Ask what the ash content is on his $190/ton pellets. WoodPellets.com has .52% for $249 with free delivery. The higher the ash content the less efficient the pellets and the more often you will clean.

We've been burning a pellet stove for several years. We tried mixing in some corn but it didn't burn as efficiently. We go through about 3 tons of pellets a year. Woodpellets.com has free delivery right now. It's a whole lot cheaper than running our natural gas furnace.

I'm originally from Los Angeles. When I left there in 1984 I didn't think I would be happy without 5 million of my closest friends around me. I have since seen 46 of 50 states and am very content with my town of one stop light, a convenience store and 1300 people. I don't mind visiting LA but when I do, I am even more thankful for where I live now. I love to visit NYC but am very happy to leave it (I don't ever drive in NYC - trains and subways!).

Thanks for all the input. I'll chalk this one up to my inexperience on wet roads.

I love my iPhone 3g. The camera on it is very good. I have never had a coverage issue or problems with dropped calls and I travel quite a bit.

Is that a bad thing? For my own safety, how would I identify a butter head if I see one?

Thanks Goose! Good points!

I'm sure that has something to do with yesterday's near-whoops. Maybe 90% of it is half mental but they just don't seem to hold on very well on wet roads. I dunno. I'll see what happens next year when I need to think about replacing them.

Pressure Washing your Laptop, Highly overrated

I wish you would have suggested that a couple weeks ago when I had to give three cats flea baths. The scars are healing, thank you. -
I almost did that at toll booth getting off the PA Turnpike last weekend. Put my foot down on an oil slick.

Dang. They removed the video and I missed it. I have a horrible fear of heights. I'm sure it would've given me a case of "the willies" Edit - It's still on YouTube if you search for it. Wow!

I have had Venoms on my RSV for about 7k miles. I maintain them well and there is plenty of tread front and back. I rarely ride in the rain but yesterday morning the roads were still wet from some overnight rain. I turned left at a stop light and came oh-so-close to laying her down. It wasn't just this one time but it seems to get very squirrelly on wet roads. I love them on dry roads but I think when I put new shoes on her next time I need to go a different route.

Pressure Washing your Laptop, Highly overrated

We, or at least I, appreciate the helpful hint! I would never use a pressure washer. The dishwasher should work just fine. -
And the guy went through a construction zone at that speed! They wouldn't have caught him except there were three trucks blocking the road and he had to stop. The article said they would release more information when charges had been filed.

I hadn't seen Yammer on here lately and thought maybe he was scootin' through PA when I saw this in the York Daily Record: State Police do not keep speed records. But if they did, the motorcyclist clocked at 147 miles per hour last night on Interstate 81 in Silver Spring Township would likely rank high on the list, police said. Was that you Dan?

Anything around Seneca Rocks is fantastic riding. Route 33 west of Harrisonburg is a great ride. Further south, mining country like Welch is nice roads but watch out for the trucks and four wheelers. Anywhere near Yammer Dan's house is nice. You can tell you're near when you hear the distinct sound of someone trying to start an old first gen.

Where in West-by-Gawd-Virginny are you headed?

Gotcha. I like the 12v in the trunk idea. I think my list of winter projects is beginning to grow.
-
My problem with that is that I have my XM running into the 12v outlet. I tried putting a splitter on there but that created two problems: 1) I can't turn completely to the left and 2) vibration would cause either the splitter or one of the two lines to fall out frequently. I don't have any issues if I run just one accessory to the plug. I ordered the USB mentioned by Dray. I'll use that for the iPhone and hardwire the XM inside the fairing. I still like the thought of a USB in the fairing and maybe in the Spring I will go with Joe's idea. But this will get me going for now.
-
Dray - that is awesome! Sold! I currently have my XM going into the 12v socket. I'll hard wire that and use this USB plug for the iPhone.
-
Joe - that looks exactly like what I want to do. Thank you!

I want to put a USB port in the fairing of my '07. I will use it to power an iPhone. My question for any shade tree electricians is: Can I just run the USB straight to a power source? Do I need to regulate voltage going to the port? I don't care if I fry the USB port, I just don't want to fry my phone when I plug it in! Thanks in advance for any advice/tips/warnings!

I posted a classified but wanted to post here too...I met a person with a 99 RSV who is looking for a complete trunk with passenger backrest. Let me know if you might possibly be able to help him out. I will talk him into joining this group!

and you thought this was going to be a simple task...
