Read my lips... You don't need a passport to get into Canada.... And you won't need one to get into the U.S. until June 2009. Crossing the border in either direction is a minor inconvenience. Leave your guns at home and there shouldn't be a problem.

For what it's worth, I have recent first hand experience on how good my insurance was. By the way, I pay about $1000 a year for full coverage with $1000 deductible which I always thought was outrageous until I had to use it. So far I have had no out of pocket expenses that have not been covered by my insurance company. My hospital bill for 1 month in Akron Ohio was well over $300,000.00. This was totally covered through my out of province health care insurance which is separate from my bike insurance. The next two months in Canadian hospitals were covered through our provincial health plan. All of my rehab, including house keeping, snow removal, special bath room equipment etc. has been covered on the bike insurance. Leslie's funeral costs ($15K+) were covered through a combination of bike insurance and life insurance. I have not settled on the bike itself but from talks I've had with the adjuster, it sounds like the pay out on the bike will be fare. My point to all this is, make sure you have enough coverage. I had expenses for things I never even thought of, like $10,000 for a life flight. Also make sure your will and power of attorney for financial and medical are up to date. And make sure your executor and/or the person who has your power of attorney know your wishes and where your papers are kept. We all complain about the cost of insurance and we all look for the cheapest rate. All I'm saying is sometimes you get what you pay for. Think about it.

Hey Don, if Eileen knows how to cook you can leave her here...LOL I'm close to the border so you could come and visit any time.

Not a problem. It's an easy job and I can do it for you any time. Yes I did do my own on the Flanders bars and plan on doing another set very soon.

Well, we know that they never screw up don't we....LOL. Are they both www fronts? I decided to keep the rear www Avon off of the '03. I can't see any damage to it so I may as well use it up rather than give it to the insurance company. I won't bother with the front one though.

An assumption on my part Don. I thought that they only worked when one of the people spoke but maybe they are open all the time. I guess you do learn something everyday.

The rider/passenger mics are voice activated. You probably need to turn down the intercom volume. I believe I use to run it at about 12 or 13. Any higher and I would get a lot of wind noise through the head set.

I'm on my 4th set of 404s on a RSV. Generally get about 22000 - 24000 kms. per set. I like the www's so for me it's the only game in town. I tried the Avon venoms and they were great but I'm not sold on the smaller front tire, which is the only way I could get them in www. Plus for the price of two Avons you can get three Dunlops and although I never got to wear out a set of Avons, from what I learned here, they don't last any longer.

As most of you know I lost my dear wife last Oct. in a motorcycle accident. I've been struggling with this everyday since and more so since I came back home from the hospital. I still cry almost everyday. Today the weather was nice and I went out to the shop. I got my '32 Ford out and gave it a wash, aired up the tires and met some friends for coffee. When I came home I went back out and started working on the '06 RSV. I got one new tire on, changed the oil in the rear end and put a few pieces of safety chrome on along with my Bubs and HD fishtails. It sure felt good to work out there with the doors open and the sun shining. A friend called and invited me out for dinner so I jumped into the '32 Ford and picked him up and went for a great turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Even splurged and had a apple dumpling for dessert. I haven't been eating dessert for a while now. Although I'm really beat right now, I really enjoyed the day. And that's something I haven't been able to say for a while.

Dan, that looks like "Creeping Charlie" (not the fisherman) to me. I've had good luck with "Kill-Ex". It contains 24D I believe. It takes care of most broad leaf weeds including dandelions and plantain but won't kill your grass. The hardware store where I buy this also carries their own brand of the same stuff and it's a couple of $ cheaper and works just as good.

As far as I know the warranty starts the date that the bike goes into service. Any dealer can tell you if there is any warranty left and if there is you will want to get listed as the current owner. Again any dealer should be able to do that for you too.

Spear, you need to take something small and sharp like a jeweler's screw driver and pry out the chrome bolt caps. Be careful because they like to jump to places that they can't be found again. It's a very easy job should only take 15 -20 minutes.

Go to... http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/ ....they offer 25% off. For $2000 you should get about everything in the book. I'd start with bag rails and passing lights then trunk wing with third brake light. Headlight, brake light modulator and more safety chrome. Don't forget the Stebel air horn too.

No, these are riser extensions as apposed to a different riser. Just take the four bolts out of the top of the stock riser, lift the handle bar up and put the extension in. Replace the bar, caps and use the supplied longer bolts.

Carb Air Vent Hoses to nowhere
Gary N. replied to Mordalo's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I believe those are the breather tubes for the carb float bowls. They go into a small bracket on the air cleaner box on the front side. If your floats stick the gas will run out through these hoses and away from the hot engine. -
If you can get your hands on some industrial rubber sheeting about 1/2" - 3/4" thick and cut some pieces about 1" X 2" it's easy enough to just wedge these between the risers and the fairing. That will do the same job as the stock ones did.

XM here and no complaints. I only listen to music. Wish that they carried the CBC though especially when I'm away down south for the winter. My wife always liked to listen to Stewart McClain on Saturday mornings and she missed that when we were away.

Be careful out there Ron, especially with your sweetheart on the back seat.
