    I cleaned all the bowls, needles, ckecked all floats, reasembled and put back on. It only leaks if the motor is running....Could it be a pump problem?

    I have a gas leak coming out of the drain tube front left next to radiator. Leak only occurs when bike is running. It is an 05 RSV. I have taken the quad carbs completely off, cleaned all the floats and needles....Put it all back together and was going for a ride but again the leak......Any thoughts????

    Captain Joe: Please include me and the bride on this trip....She is really interested in going to the keys but has a work scheduling problem that is being worked on....I hope successfully!! However, a set of definate dates will help......Thanks....lynnjean:fingers-crossed-emo

    Yes, I removed the top of the reservoir and loosened the nipple from its tight position to 1/2 turn.....

    My effort to change the clutch fluid has come to a stop. I can not get fluid down the system from the top, nor will it take fluid from the bleed cock upwards, or 'reverse' bleeding. I feel that there is some sort of blockage but I am not a good enough of a mechanic to go from here.....Any thoughts????

    I am trying to put the head light visor on and I am scared to pull or pry on the chrome piece around the light too much....Do I need to apply more force or is there a 'combination' to getting into the head light????

    There were metz. on my 01 when I bought it.....They performed great.....Bought a set of dun 404 to replace them because of price...The rear wore completely out in 4500 miles....I replaced it with an elite 3....It was performing as it was supposed to when I got another bike, an 05 RSV....This bike needed a set when I bought it and I had heard from some local riders that they were very happy with avon tires......They got the expected performance out of them and realitive high mileage, so I bought a pair......Put them on last Tues. and then found and read about the cracking.....I will be keeping my fingers crossed.......

    The man I bought it from last name was Potter. His friends called him 'Colonel' Potter from the M.A.S.H. show. He was selling the bike because of hip replacements. My bride and I thought it only fitting to call our bike "The Colonel.":hurts:

    I have noticed a 'bounce' to my bike that has not been there before. I have checked the air in the shock and it is holding fine. However, upon grabbing her by the butt and giving her the test, she bounces. Could this be only the shock or is there more to it than this?

    I have a carbtune kit and I feel that my carbs are as equal as I can make them. However, I feel a shaking or shuddering in 5th and even in 4th gear on seemingly level roadway. It makes me think that the motor is 'lugging down' and I really need to down shift....but my speed indicates that I should not have to. When I roll more throttle, it continues to quake until it 'catches up' for a moment. I try to use the cruise and that is uncomfortable.......I know this is a poor effort in explaining what I feel...Is there anyone with a guess as to what I may need to adjust???? Thanks: lynnjean
