Right? Where would I put a pic of me and that beautiful 650. Always had timing chain noise in that first gen.. She sure would eat footpegs and handle like she was an extension of your body at speeds that make me pee a little today.

Was the 500 H1 the 2 Cycle triple? My best friend had one and it inspired me to get the 650.
One summer I ran with some Harley bikers. (Lost three years somewhere in the late 70's) They called me the Silver Streak. Ran circles around them like a Shriner in a parade. Only "Rice Grinder" they'd tolerate. What a summer!

Cowpuc, I will probably get grips soon but have to get a friction cruise. My Venture doesn't have cruise or level ride system. You hang onto grips more than anyone I've ever known, which grips do you recommend?

I had the first KZ650 Kaw in Lincoln, NE back in 76. My buddy had what I began and still do refer to as The Water Buffalo. Suzuki 750 Triple. Ate his lunch every day!

I'm pondering hanging a pair of whatever I settle on lights from below the fairing joint, in front of the long narrow air duct and just outside the forks? There is steel reinforcement that could be beefed up if needed. What do you think?

Fessing up. Remember, I just got on it for the first time on Monday and I haven't had a bike to ride in 5 years...
Took a little 120 mile excursion last evening on that tire. 93 degrees out, 75 MPH max for 20 miles. 30 miles of curving blacktop, 45-55 MPH after missing a very large Doe by 6 feet. Then home again. Now I feel Blessed and anxious to get new tire!

Wabonzi State Park in Southern Iowa. She's running out so well! Missed one big Doe by about 6 feet. Glad I ride like an oldish man. Slow and easy around corn, creeks and crowds.

Did 48 miles just now. This headlight thing is weird. Half light on high beam, solid low beam, most of the time. Sometimes it doesn't come at all but stays on when riding. Runs good with a slight miss at high rpms. Getting used to backward shifting with FOOT boards is dumb IMO.
