Any updates on this problem?
-
I knew that name sounded familiar. He used to be a member here and remember helping him with his RSTD at Carl's MD a number of years ago. He had a custom paint job done on his bike with a million skulls painted on it.

It would work a lot better as a contact list if folks would list their phone number and town on the balloon.
-
I see you have moved into the local fire hall. Tired of feeding the pond monster?
-
Working good now Don. I think it would be better if members listed their contact info so it pops up right on the map instead of having to go to their profile. If they are offering VR assistance that is. I think that's what the map is all about right?

If the idea of this is for quick reference for help on the road it won't be much good if members on the map don't list their location and phone number. And I don't see any balloons on the map. Wouldn't if be better to zoom in on an area and see who lives near by instead of searching through a list with no location or phone number listed?

My State Farm insurance card says right on it Canada and USA. You might want to check on medical coverage for out of the country too. Exchange currency at your bank before you get here. It's usually the best rate. Most places in Ontario will take US dollars but they will burn you on the exchange. M/C or Visa will work but they do charge the current exchange rate. I'm not sure if you can walk into a CDN bank and exchange currency without an account but you may be able too. There's lots of great back roads between NC and Ontario. I suggest you cross the border in up state NY on the east end of Lake Ontario somewhere to avoid going through Toronto. Not impossible but not fun on a bike.

Help! AntiFreeze pouring out of bike!
Gary N. replied to bostonlawman2003's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
It's a common problem. If you still have the plug some guys put a dime over it and replace the cover. To me that's just a quick fix. The plugs are available from Yamaha. Normally just screw an old spark plug in the threaded hole and pull them out. Good time to change the antifreeze if you need too otherwise you will lose a little from each plug when you pull them out. I think there's a how too on here somewhere. -

I had an interesting problem the other day. I could smell fuel leaking near my bike and noticed just a little wet spot in the "V" between the front and back cylinders. I had this once before a few years ago and Sea Foam fixed it. So I decide to ride to town for a can of SF and after half a turn of so the engine locks up due to too much fuel in the right rear cylinder. I pulled the plug, cranked the motor to get rid of the fuel, changed the oil and did the Sea Foam treatment. Seems to be ok now. I had stored the bike (about two months) after a Stabul treatment and running the carbs out of fuel. Don't know if this caused my problem or not. Maybe it's better to leave the carbs full when storing the bike?

Did you install your own hitch or paid to have installed ?
Gary N. replied to AngryAmish's topic in Trailer Talk
Built my own and installed it myself for less than $20. -
The cost of registering a motorcycle in Quebec !! OMG !!
Gary N. replied to AngryAmish's topic in Watering Hole
Well, I don't know me, but if that includes insurance, I'm moving to Quebec eh. $557.53 is less than half of what I'm paying in Ontario. -
We decided to get in the space shuttle and go looking for Spring. We found it here in Texas.

Has anyone run a 170/80-15 rear tire

These folks put WWWs on car tires. http://www.dbtires.com/ Not sure about bike tires. Might be worth a call. -

I accept, I'll have a Shiner Bock and I'll be in Texas this weekend until the first week of May. -

No difference at all. Some people just don't like washing their bike or their car for that matter let alone their wheels and tires. To me if the tires are dirty the whole bike is dirty. Only takes a couple of minutes to jack the bike up and scrub the rubber and the wheels. -

I will respectfully DISAGREE with that statement. 65000 + miles on my '06 and 75000 on my '03 before that and they both always had white walls while I owned them. Not that I have never trailered my bike but I also ride it. And I keep it clean. They are not hard to clean but you do have to stay on top of it. Only takes a few minutes unless you let them go too long. -

In 2007 I bought a set of Avons in WWW. I had to go to the 130 front but I didn't really like the smaller tire. I don't know if Avon offers the WWWs anymore or not. I bought them at SW Mototire. Since then I have gone back to Dunlop 404s. They work for me. -
Got a lot more accomplished then I thought I would. A good friend who is a professional body man and welder offered his assistance and I accepted. We managed to get the new sub rails bolted into place, the door posts attached to the sub rails and the quarter panels attached to the roof and welded solid. Can't do much more until I get the new trunk lid so we can square up the back of the body. Hope to get the trunk lid in the next few weeks while I am in Texas. Here's a couple of pics.

Passenger brackets needed.
Gary N. replied to HGWT's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have what you want. L & R brackets & bolts with boards. How's $65 including shipping from Kerrville, TX? I'll be there next Saturday the 23rd and can ship them from there. You can send me a cheque or money order to my address in Kerrville. -
Insurance, Ontario and reasonable, all in the same sentence???? You're kidding right? All you can do is drop optional coverage like collision and theft or raise deductibles.

Who has the franchise in Windsor now? I thought Iggy "Power Cycle" gave it up. I never liked dealing there and now it's worse then ever trying to find a parking spot since they moved the street over. I only ever went there for tire changes but now I go to a place in Belle River with lots of parking. BTW, I saw a few bikes out and about today around the county. Still too much salt residue on the roads to suit me though.

LOL ..... good one Bobbie. Hate to say it but been there done that. They cut my leather jacket off too.
-
Which dealer? I've always had good service at Bob's in Chatham.

Barry, someone posted a tip about cutting the bottom out of a plastic water bottle to catch the coolant that drips out when you pull the plugs. Worked pretty good for me.
