  1. Happy to hear that pride was the only thing injured! Hope your son is back on the road soon!
  2. Fear not! You are not alone. My wife is very claustrophobic and cannot/will not wear a full face helmet. She wears a 3/4 with a shield and has not had any issues since. You might even go 3/4 with a visor and have nothing at all in front of your face. As for leaning - DON'T! Stay where you are and enjoy the sights. If you do anything at all, just look over the drivers inside shoulder. But don't lean or otherwise be shifting your weight. If you stay relatively still in corners, Vic will quickly learn to adapt to the extra load on the bike. Get a communication system. You can talk and point out the sights along the way. Don't talk too much though - Vic needs to focus. Put on your favorite radio station and sing along. If you're a bad singer, don't sing too loud. Vic won't like that. Or, better yet - get XM/Sirius or MP3 music. Don't look down. The road zooming by at even 40 MPH can be intimidating. Enjoy! My wife and I love our riding time together. I hope things improve for you.
  3. I grew up with... Pico and Sepulveda - Pico and Sepulveda - Pico and Sepulveda La Brea Carrrrrrrpets
  4. Gary - I got home from work and had to ask my wife for more help. She grew up near there. She says...Gotta go to Bushkill Falls! She'll see what else she can come up with but that is her number one (unless you want to visit her mother in Wind Gap).
  5. Gary - Northeast Penn is a beautiful area. I haven't spent too much time there but I drive through there often. There is Steamtown in Wilkes-Barre if old trains is an interest. There are a lot of areas to hike and fish. Not much help I know. But - one thing I do have some knowledge on is NYC. I would recommend parking your car at a New Jersey Transit station and taking the train in. Get subway passes for the day and see the city. Go to Central Park and Ground Zero. Take a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. Empire State building, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island are all well worth the time, in my opinion. You can get the train in Port Jervis which isn't too far depending on exactly where you are staying. But do take the train in - it will save on the headaches and expenses of having a car in Manhattan. Google NYC transit or NJ transit and there are several sites with train info such as http://www.mta.info/mnr/html/mnrmap.htm
  6. Now that is a good responsible person!
  7. So, I'm in my cage behind two crotch rockets, I see one guy doesn't have a helmet on. We've had the discussion - don't need to go there. I think it's silly but that's me. BUT - the guy also has sneakers on...I've been guilty a few times myself...BUT - he has shorts on...don't think I've ever done that. But by itself - not a capital offense...BUT he has no shirt on - I've NEVER done that. Looks like it could be painful...AND, as I sit behind him at the light, his rear tire is down to the steel belt - the ENTIRE circumference of the wheel. Is this a disaster waiting to happen or WHAT? I don't get it.
  8. Ride safe bror!
  9. Does this do it for you? http://www.sheetmusiccatalog.com/song_search_results2.asp?song_number=470450&category=00&song_title=Let's%20Do%20Something%20Cheap%20And%20Superficial
  10. I love it! I hope one day to steal the idea from you. That really does look sharp. Dizzy Dean once said, "If you can do it, it ain't braggin'!" You done it. Brag about it!
  11. And there is this site: http://www.sundaymorningrides.com/ If your GPS is capable (mine isn't) you can even upload the rides. Don't forget to tell us Pennsylvanians where you're going and if you want company!
  12. Our prayers are with you brother. I wish I could do something to help. The good Lord has a habit of helping out. Best wishes.
  13. I like the "Favorite Rides" and the "Stayin' Safe" section of Rider. But they don't cater specifically to touring. They do have occassional ride tests (not RSV of course). I am also looking for something that would be more touring-centric. But, overall, I like rider.
  14. The White Werevolves are well represented here!
  15. I'm glad my wife can ride with me, she is "Momma of the White Werewolves"
  16. Eddy - glad to hear you're almost back on the road. I don't know what to look for but I thought maybe if I bumped you back up to the top maybe some late risers could help you. Ride safe!
  17. I am Ol' Ironhorse of the White Werewolves MC
  18. I love Snopes! Sorry Hipshot. http://www.snopes.com/autos/law/ticket.asp says Not True. I have become so skeptical about things I hear anymore I always go there to check things out.
  19. I just know from my former life in auto parts, when the answer is "yes" to "is it a California car?" That means they have to special order it. Or, you could ride to CA!
  20. From a previous life I had in auto parts - finding parts outside CA may be difficult.

Hey I get to do this for the first time....AVONS! I just put Venoms on my 07 a couple of weeks ago and love them. All you need to do is say, "Avons, turn please!" and they do the rest. Stick like glue in the corners though the first 100 miles were a little slick. There is a road I ride every morning to work with deep ruts from heavy trucks. The BRICKstones had a hard time staying on track - the Avons don't know the difference between that and a flat road. IMHO - AVON!
  22. Yeah - something like that! Tours are Monday - Friday. I can take a day off to do this. If we can get to 10 we get a group tour.
  23. Fun video but...not true! http://www.snopes.com/science/cookegg.asp
  24. I see bumper sticker flags and window decal flags from other countries all the time. I take no offense to someone proclaiming themself to be Venezualan. I am certainly not offended by a Canadian flag. I would hope I wouldn't offend anyone for flying an American flag in Canada.
  25. Uffda! It will also cost you some lefse!
