Man, your '88 looks like a twin of my bike. Good looking bike, but it's yours so do what you want. Besides, with two Rotts watching it, just how much grief do you think anyone would give you?

Ron, I can't take any credit for it, but I'm glad this site has helped. I know almost all of us have sought fellowship, or laughter, or comfort on this site from time to time. As you've already figured out, getting involved online and even more so in the local meet and eats is a great way to unwind and enjoy the comraderie we all share. So Merry Christmas and a Happier New Year to you as well.

I'm sure everyone has had good and bad transactions but I like what PayPal did for me last week. They saw three fairly large charges to my account in a short time span and called me before they would accept them. The charges were mine but I definitely like their safe guards on this one.

Like they said boys and girls, look closely into his eyes and you'll see why he's smiling. Any idea where can a get a pair of those "glasses"??

We want to schedule Vogel, Don's Maintenance Day and the National Rally into our to do for sure list.

That has to be the best color combination ever offered for the 1st gen venture. Man, it's almost as pretty as the 1st gen shown on the St. Judes ride thread.

The "pleasant disposition" must have been an option that came with the new NAME... :rotfl:

Just exactly are you trying to say. You might need to be a little more to the point for some on this thread. :puzzled:

Ther're pretty to look at in Arkansas. They look good on the wall, in chili, and on the grill....

Brad, sorry to hear of your dilema but know you're doing what is best for you and Lonna. Hope it all works out well but nobody really knows what the economy holds for us. If you two need a few days away from the North there's a spare bedroom at my house and a couple of pretty good cooks. Stay in touch. Jim & Patricia p.s. I'd probably let you ride my bike if you come for a visit.

Welcome aboard Rich. Jump in and join the fun. Thers's a little bit of everything on this site, but the best is the friendship, or maybe the rivalries, or the tech issues, or ............ Oh what the heck, ENJOY. -
I've seen too many of you guys ride to even think about challenging you, no matter what the beverage of choice is. I'm too old to worry what others think of my speed or riding skills. If I can go from here to there in one piece and get there in time for the food and ice cream, I'm good to go. p.s. That UPS truck was NOT from this solar system. He had that truck in warp speed.

Very nice. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do ours. You failed to give the address so some adVenturess types could appraise it's hospitality factor for us.

When duty calls you just have to do what you have to do. Glad to hear you're so devoted to the job.

Not a big fan of side cars but in this case I'm very glad you have one. That could have been much nastier on two wheels. Glad he's okay.

Good for you Dan. Sometimes it's awful easy to let the "what ifs" keep us from doing what we need and/or want to do. Hope I get a chance to ride with more of you guys next summer. Need more 1st gens to kick back with.
-
Really sorry to hear of your accident. Right now you just need to get the injuries treated and take some down time to heal and reflect. Not going to tell you what you should do but know that we all support whatever decision you need to make. Good luck and stay in touch.

I have a kerosene heater that said to only use "white gas". When I was growing up, I could get that but haven't seen any lately. Is that just a better grade of kerosene? I been using standard kerosene but it does puff a little smoke when starting it or turning it off. Only use it in the shop so it's not a big concern.

I saw the Walmart story on the news and it is a sad commentary on the priorities of some people. Snaggletooth, very sorry to hear of your daughters run in with the shopping mob mentality. Sometimes I feel like I should apologize for all the unthinking and uncaring out there in the world... What really happened to "Merry Christmas"?

I just love you 1st gen guys. You've always got each other's back. Kind of like the defenders of the Alamo, holding out against unnumbered foes. It'a a valiant struggle and I'm glad to be one of you. We will NOT go silently into the night!! P.S. Moderators definitely earn their pay. Keep up the good work.

Redneck has used the Lowrance for years and I really liked the size and visibility it offers for my old eyes. It also tells you what exit, turn direction, and road you be turning onto. Very valuable to me as I don't have to watch a screen to know what to do. Had to make custom mounts for the 1st gen handlebars though. Unit is large and heavy. Works very well though. -
I think I'll have to come to Don's maintanence day this year to check this out with the rest of you. Maybe if we just heated the water a little by dropping an electric heater into the pond will make them surface. I can't tell if these are prehistoric creatures, but I'm pretty sure they are an "endangered" species. Could that second picture possibly be a pair of them getting ready to mate?? Now that's a visual I can't get rid of either!!

Welcome aboard Jerry. Jump in and have some fun. Relax, Enjoy, and don't take anybody too seriously. Mostly just a bunch of crazy guys and gals who tell tall tale, poke fun at each other and their rides, pray for others in need, and like to eat. By the way, did I mention we like to eat? CAUTION: Watch out for the Moderators, they're pretty scary people!!! :rotf:
