  1. They were a mean bunch. I was funny and the girls liked me. And, truth be told, I had access to things they enjoyed. No dummies in Nebraska. Iowa maybe, hahaha. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  2. Right? Where would I put a pic of me and that beautiful 650. Always had timing chain noise in that first gen.. She sure would eat footpegs and handle like she was an extension of your body at speeds that make me pee a little today. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  3. Was the 500 H1 the 2 Cycle triple? My best friend had one and it inspired me to get the 650. One summer I ran with some Harley bikers. (Lost three years somewhere in the late 70's) They called me the Silver Streak. Ran circles around them like a Shriner in a parade. Only "Rice Grinder" they'd tolerate. What a summer! 4. Cowpuc, I will probably get grips soon but have to get a friction cruise. My Venture doesn't have cruise or level ride system. You hang onto grips more than anyone I've ever known, which grips do you recommend? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  5. I had the first KZ650 Kaw in Lincoln, NE back in 76. My buddy had what I began and still do refer to as The Water Buffalo. Suzuki 750 Triple. Ate his lunch every day! Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

  7. Love this description, Cowpuc! "- bringing those air cooled Big Twins of yesterday up to the performance of and relialbility of todays modern day engine standards while maintaining the sound/feel/smell/engine noise/oil leaking/high maintenance needs/ vibrating/heat producing ways of a time long gone by while in the process is just not possible.." 8. If someone can't ride any machine and learn to feel where that machines power curve is than he is not a natural rider. It's amazing to me how many faces of riders go blank when I speak of power curve... Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  9. Well crap. They spelled out Rear and the one I ordered didn't have the R. Plus, I specifically asked for the "Mostly Round" one. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  10. Ordered the tire shown. Got an R230. Is this one a radial? And what is the diameter of handle bar on an 83 Venture 1200TK so I can get a cruise control? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  11. I haven't snored since my divorce! (At least that I hear about!) Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  12. I can still sleep on the ground! Just can't get up again! Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  13. I just want to take a second and tell you all how much I appreciate you. I've been involved in Christian service organizations that didn't have the heart to serve each other that you've all shown. always there with help, with a word, a video and or a part or lead. Just plane spoken folks eager to share their passion. Thanks! Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  14. It's parked! I promise! Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  15. This one? https://www.amazon.com/Shinko-777-Rear-Tire-Blackwall/dp/B00T6J69ZG Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  16. I'm pondering hanging a pair of whatever I settle on lights from below the fairing joint, in front of the long narrow air duct and just outside the forks? There is steel reinforcement that could be beefed up if needed. What do you think? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  17. Fessing up. Remember, I just got on it for the first time on Monday and I haven't had a bike to ride in 5 years... Took a little 120 mile excursion last evening on that tire. 93 degrees out, 75 MPH max for 20 miles. 30 miles of curving blacktop, 45-55 MPH after missing a very large Doe by 6 feet. Then home again. Now I feel Blessed and anxious to get new tire! Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  18. That's an old Continental. There's a Shinko 240 on the front. Should I match them? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  19. Wabonzi State Park in Southern Iowa. She's running out so well! Missed one big Doe by about 6 feet. Glad I ride like an oldish man. Slow and easy around corn, creeks and crowds. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  20. I've put just over 125 miles on it since yesterday. Bikes doing great after 2 years sitting. Would you ride on this tire until a new one gets here or not? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  21. Need a grip cruise control. Which do you recommend? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  22. Did 48 miles just now. This headlight thing is weird. Half light on high beam, solid low beam, most of the time. Sometimes it doesn't come at all but stays on when riding. Runs good with a slight miss at high rpms. Getting used to backward shifting with FOOT boards is dumb IMO. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  23. Gas gauge is intermittent. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  24. No lowers on her yet bit I'm heading out. Headlight is funky. Off in neutral but stays on when riding. Doesn't know if it hi or lo beam. Temp gauge says hot but still just over halfway up the green. Just about 2/3 way to on gauge. Mechanic says to find new fuel pump relay cause this one works but rough condition. (He thinks it'll short on the wrong bump?) Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  25. Wheelies in 3 gears. Whoops! Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
