Got to 90, unintentionally, a couple of times 2up. It wanted to go faster.... I didn't......At my age time goes by too fast as it is!

Thanks, Ill have to give it a try. Around here on CB it's mostly dead scilence except for the cursing mexicans.

Brake Light Always ON!!
az1103 replied to Semi-retired's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
It's just a micro-switch, and just because it's clicking don't assume that it's not stuck inside. Just do continuity checks at both switches - one of them is bad. -
With a trunk behind, a driver back-rest in front and surrounded by armrests the passenger is trapped in a very precarious position in case of any unfortunate occurence. I love my wife, I don't think I want her trapped back there! :confused24:No coffe holders, no TV, no fridge..... I know, such hardships, but that's why it's called motorcycling rather than couch-potatoing.

That's all nice if money is no object. But lowering the front costs nothing and does a great job of not only improving the handling but also lowering the seat. And it's free. How can you go wrong with that? And if that's not enough then go ahead and spend the money!

Carb Synch indicators?
az1103 replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Rough or uneven idle, overheating, poor mileage, backfiring . Can be all of the above or just one or two. The sinc. procedure is very quick and simple so if there is any doubt you should probably do it. -
Set the Float Levels on QuickSilver
az1103 replied to V7Goose's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I believe you are puting a bit more meaning into the phrase than intended; I grew up in "the age of carburators". Granted, mostly in cars, but a good number of bikes too. Generally, that just means flip the thing over and let it rest on the needle with its own weight which just overcomes the spring. The reason it is stated that way is the black, hard rubber tip on some (though not all) needles. They don't want you to compress that tip in any way. The problem with not allowing the weight of the floats to overcome the spring is that you can end up with floats being adjusted too low. That can, under sustained load conditions, cause momentary fuel starvation and surging. You would most likely feel this under acceleration and particularly a climbing long turn. You decide to pass someone, twist hard and stay on the throttle, you surge forward but then feel a power drop or hesitation because the level was too low to start with , then it picks up again. When you first twist hard the accelerator pump injects fuel and depletes the bowl and the sustained throttle doesn't allow the level to restore fast enough. But that would be the only time you feel it. It has absolutely no effect on your gas mileage unless one of your carburators is so low that it's constantly running lean which will cause overheating of that cylinder and a most likely barely perceptible power loss. -
Ok, for those of us not in the know of the CB fineries please clarify, why 19?

If I remember correctly there is a small hole on left side where you can insert a paper-clip and eject the tape.

Not so! Read description more carefully 1st and last points coinside . This is a four sided trapezoidal plot. If you can't find the actual monuments or markers you will need to get a survey. Even if you get the original documents they will do you no good unless the physical markers survived. Nor will you know if the plot intersects your boundries unless your markers are present as well.

WANT TO TALK TO ANOTHER BIKE w/o AUDIO

Wow!!! Take a deeeep breath guy!!!! It's OK realy, you'll be fine...... -
Yes, we do have the vote.....But somehow it isn't as it used to be. Maybe I am just getting old, but I remember a time when we actually voted for rather than against something. And I remember when we actually voted for people who presented ideas we agreed with and not just spoke of somekind of nebulous change without actually having any ideas about anything. Let's not forget that there was voting in the now defunct communist block countries too. Was it meaningfull voting? That's another question, one I suppose that Castro, Mugabe, Lenin, Stalin etc..had their own ideas about. Yet people voted for all of those tyrants.... It isn't just the actual voting that's important - It's having a choice, a meaningfull choice that's important. It's being informed enough to actually know what you are voting for that's important.

Actually, that just means the solution is obvious: Rip rhat thing out and throw it away ! but it still connects via a two connector aux. cable! Just connect your MP3 to that....

Well Greg I am not sure anymore whether to rejoice or not.... Another 4th of July and it Looks like we are back to "Taxation without representation" . :confused24:As you can see I am in California so my taxes are going to supporting the exploding birthrate of illegal aliens. Our legislators are mostly wasting their time on legalization of queers and pederasts and rapid redistribution of income according to socialist ideas.....I guess they failed to note how well that worked out in the FORMER Soviet Union , Cuba etc....

Doesn't your cassette deck have an aux. input next to it? all you have todo is plug into that. If not, then actually those tape converters don't move tape so just cause your deck motor is bad doesn't mean it won't work, they are under 10 bucks - not much to try. Finally, if all else doesn't work for you, take the cassette player out and throw it away ! use the aux jack behind it to play your MP3's and store your player in the hole where the cassette player used to be ! So what's the problem?

WANT TO TALK TO ANOTHER BIKE w/o AUDIO
az1103 replied to TESchoener's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
I've been trying to find a use for that thing for over a year now !!! All I ever hear is Mexicans making lame jokes and using language that would make a sailor blush. You can't hardly even get a radio check any more without someone telling you to go f*** yourself!!! If I were were you I'd buy some Walkie talkies on FMRS. Costco is selling some nice Motorolas for $79. You get three units with charger which include button earphones with keyed mikes and cover the FMRS & GMRS bands with a huge number of security codes which should block out all those garbage-mouths. Plus you get all 11 USGS weather stations. For the price you can't beat it. -
Maybe better concentrate on places other than Russia if you plan on doing this on a bike. I don't drive in Russia, too dangerous and the roads are mostly crappy.
-
If your unit has provision for a plug-in remote control then you will have no problem. I did that on my Mazda Miata to get the steering wheel controls to work. the adaptor runs from 29 to 49 bucks depending on type.

Kuriyakin makes a bag intended for a Wing which fits ours perfectly ant it's only $49 at Wings'n Things. You can also find it in many of the catalogs & online. It's well made.

Nor did I mention any party in particular. Congresses, and presidents of both parties have dropped the ball for years. If my statement was political in any way, it was only to say that if we could harness all the hot air and useless noise coming out of Washington we would be energy independent for the next 100 years. But one thing is certain, if you want a problem solved, don't get the government involved for it will only get worse! And by the way, I happen to be registered Independent. Not "independent Party", Independent.!!!

Wrong! I for one, am not riding for any other reason than loving to ride. I was riding when it was 35 cents a gallon, and I'll be riding when it's ten dollars a gallon. But as someone who was in the refinery building business, I can tell you that the fault lies in the overly agressive but thoroughly under-educated approach of the greenheads. The Al Gore types got us into this but they won't be getting us out! You can't legislate and mandate your way out of this one - There is no perpetual motion machine-nor will there ever be one. And any conversion of energy necessarily uses more energy. An electric motor does not use less energy if you still have to charge a battery. Where do you think that comes from!!!!!????? Yes indeed , the same old hydrocarbons. If those morons in congress had approved new drilling, some nuclear power plants, and encouraged and not mandated some intelligent conservation along the way, we wouldnt't be up the creek right now. You can't mandate invention! and particularly of these pie-in-the-sky perpetual motion schemes that most polititians want to see. The problem is they are thoroughly ignorant of science and natural processes, they only excel in the bla-bla-bla department, just like most greenheads. Just plain hopelessly uneducated!!!

I presume you must be on headset, but even if you weren't your Gps is , again I presume , connected throug the aux input to your radio/cb controler if so then keing the mike will mute all other connected sound sources. So the only way you can continue to hear the GPS is to decouple it fron the system. Sounds like an awfull lot of work to me....
