  1. I had to replace the O ring on mine. Remove the screw from the side and pull plug out. Be ready for the detent ball and spring to fly away.
  2. Hey Yammer Dan your WVU team is playing our MSU first round. Makes a lot of sense they're going all the way to California to do it.
  3. Our local Murray State Racers are goin dancin!!!!:dancefool:
  4. Got the new Commander II, Skydoc clutch upgrade, Mic-Mutes, and waiting for the Amplirider. Add all these to the Edsets splitter and Bluetooth receiver, do an oil change, carb synch, fluid check and we're ready to pack up and roll. Gonna wait until about time to roll out to choose the route, all depending on weather. Blue Ridge, Natchez, Alabama, Florida, Georgia? Who knows. Bet it's going to be fun. :7_6_3[1]:and hopefully none of this:mytruck:
  5. I've let hay cutters cut my field in the past. I didn't get paid in cash but I saved time, gas, and the headache of mowing it. Just look at it as time and gas not spent on the tractor can be spent on two or three wheels. Having said that I don't have 13 acres, that much hay may bring in even more $$$$ for bike gas. They do the work, take the hay, and you don't break a sweat.
  6. My Commander II should've come in today. I tried to find the 888 before I ordered it. I could only find the 888 in a 130 series.
  7. Did you find OEM rear tire size in the 888? I have them on my 1st gen but haven't seen it in the 150 series for the rear of the 2nd gen.
  8. I ordered the Commander II today. If I get anywhere near that mileage I'll be tickled. I think my biggest problem is my right hand and love of torque.
  9. I too am looking at new rears. While I know there is a correlation between the right wrist and tire wear the Shinko hasn't impressed me. Really thinking dark side but don't want to lose ride height. The Shinko isn't completely worn out but we're leaving on a 2000 mile run so it's getting replaced. Like my Metzler 888 on the 1st gen but can't find one for the RSV.
  10. Gonna look into that, thanks.
  11. Agree with the recommendations but if you get an older small tractor without a live pto invest in an overrun clutch for the pto shaft. It'll keep the bush hog from pushing you during a fast stop.
  12. I wish we could be there. School is back in session in early August and that's the time frame when my prop business is hammered and it's all hands on deck to get the last shows out for the fall season. She is set on the Spring break trip in April as the youngest is going on a school trip so we're without kids for a week. I'm trying to put 2-3 routes together for that week so we can choose last minute depending on weather. Thanks for the invite, it's on my list for retirement in a couple years. We're gonna try to make Don's MD in June, and maybe one more before school starts this year.
  13. Hope all is well with your niece. I'd love to retire without ever seeing another one of these things.
  14. I'm hoping that the slow speeds there will distract her from the speeds we run the rest of the trip. This is sort of a test trip for her to see how much traveling we can do on the bike after retirement, we're both on the countdown. I think I've had about enough fires and wrecks and hope she's about done with the 3rd graders.
  15. That's my underhanded tricky plan to make her like the ride. I hope to spend a lot of time on the bike out west after we retire. I have to get her hooked on the bike and then figure out how to get her out of the classroom, teachers have a tendency to get addicted to the school and stay forever. I'm glad she enjoys her career but 30 years should be enough by my thinking. (then again I never was the star pupil)
  16. Yeah those high elevation temps are what I was wondering about. She loves the natural sights but not the cold.
  17. Boss wants to take a trip the 1st of April. I've heard a bit about the BRP and thinking of riding from somewhere around Asheville south and meandering over around Fall Creek Falls before heading home. Having never been there I'm wondering if it's an April Fools trip that early in the year. Are the temps usually warm enough by April to be playing up on the mountain or will she be smacking the back of my helmet all week to head south? The original plan was Florida but I don't want the whole time riding to get there in time to turn around and head home. This will be her first ride longer than a few hours so I need to make it good. No heated seats or gear.
  18. I've got it too. I just ordered the Skydoc kit. I installed it in my MKII with good results so going that route again. Ordered Mic-Mutes and Amplirider to make it a day of upgrades. :mo money:
  19. I have used cutoff wheels on a grinder to cut cast pipe cleanly and easily in the past. There are also abrasive reciprocating saw blades that do a decent job to cut it without breaking it.
  20. A lot of these bikes run way up the temp gauge before the fan kicks in. I would check for voltage and cross out the plug at the temp switch to test the fan before pulling it out. Might save some headache.
  21. Whaddya mean by that? I don't ever remember forgetting anything.:banana:
  22. 34 and rain today. Had a one afternoon riding season.
  23. We usually don't have enough cold weather to keep us parked more than a week or two at a time, not so this year. Hoping it gets a little better soon. We're planning a trip south the 1st week of April, and trying to free up time to make Freebird's MD. Getting a little stir crazy right now.
  24. This pic is at Kenlake State Park. We're about an hour east of the Mississippi River. (45 minutes on the 1st gen)
  25. One warm and dry afternoon finally. 25-30 mph winds but still a good afternoon. Wet and cold coming back tomorrow.
