Way to go Craig. I had my eye on that one too. Biggest problem for me was that the warranty on a U.S. bike is useless in Canada. I can see that Black Cherry is quickly becoming the new "Fastest Color".
-
Thanks Eddie, but you're not the first. Blues lover brought one to me when I was still in the hospital. That's my first new accessory.
-
Wow Joe, at that rate it will take me 14 years to get all my strength back. Just about the time I'll be look'n for a 3 wheeler.
-
Sounds like a plan Jim. But if another deal comes along don't wait on me ok.
-
Jim, I might be interested in this deal. Just bought an '06 this morning. I'd really like to give the stock seat a try though. Everyone seems to like the pillows so much. If you don't find anyone else who is ready to make the swap sooner, keep me in mind.
-
Well, that's a given. You know that has to happen...LOL driving/passing lights, bag rails, tunk rack, front fender rail, etc. etc. etc.

I put a deposit down on a '06 Black Cherry. Blues Lover told me about it so I stopped at the shop in London last weekend on the way to the Kitchener M&E and was only able to see it through the front window because they were closed. After several e-mails back and forth this week, they saw the light and we came to an agreement on the phone this morning. Can you think of a better way to spend your time in the middle of a blizzard? Sure hope my old body will let me ride again. I guess we're going to find out. Just have to wait for the snow to melt enough to get my trailer out of the barn.

If anyone might be interested in owning a custom built bike/car hauler I've listed my '46 Chevrolet truck for sale in the classified section. I also have a 1937 Chevrolet 1 1/2 ton (stock) short wheel base with a 10 ton hoist available if anyone knows of someone who may be interested. This link has a better picture of the C.O.E. http://www.streetrodding.com/index.cfm/f/carShows.viewImage/id/348584

Not in the part of Ontario I live in. Maybe up by Charlie but I doubt it. At least not on any road you would drive your Venture on. You must be confusing Ontario with Saskatchewan.

Great job Lou. Thanks for remembering Leslie.

Nice Tom, Glad to hear Debby was able to ride again. Just wish you would quite teasing us northern folk with all that talk about gorgeous hot weather, riding and BBQ's....LOL Give Debby a big hug for me buddy. Gary BTW...up here swimming starts when it gets up to 70*. You better toughen up before next July.

I heard there's a cruise ship of ferry that you can load your bike on to and travel the BC coastline up to Alaska or vise-versa. Has anyone done this and if so what can you tell me about it? What ports does the ship sail from? Any web sites? This is something I've been thinking about for a while. I probably won't be up for if this year but maybe next year. I figure leave home around the first of June and be in Alaska for the first day of summer to get the longest daylight hours, then sail down the coast to Vancouver and then maybe down into California along the coast and zig-zag back home.

Kind of looks like Don's Pond Monster.

Chrome levers can be bought for cheap at JC Whitney. I think in the $15 range. You couldn't begin to get yours chromed for that.
-
I ordered mine when I bought the new specs. They're made to fit the frame.

Hi Don, I made my own too. Just used some scrap pieces I had around the shop. I've got a double wide one on the back of my '46 Chev truck and a single one in the bike trailer. I saw one at a local bike shop that looked home made and they were asking $200 for them. I knew I could do better than that.

Brad, Stay away from the magnetic ones. Leslie lost hers without even noticing they were gone until too late. I use the clip on ones and they work very well. I also get the transition lenses but they need direct sun light to work so the clip on sun glasses work better when driving the motor-home or car and even the bike with a visor on the helmet.

Carl, Congratulations to you and your family. Although Marca looks way too young to be a grandma, you on the other hand seem to qualify quite nicely.

Hey George, I think it was a year ago today that we met you guys for the Savanna GA meet and eat. That was a great time too. We really enjoyed visiting with you folks and touring the city.

Thanks to all for the kind words. My friends here at VR.org have truly made this journey a little easier.

Well I finally got up the courage to watch the video of Leslie's funeral. I think that's the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life. I know it seems like a weird thing to do, to video a funeral, but since I wasn't able to attend in person I needed to be able to see it for myself. The next day I went to the cemetery to visit the grave site. I think watching the video made going to the cemetery a little easier but not much. Today I went and looked at my bike for the first time since the accident. I don't know how I managed to survive this. The front wheel is pushed back into the radiator. The gas tank is almost flat on top. The G2 bars are bent. The windshield is gone. The headlight, passing lights and turn signals are gone. The fairing is toast. What a mess.

Jay, I have a 6X12 enclosed for my RSV and it's perfect for one bike or maybe one touring and one cruiser but it would be tight for two large bikes and hard to get around to hook up the tie downs etc. I think for two bikes a seven foot wide model would be better. As far as sleeping in it. They do get hot inside not having any insulation but lots of guys do use them for camping. With roll up screening an inflatable bed and a large beer cooler you'll be all set.

Here's a link to the post I made on installing the HD fishtail tips. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=11648&highlight=Fishtail+tips

Jerry, FYI, it's an easy mod to install the Harley fishtail tips on the Bubs. I did a how to and posted on here somewhere. Let me know if you're interested and I'll see if I can find it. Gary
