmin telling me map updates were available....When I went on their site it offered an update disk for $69. or a lifetime update download service for $119. Sounded like a good deal so I took it... The download took over 6 hours on a high speed DSL Then I tried to open the downloaded file which proceeded to grind in the background for 45 minutes totally blocking all attempts to stop it - I thought I had just gotten a virus !!!! I ended up doing a cold boot by turning off the power !!!! After another round of the same I put the download in the trash and deleted it. I then sent 2 e-mails to Garmin explaining the problem and asking for an immediate refund - both as a reply to the purchase confirmation and on the "my garmin" site as a customer service complaint. Today, having received no reply, I called them -the call took well over an hour!!! In the end, the best they would do is promise a refund in "two or three billing cycles" !!!!!!! Needless to say, I unloaded on them the problem of constant freeze-ups and resets by battery removal !!! NO SOLUTION !!!! I asked how they could expect someone to dedicate 6 hour dowloads two or three times a year - NO ANSWER, but the person confirmed that just to open that file on Windows Vista it would take over 1/2 hour!!!! Wow!!!! on mine , it went past 45 minutes and was still going, and I have a fast machine !!!!! So folks, I don't know about you- but I am through throwing money at Garmin and tollerating the bad service and nonexistant response. I don't do business with companies that don't care for their customers.... Next time it's another brand.......
  23. Sorry to hear that !! Glad you are OK....Did you at least get the venison?? If you kill it you gotta eat it.......
  24. Wow ! I'm really impressed ! How many square feet is it ? Is this a primary home or a "cabin" ? Looks super!
