  1. I'm easy to find. Just look for the Red balloon.
  2. So after the leak is repaired, will you need a refill? And if so where's the dip stick?
  3. Same here. Welded it up and put a couple of zip ties on at the top to keep everything from vibrating too much.
  4. This is what I use on my motor home. http://www.lslproducts.net/TLSPage.html I have a bank of 6 volt in series for the house and one 12 volt for starting. The TRIK-L-Start decides which batteries need charging and flips back and forth accordingly. I think it was under $50 and it sure made a difference for me especially when the RV is stored for several months at a time because the chassis battery wasn't being charged the way it was before when I was plugged into shore power. I don't know if the battery tenders would work to charge multiple batteries at the same time as most only put out 1 or 2 amps. A larger capacity smart charger might be a better way to go. I'm sure some of the smarter electricians here will be able to give a better educated answer to that.
  5. I'll be heading south in about three weeks to ride the bike most of the winter but in the mean time I've been working on my '32 Ford coupe. It's a long term project because I just don't work as hard as I used too.
  6. It depends on the butt. I've had both types of seats and the pillow top with the "Butt Butler" mod. I prefer the original type seat like the one you have over all. I am using a set of seat beads now on my pillow top and wouldn't leave home without them. So I guess I just like a real firm seat. I've never tried a Corbin but think that might just be the perfect seat for me.
  7. Wow! Be careful blowing your nose Scott. You don't want to be blowing your brains out. Thinking good thoughts for you buddy.
  8. Did you try Flanders? http://www.flandersco.com/ASRC_Handlebars.html Not sure about the RSTD but for the RSV you want the G2 bars for metric bikes.
  9. Very sorry to hear of your loss Scott. Our condolences to you and your family. Gary and Mary
  10. Scott, the tank on top of those hit and miss engines is for water to cool the engine or cook hot dogs. Does either job well...LOL Love those old engines. Don't know a lot about them but love to watch and hear them run. I had a IH 1 1/2 HP for a while. I never really did much with it and decided it should go to someone who would show it off. Mine even had the lid for the water tank which you hardly ever see as they usually got lost over the years. BTW, everyone calls them "hit and miss" engines but a lot of them are not. The real hit and miss engines only fire after several revs, when the rpm's drop. When they are working they fire more regular. Has to do with the governor I think. The one you pointed out is really not a hit and miss and fires every fourth stroke. They tend to run slow and may sound like a hit and miss but when they are working they fire regularly. When a real hit and miss is idling you'd swear it was about to stall and then bang, she fires again.
  11. I think it's the fuel pump. Same symptoms I had. Do a search on here for using an after market replacement pump you can buy at any parts store. I used a low pressure one from Car Quest.
  12. Same on my '03 Sierra. Thank goodness I have a hoist in the shop. Same as you Don, lots of oil, pry bars and choice words before it came down. Now I bring it down once a year and re-oil everything. Real bad design for the salt belt which is about the top 2/3s of the continent.
  13. Good luck Eddie. My first restoration was a '66 C20. I put a 9 1/2' camper on it and toured from coast to coast with it. They're easy to work on and parts are available.
  14. I just did a Google search for the closest CDN dealer and the one in Burlington showed up. It's interesting that the same dealer is listed under two different names. Peak Powersports sells Indian, Polaris and Victory. Indian Motorcycle of Oakville (same address as Peak Powersports) sells Indian. BTW, this is the only dealer listed for Ontario. The next closest is Montreal, Quebec. There are only five dealers listed for all of Canada with two being in Alberta. One other is listed in Winnipeg Manitoba. Few and far between for sure.
  15. Thank you, Puc, for getting this thread back on topic. I was getting so confused. The dealer I went to was Dick Scott in Plymouth MI. They are selling both Indian, Polaris and Victory and all in one big showroom as far as I could see. Maybe they will be making some changes down the road but that's the way it is now. The closest Indian dealer here in Ontario is in the Toronto area. Kind of hard to get warranty work done or buy parts when the closest dealer is over 200 miles away. Canadians can't import new bikes from the states, only used ones so buying new in Michigan won't work unless it's a dealer demo that's already been registered. Then getting warranty work done there wouldn't be as issue. I agree with you, they need to set up a substantial dealer network. It would only make sense to combine the Indians with other Polaris products at already established dealerships.
  16. If I was interested in another cruiser style bike I would consider the Stratoliner but I'm only interested in a touring bike with features similar to the RSV. The topic of this thread is the Indian Roadmaster. Thanks BigLenny for your excellent review. Glad to hear it doesn't shake like a HD.
  17. I went over to Detroit today thinking I was heading to an Indian demo ride. WRONG! It was a Victory demo ride. All I saw on the e-mail I got was "Indian" but when I looked at it again when I got home, sure enough, it was for Victory. Oh well, at least we got to look the new model over good in person and sit on it too. I like it a lot. Not sure I'm ready to go back to V twin air cooled again though. The L E D head and driving lights were super bright. I really liked the way the lower cooling vents worked and the adjustable deflectors on top of the lowers that folded up for cold/wet weather and down for hot. The electric adjustable windshield, heated grips and seats were also nice features. No CB or intercom. Wired for mp3 and blue tooth, what ever those are. Nice storage compartments in the lowers too. It sure is easy to stand up off the kick stand compared to the RSV for a guy with a new left knee. Mary didn't think the trunk looked as big as ours. It does have a quick release as do the saddle bags. So it would be easy to change up the style if you wanted too. If you like heel and toe shifting, you have to buy the heel shifter as an option. The floor boards are big and roomy and the passenger boards are adjustable up and down maybe 3" total. I also liked how the drivers info was displayed in the middle of the instrument panel. It even showed tire pressure. Not sure how easy it would be to read in the bright sunshine. I still want to drive one and hear from others that have.
  18. Maybe soon Evan. We are long over due.
  19. 12 weeks since I got my new knee and I went for a good ride today. Only about three hours off and on but no issues. My knee is still pretty stiff and it is worse when I stay in the same position for too long, like sitting on the bike. So I stopped often and got off and didn't have any problems. I was hoping to do a fall bike trip but I'm really not ready yet and Mary has no plans to get on the bike with me yet either. So next week we are trying a bus trip to the Cape Cod area. This will be a new experience for us. Hope it works out.
  20. Thanks. I tied into the wiring at the connector under the seat. Had to get one of those converter things to go from separate turn signals into double contact bulbs. I didn't really make a rack but just a frame under the Rubbermaid box that plugs into the receiver. That helps to keep the total weight down.
  21. Here's the one I built. FYI anything over about 35 lbs. total makes the handling kind of squirrelly with two up and all bags and trunk rack loaded.
  22. Reading your description I was thinking gull bladder. Very similar. Pain so bad I passed out. Good luck and hope that's your last experience with it.
  23. I did my "in memory of ride" yesterday, Sept. 2 which would have been Leslie and my 42 wedding anniversary. She has been gone almost 7 years already but it seems like yesterday.
