What did you expect? They've only made seven different models since 1953. Only so many ways to display seven cars. I'm not a Corvette fan but I did enjoy the museum. I also took a plant tour next door. No charge for GM retirees, at least when I did it.

Don, she is playing in Windsor on the 29th. We have two tickets we need to get rid of because we're going south. Interested?

Aussie Annie and Allen are west of the Rockies.

Here's mine. Not very good pics but you get the idea. 36 X 52, wash bay on the far left looking at the front and work shop is the two doors on the right. Car hoist in the far right bay. The old truck is gone. I'm currently redoing my '32 Ford coupe.

It's not worth the aggravation Ron.

Just looked around a bit more found that there are only 10 VR members listed as of 4:06 EST. So it looks like we are offering assistance to all members on that site. I don't think I want to do that.
-
The sort function doesn't seem to work. Searching for just members from Ontario spits out a list from everywhere including Australia. Also I'm not sure about some of the names on the list. There's a lot of handles that I'm not familiar with even though I requested VR info. So if we volunteer assistance on there are we offering to help all the folks on the other sites too?

Great interview. Yup, she got her good looks from her Mom. No doubt about it. They could be sisters.

front and rear air suspension psi
Gary N. replied to bkf88's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
7 lbs. max front and 55 lbs. max rear for 2nd gen. -
I have some fun with some of these young guys at the local auto parts store when I go in looking for a part for my '32 Ford with a Chevy engine. It was even more fun when I was building my '46 Chev Cab Over Engine with the Isuzu diesel.....LOL

I saw the one at the PMEA air and space museum (and bone yard) in Tucson AZ a couple of years ago. An awesome looking machine. http://www.pimaair.org/index.php

OMG Randy! Michigan to Key West in 2 1/2 days. You're going to need a vacation from your vacation when you get back.

I have the leveling links installed and run the max pressure in the rear shock 55 lbs. Like the way the bike handles much better this way either riding solo or two up. We ride two up 90% of the time with the bags loaded so this works for me. 375 lbs. total people weight. I too have 29" inseam. I can still flat foot on level surfaces. I do have the Butt Butler seat mod which lowers the ride height slightly but still use seat beads so that probably cancels out the seat mod. Even at the max pressure in the rear shock I have bottomed out the rear suspension on hard bumps.

Our snow is gone again but there's still an inch of salt on the roads. Supposed to stay above freezing daytime temps all week but too much crap on the roads to ride.

I had the same issue during my Alaska trip so I just taped it shut. I assumed the latch just got real dirty and wouldn't work. After a good wash job when I got back home it started to work again. Maybe a little WD40 would help you out.

Hello Dale, and welcome to our forum. My wife and I did our Alaska trip in 2010 and I got to say it was the trip of a life time. I would do it again in a heart beat. We didn't drive the bike all the way though. We left home here in southern Ontario on the 6th of June in our motor home and drove it as far as Edmonton Alberta where we left it and jumped on the bike. The only dead line we had was to be in Prince Rupert BC to catch the ferry up the inside passage to Juneau on June 20. I allowed a week to get from Edmonton across the Rockies to Prince Rupert because in June you can get any kind of weather in the mountains. You haven't seen the Rockies until you've seen them on a bike. After catching the ferry our schedule was wide open and we didn't have anymore dead lines so we took our time. Retirement allows you to do that. I would have to say that we never did any more than 300 miles in a day. We always tried to figure out where we wanted to go and reserved a room on line before we left. There are a lot of tourist up there in the summer but we never had a problem getting a room. Sometimes we would only stop for the night and sometimes we stayed for several. The only not paved roads we were on was the Top of the World Hwy. and also some large construction zones. Be very careful in the construction zones. They like to water down the road and turns to oat meal. The Top of the World Hwy. is definitely not to be missed. Having said that I will worn you as I was. Don't go there if it's raining. It's about 100 miles of gravel and when it rains it turns to soup. And wash outs can be a problem too. We were lucky to have dry weather when we did it. My wife loved the ride. The dust not so much. When we got to our room in Dawson Creek she went right for the tub and took a bath. I went and washed the bike. Everything is expensive in the far north so be prepared. Meals and lodging can run $250 - $300 per day easy. Gas wasn't too bad in Alaska but in northern BC and the Yukon look out. Especially in the more desolate areas where they have to run generators 24/7 for power. Pick up a copy of the Mile Post. I wouldn't do the trip without it. Do a lot of research and planning before you leave. Here's a link to a thread I posted here about our trip. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=49470 If you have any specific questions for me you can email me at gary.n at live.ca OH I wanted to tell you we put 5000 miles just on the bike from Edmonton and back not counting the ferry ride.

LOL... I'm the master of that Carl. It's amazing how many hours it takes to not accomplish anything.

I've always liked that style but haven't really decided if I'll go that way or not. I've had full fenders on it since I built it the first time and I like that style too.

Thanks Eck, I'll give it some thought.....NO! Had something like this in mind. http://i.ebayimg.com/00/$(KGrHqJ,!rIFD1fVbTeeBRCDFn8ygQ~~_4.JPG

Since we are stuck home this winter I've decided to get some work done that I've been putting off. I got everything done I wanted to on the bike in the fall so I got started on redoing my '32 Ford. I originally restored this car back in the late '70s and the old body work was starting to show it's age. There are so many parts available for the car now that weren't available back then so this time I'm doing it right. The plan is for new body sub rails, rear 1/4 panels, trunk gutters and steel trunk lid. I just hope I'm physically up to the task. I sure don't have the go power I used too.

I was checking one out at the show in Toronto. The sales guy said they have made some improvements to the clunky transmission. I'd have to ride one again to verify that before I would buy. The only other thing I didn't like was that there is no factory communication system or CB, but that can be rectified easy enough, $$$.

Leveling Links on Pinwall?
Gary N. replied to Wade 2000's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Kind of hard to tell from that picture. The stock links look like a dog bone and most of the leveling links I've seen are straight. There is only about a 1/4 or 3/8 inch difference in length so you can't see that in the picture.
