Like they've already said. This is one upgrade that you wonder how you ever did without it. Especially when you stall it in a busy intersection, a drive through line at the bank, etc. Some people are really impatient while you're pushing that 800lb gorilla out of their way. :rotfl:

Bill, you're starting to sound like an old woman. Saw one of your posts just a couple of days ago and you said, "Man there ain't no bike better than mine, best bike I've ever owned, wouldn't trade it for anything.":bang head: Next thing you know, you'll be looking for a moped to beat the high cost of gas!!!:buttkick: Come on Bill, make up your mind!! :rotfl:

About to paint my bike.
Ozark replied to NLAlston's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Nathan, just a couple of thoughts to add. Patience is the keyword when painting. Don't rush to put on a second coat. Don't hold the spray can too close, causes lots of runs. Don't hold it too far, doesn't cover well. Etc,etc, etc. Practise on some cardboard or metal scrap until you have some feel for spray can painting. I've messed up a lot of good parts with trying to hurry. One other thing you probably already know. Black is a very unforgiving color. Every sag, wrinkle, dust spec, etc will shine like a new penny. Last of all, GOOD LUCK. :happy65: -
Does anyone ride with no windshield ?
Ozark replied to a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I did when I was younger and cool. Now I'm just older and wiser. You don't know what bugs are unless you live in my part of the country, N.E. Arkansas. Drove through Georgia and Tennessee last year and only cleaned my windshield just before I crossed the mighty Mississippi. By the time I covered the last 70 miles to my home, you couldn't find a bug free spot on it. Besides the bugs, after having neck surgery, I wouldn't try it now no matter what. Too much strain on the neck. -
I think Mike is taking a time out. Playing with Grandkids and stuff. I think he's even been thinking about selling his bike. Would hate to see that happen, fun guy to be around.

Very nice bike. My best friend has one and I'm afraid to ride it. Could catch the fever for a newer bike and just can't think about getting rid of the 1st gen. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.

Kind of hoped Pat & I could sneek up there and surprise you, but I just found out our High School graduation is Friday night. Family and friends are graduating and for some reason they expect us to attend??? Hope you have a great weekend. Look forward to getting together later in the year.

That is great news. I have you both on my prayer list and will continue to lift you up to the Lord. We appreciate the update.

Progressive Springs for 1987 VR
Ozark replied to okiefirefighter's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I believe I ordered mine direct from Progressive, but there are several aftermarkets. I'm not running any air in the front forks after I installed the new springs, and yes, this would be the ideal time to install them. P.S. I love the new ride and handling.- 6 replies

Gee, next thing you know they won't let us use our cell phones or text message each other as we go down the road!! Hmmm. Now that I think about it, that might not be a good idea after all. So how are you going to unplug just one speaker to be legal?:confused24:

Lock my forks on most trips. If two or three guys can pick up my venture and walk away with it, I'm probably not going to be able to stop them anyway, unless I have my friends Smith and Wesson with me. :rotf:

Dan, I agree with the consensus of the group. Get a lawyer. It's a great big fraternity of judges, lawyers, and insurance companies out there. A few dollars for consultation at the least. For what it's worth, I think you can release the insurance company from any further liability and still file suit against the individual. I don't have a law degree and my case wasn't like yours, but I let my insurance company go after the other guy once it was proven to be his fault. Good Luck, you deserve some for a change.

Just got back on site and am very sorry to see the latest update. Just know that you and Jeannie are in our prayers for comfort and healing.

Look on the bright side. All those miles on spongy tires and you still loved it. Now it handles like a new bike and you'll love it even more. They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronge, but in this case maybe it just makes you wiser.

If he's not gone, he sure is in short supply around here. I think he has been replaced by the "Politicaly Correct" idea. Check recent post if you missed it for the definition of the concept. :rotf:

I saw an article on that machine. Very impressive looks. They said it was drawn just for fun, but someone liked it enough to actually build one. I think it said everything worked pretty well until you tried to turn. It has almost no ground clearance. It would definitely turn some head where ever it goes though. Very Wild Looking Ride.

Just lifted up a prayer in behalf of your wife and you. I hope you find hope and comfort in the prayers of so many and find strength in our Lord.

Jeff is a much better mechanic than me or most on this site, and I agree that it sounds much like the TCI. I don't think it is the kill switch though, since you said it will run, but very poorly. Jeff, could the kill switch still be the problem? Jim
