  1. Betcha' can't read this without laughing... What a wonderful confluence of two diverse groups! We need more gatherings where the idiot activists are given warm, moist, aromatic welcomes like this one. This is why PETA usually protests women wearing fur ~ rather than bikers wearing leather. Hey! "You mess with the bull, and you get the horns". Gee, I guess these characters thought that bikers were going to be 'politically correct' like the rest of the wimpy world. HERE'S HOW POLICE FOUND ONE OF THEM: Johnstown, PA (Glossy News) - Local and state police scoured the hills outside rural Johnstown, Pennsylvania, after reports of three animal rights activists going missing after attempting to protest the wearing of leather at a large motorcycle gang rally this weekend. Two others, previously reported missing, were discovered by fast food workers "duct taped inside fast food restaurant dumpsters," according to police officials. "Something just went wrong," said a still visibly shaken organizer of the protest. "Something just went horribly, horribly, wrong." The organizer said a group of concerned animal rights activist groups, "growing tired of throwing fake blood and shouting profanities at older women wearing leather or fur coats," decided to protest the annual motorcycle club event "...in a hope to show them our outrage at their wanting to use leather in their clothing and motor bike seats." "In fact," said the organizer, "motorcycle gangs are one of the biggest abusers of wearing leather, and we decided it was high time that we let them know that we disagree with them using it, ergo, they should stop." According to witnesses, protesters arrived at the event in a vintage 1960's era Volkswagen van and began to pelt the gang members with balloons filled with red colored water, simulating blood, and shouting "you're murderers" to passers by. This, evidently, is when the brouhaha began. "They peed on me!!!" charged one activist. "They grabbed me, said I looked like I was French, started calling me 'La Trene', and duct taped me to a tree so they could pee on me all day!" Still others claimed they were forced to eat hamburgers and hot dogs under duress. Those who resisted were allegedly held down while several bikers "farted on their heads." Police officials declined comments on any leads or arrests due to the ongoing nature of the investigation; however, organizers for the motorcycle club rally expressed "surprise" at the allegations. "That's preposterous, "said one high-ranking member of the biker organizing committee. "We were having a party, and these people showed up and were very rude to us. They threw things at us, called us names, and tried to ruin the entire event. So, what did we do? We invited them to the party! What could be more friendly than that? You know, just because we are all members of motorcycle clubs does not mean we do not care about inclusiveness. Personally, I think it shows a lack of character for them to be saying such nasty things about us after we bent over backwards to make them feel welcome." When confronted with the allegations of force-feeding the activists meat, using them as ad hoc latrines, leaving them incapacitated in fast food restaurant dumpsters, and 'farting on their heads,' the organizer declined to comment in detail. "That's just our secret handshake," assured the organizer.
  2. Mary's oldest daughter gave birth to our first grand daughter today. Mila was born this afternoon at 3:04 PM, 7 lbs 13 oz, 21 inches. Mother, daughter and grandmother are all doing fine.
  3. You can get the pump from any HD store. Not sure if the fender rack for a Road Star would work for you or not.
  4. Get well soon Bob. Thinking good thoughts for you buddy.
  5. Jay, the only good riding roads we have are the ones close to the water. If you get on Riverside Drive in Windsor and head east and stay close to the water you'll end up in Chatham. From there the roads are mostly straight and boring until you get up to the ST. Clair River. If you have the extra time head south along the Detroit River from Windsor to Amherstburg and just stay as close as you can to the river and lake Erie to Wheatley and Blenheim. Then you can go to Ridgetown and up to Thamesville where you can catch a road that runs back to Chatham along the south side of the Thames river through the Indian reservation. Wish I could join you as I ride these roads all the time and know them well.
  6. Sorry guys, my weekend is full up and I can't make it this time. But I sure wish I could.
  7. Everything from the biggest antique farm equipment to airplanes and everything in between. Check out the link to their web site. Google "Stan Reynolds". He is the guy who got the museum started. He donated the land and 80% of the collection.
  8. Brad, If your friend likes museums and he has the time, tell him to check out http://www.history.alberta.ca/reynolds/default.aspx It's at Wetaskiwin AB, about 3 hours north of Calgary. Well worth the time IMHO.
  9. Part number 41501, $66.06. It's the only one they stocked at the local store and the max psi was 4 lbs. Kind of a job to install because I removed the bracket that the original one was attached to so I could drill a couple of holes in it for the new one. Other then that, it fits great and works very well. I bought two 90 degree fittings and one barbed, hose fitting to get everything aimed the right way. It comes with a nice small fuel filter but I didn't use it because it would have meant removing the pump to change it. I put an automotive filter under the seat where it's easy to get too.
  10. Kent, thanks for the excellent info on alternative replacement parts. I had to replace my fuel pump this week and was able to pickup a Faucet pump at my local Car Quest.
  11. "TAKING A BREAK" Just like that, cold turkey? He must have a lot of will power. I go into withdrawal if I miss this mayhem for a day.

  13. Would have liked to Joe but my son and his wife are coming to visit for the weekend. Maybe next time.
  14. You live in a beautiful part of the country.
  15. Nice rig Mike. You'll have to come and see us in Kerrville next winter. Maybe we can get Tom and Debbie to come over at the same time.

    RSV cover

I bought one at Walmart. XL bike cover worked fine. Got mine five or more years ago for $35.00. I think they are even less $$ now.
  17. We have another grandson. Mary's second daughter gave birth at home in Toronto last night to a bouncing baby boy. Jackson Micheal. We will meet him later this morning.
  18. Joe, I don't know what the final drive ratio would be but it would be like putting a lower geared rear end in your truck. You get a little more pulling power. Your rpms at cruising speed will be roughly 500 higher. At least that's what I think I've read on here. Might be great if you're pulling a lot of weight like a trailer.
  19. Hi Tom, Talking to former member, Ramblingman (Bruce), today and he said he still has his camper for sale. Here's his phone number:519-978-0640
  20. Good on you Dan. I'm sure all those folks were very happy to see you and appreciated the pat on the back. I also went to the EMS station and thanked the folks who attended my accident, as well as the police officer who investigated and they were all very appreciative.
  21. Glad to hear you didn't get hurt. Let the repairs begin. That's not too easy to do on a second gen with floor boards Carl. I've tried it.
