  1. When you first got your Venture, how long did it take you to get used to the bike's characteristics? the way it handles at low and high speed, coming to a stop with that top heaviness...you know that sort of thing. I'm having a hard time adjusting to my '93, mainly coming to a stop. None of the other bikes i've owned have been like this one. my wife says i just need to ride it more. what sort of bikes did you have before your venture?
  2. i feel like that Polaris left Victory to die on the vine once they acquired Indian. It seemed like they just rehashed the same bikes and the octane was too little too late. they could have shifted the focus of Victory to other forms of motorcycles and let indian be the cruiser/ retro company
  3. I just mounted up a front tire and decided to give these a try. i just poured them in the tire before i installed it. they balance the tire fine, no vibes out of the front at all
  4. does anyone make different ends for the 1g handlebars? Ilike where the bars sit but i'd like less pullback. these bars put my wrists at a funny angle that i can't adjust out. i had the same problem with my virago and the stock buckhorns, i ended up changing bars on it. but it's a little hard to do on a Mk.1
  5. just for an update, my bike is a '93 but has apparently been partially rebuilt with earlier forks, and what looks to be a '88 body kit. Im going to take her to a paint shop i know of and have the paint color matched. the closest i can come to the factory color is the '88 scheme of salt lake silver/ anthony grey. thanks to everyone who chimed in on this thread, especially Prairiehammer who tipped me off about the forks.
  6. I'm not sure, iv'e got some digging into it to do I'd sure like to know myself
  7. you may be right, it just seems like an awful lot of work to repaint the bike with a factory paint scheme from 5 years in the past.
  8. Hi, go ahead and add mine to the database. 1993 Venture Royale, VIN JYA1NLE06PA048280. is there a build sheet available for these?
  9. the rear wheel also has black paint on it. I'm wondering if it wasnt wrecked and rebuilt with different parts....that's my big concern. the title didn't say salvage or rebuilt on it, but i don't know how missouri does their titles.
  10. I have to say, if i had a choice between the 2 color schemes I'd go with the blue that's supposed to be for '93 \
  11. VIN is JYA1NLE06PA048280
  12. I'll have to get the vin after i get home from work, but i do know that the vin matches the title. I had to have it inspected by the state police before i had it tagged. it's titled as a '93. if it is actually a '88, i'm not gonna be too thrilled as it was sold as a 93. But i did't pay a whole lot for it so it's not a huge deal. I guess i'm more concerned that i bought a frankenbike
  13. I was afraid you were gonna say that. There are some signs that this bike may have been down on the left side before, I'm wondering if the body panels weren't swapped for another bike. I've seen a few 88s come up and n a image search that are the same color. Well damn. I need to get some touch up paint, I may have to have it color matched like was suggested
  14. my' 93 mk2 and '82 xv750
  15. Hi everyone. after searching all over, the only paint colors i've found for the 93 venture are 2 tone blue and maroon. my '93 is a 2 tone brown/ beige color, and i need some touch up paint. does anyone have paint codes for this bike?
  16. Hey, how 'bout that ? Looks like i got it figured out... thanks guys
  17. that's what's happening, the website is saying failure to upload... ill try downsizing the photos. Do you happen to know what the max size is? thanks guys

  20. Who is currently rebuilding seats for the Mk 1? Is Rick Butler still active? I need to get the seat on my 93 redone, the boss isn't very comfortable on it.
  21. Would a progressive 2bbl carb like one of the webers from a 2.3l pinto engine be a better option than the 1 bbl carb?
