Good audio setup on a 1st gen?
s.tyler58 replied to Cory4366's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Bluetooth from my phone with Tone's headset. It's easy to control the Bluetooth from the tones controls laying on your shoulders. I haven't figured out how to be able to use it to make calls yet because of the noise but for listening pleasure it's hard to beat. in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye. -
Something tells me the guys are going to want to be around to see the night that we finally meet! in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye.

little oil drip
s.tyler58 replied to SpencerPJ's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Yeah I had some oil when I pulled the cover off. But what's dripping out of the thing as hydraulic and it's running down the back side of that case from where the push rod goes through. The wiring up front is pretty oily though. We did upgrade the cooler on the stator so I wonder if that might be coming out where those wires go in. Also is that drill hole normal? in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye. -

You don't happen to know of part number for the pushrod seals do you? I can't find a diagram of these parts anywhere. There was also no Crush Washer on the bottom Bolt. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk -
A friend on here explained to me that the JIS are square-cut inside curve between the teeth versus an American metric which is rounded on the inside of the teeth. And the angles are different. I've still been trying to find some on the Shelf locally. I need to just order some I guess. in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye.

At the worst, we could get one bike running out of the two and take turns riding! Fremont's actually a pretty nice town. 15-20 minutes from Omaha. It isn't Papillion though. in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye.

Does the oil level need to be lowered or drained for this? in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye. -
I had kept my youngest son's address at his mom's house on my bulletin board for 8 years. Cleaned up the bulletin board one day and decided what I don't need that anymore he's off to college. Threw it out. One little piece of paper gone! Not three days later my sister-in-law called wanting Mason address to send something to make sure he'd get it! The other item was a thing for work. Thinking I don't need to move this thing around all the time anymore after 10 years, I threw it away. 2 weeks later I had to buy a new one because I needed the exact thing I had thrown away. in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye.

That's interesting. Two such varying perspectives. And I'm not claiming either is better than the other, but there just isn't any Thing in this life that I wouldn't shuck today. The souls that I might stay for (having made decisions of they're own) will be there anyway, eventually, so that's no biggie. Don't take this as a death wish it's just I'll happily leave it behind, I got nothing left to prove. But don't get me wrong, no matter how long I get to/have to be here, there's a whole lot of stuff ain't nobody taking from me! in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye.

Somehow I think that once we move to that Eternal life, we will be so overwhelmed by the presence of the One True God and His Son, is that none of the junk we think is so important now will even be missed. Prepare to be astounded by pure love, pure Justice, pure Truth, forever. in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye.

As a newlywed I carried a a picture of my beautiful wife with me in case I was ever tempted. When I got older, I took a picture of all my s*** and carried half of it with me in case I was tempted. in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye.

Still wondering about radiators
s.tyler58 replied to s.tyler58's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I've got a line on a good radiator. Sometimes I just get crabby. Been cleaning my office all afternoon evening. Little dog's looking at me like that's enough. I hate when accreditation time rolls around. Operating a home health care business isn't as easy as it used to be. The good thing is, the rules are spelled out, and all you have to do is comply to the standard of the rule. No points for being over and above, just penalties for not meeting the standard. You've probably all had prostate exam by now... with the benefit of lube.... all so I can get reimbursed 25% of what we used to get paid 20 years ago. Ah crap, I'm whining again. Buddy's right, it's time to go home. in the Eternal scheme of things, this isn't even the blink of an eye. -

Same old story... You could save a lot of money by doing the work yourself. All you have to do is buy $179 soldering setup. That you're going to use three more times. Ever Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk -

Yeah but this time I didn't have to take it apart. And my paint cracked when I put it together last time but it's over all white. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk -
I'm not even positive she's a she at this point. Like a dog it takes some time for them to reveal their names. Took a little over a month for Bacca, aka Chewbacca to turn into Bud. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

My 83 called to me for about three months before I rescued her from the P.O.. He was a neighbor that wasn't tall enough for it. He dropped it on it's side in the yard one day and left it like that beside house for a year and a half. Finally he got her picked up and moved it next to his shed, which then made it visible to me for the first time. One stormy day the tarp blew off and for a few month I'd see her sitting there every time I looked out my kitchen window while doing dishes. At first she just smiled shyly, flipped her hair a couple times to let me know she was interested and then one day, she tired of my not picking up her signals, lured me down the hill to get a closer look at her. When I finally laid my hands on her, a shudder shot threw us both! Sort of like a shelter dog who's facing the gas chamber, I rescued her! We've been frustrating and loving each other for a year now. Without the folks on this site, I might have tossed her out, but these guys are awesome with tips and videos and parts and experience! They've even inspired and coached me into doing the work myself which has been very rewarding. You're starting out in a much better place and I wouldn't be afraid to jump in on that 2nd gen. Me and "Farm Truck" had a rough first year while chasing down her issues and nursing her back to health, but the entire time we've been sharing our dreams and visions for life together on the road. Spring's coming and we're both getting a Little giddy about what it will bring. Good luck. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

This is all I know for now. The picture of the top left corner where the fill tube is is spillage from the Overflow having been broken off. I've repaired it three times. It tends to come back from my mechanic with it broken off. The top right corner is the leak I'm concerned with and I haven't gotten close enough to be able to tell where it is exactly. from Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk -
Passed by a strange looking Yamaha rider lately?
s.tyler58 replied to RandyR's topic in Watering Hole
Why in the world would a motorcycle need a robot driver or why would a robot have any interest in a motorcycle at all? That's just too weird for me to even contemplate. Does it have a cooler in its torso that you can get into while riding behind it? Then I might let someone drive me Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk -

Still wondering about radiators
s.tyler58 replied to s.tyler58's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
So it turns out that Ron's Radiator Repair, that's been on the corner in downtown Papillion for about 40 years, doesn't do radiators anymore. He told me about a couple places to talk to but he did say that it might be cheaper to get a used one off eBay for under 50 bucks. A used radiator to me seems a little scarier than a repaired radiator that I know... Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
