We just got back from a 4 day trip, this nailed it perfectly.

Snow tonight in west Ky, 70 degrees by Friday. Worked outside today in a t-shirt, heavy coats tomorrow.

I'm saying Kermit. It really reminds me of those toy frogs from the 70s. You pulled them across the floor and wheels in the back legs made em "hop".

I think you'd need to paint it green. Looks like a frog to me. I ran across it for sale on FB not far from me.

Congrats. Hope you have days like we had today. I took this from the top of Pine Mountain. We've been across Ky and down into Tennessee since yesterday. Weather permitting we may slay the dragon tomorrow.

I'm not even gonna say anything.

Last few days I got the Amplirider, mic mutes, and the Skydoc clutch installed. Spooned on a new rear tire, checked all fluids and today got the luggage packed. Tomorrow me and momma are gonna head out for five days of CTFW. If you see a blue (best color) RSV loaded down and 2 up running around KY, NC, and Tenn give a big wave.

We're heading out Monday morning. Looks like we will head due east through Ky, see some mountain roads, then jump over into North Carolina and play a little. We'll try to get down into East Tennessee Tuesday evening and head west toward the storms. If I time it right the rain will pass us by during the night and we can head back out Wednesday morning seeing the sights slowly heading back west and home on Friday. If anybody is around Asheville, Gatlinburg, Nashville and points in between maybe we can meet over coffee and a meal. Loose plans based on the current weather maps, we'll play it by ear checking the weather often. May make a part of the Blue Ridge yet. 5 days of disconnect therapy badly needed.:7_2_104[1]:.

I totally agree about tomorrow. However I'd rather stick to a tried and true ride for a while. I know what to expect from the 2 Ventures I have. Once the new technology proves out I may consider one. Flip side of that is I love what I have and can buy lots of tires and gas for the $25k. They look like awesome bikes and hope they show the same quality of past Ventures. I sincerely hope it's the best bike to hit the road and you love it, it's just not for me right now. The 07 RSV has 38k on the clock and lots of miles left in her. Hope to have 40k on her by this time next week. Enjoy the bike.

No permanent tag in KY. We have to pay property taxes every year for anything on the road except small trailers.

Waaaaaay back when I was a kid we stopped at the Johnny Cash museum. It was closed but outside sat the one piece at a time Cadillac. I think from an old memory that Cadillac built it for him after that song. The other thing I remember is that the flower bed out front had cotton growing in it instead of flowers. My Mom who is almost 80 still has a boll of cotton out of that flower bed. I haven't thought of that stuff in decades.

Great part of being the old guy. You don't have to care anymore. Its also the the fun part of outdoing the youngens at work, I don't have to. Drives em crazy when the gray headed Captain makes a job they're struggling with look easy. Experience and letting the tools do all the work. Then when the Dept chief sees me outdo them he really likes to rub it in. I run the oldest crew on the Dept. The youngest guy on my truck is 47, I love it when we do an all station training and my guys shine. All those 20-30 yr olds will sweat like crazy trying to do the brawn over brains techniques. We're more the smarter not harder thinking guys. It shows on fire scenes too. Some are starting to understand and listen when we teach them something. Funny you mention that. Those same guys call me a freak of nature when it comes to the muscle work. I eat beef and pork, never lift weights, and out work them. They eat fish and chicken and lift daily. They just don't understand muscle and experience earned from years of hard work trump large muscles from a weight bench. They lift a few reps of heavy weight which gives them bulk but no practical use. I'm not unusual for our generation, they just don't get the experience thing.

Everybody is in a rush nowadays, with cell technology most people think it's unacceptable to leave a message you get when you get home. Everything is within reach of your thumbs on a screen. Heck some can't even pull into a drive through to order coffee, there's an app for that. Order it, pay for it, all before you get to the place. I still go into the bank to deposit or cash checks and use cash to buy things inside real stores. I'm one of two people left at work to draw a real check, city's been trying to make me go direct deposit for years. I won't use drive throughs and I listen to a radio station that regularly plays Jerry's Mr. Ford. Guy's at work make fun of me for being a dinosaur, funny part is none of those young electronically connected soft firefighters can outwork us Dino's when it hits the fan on a bad hot one. Having said that I did have to stoop so low to hook a phone up to the bike, if the customer ain't happy the business won't work. That is one of my few concessions to the craziness of this "new" world we live in.

Yes the resister is required. The Skydoc kit has it already in the wire. You just connect it at each end. Just make sure you hook into a circuit controlled by the key switch.

I miss those old ways. Nowadays as the owner of the business dealing with schools all over the country I'm expected to answer any and all questions RIGHT NOW. I'm working on training some new people to take some of the load off me now. Until then it's either answer on the go or not go at all.

The idea is to be able to make/take phone calls thru the helmet sets plugged into the bike. Right now the only way I know to do that is with a Garmin and a splitter cable. With having kids and running a business I can't take off for days without being reachable all the time. I have a hardwired Bluetooth receiver in it for music.

I have an electronics guru friend working on a new Bluetooth set that may possibly let us link the phone in without using a GPS. The idea is start with a Bluetooth adapter like those that plug into a car stereo with a remote mic. In my simple mind I'd think a plug could be connected in place of the mic so the Buddy Rich cable could connect there. Sounds simple to me but I know squat about electronics. Has anyone here tried it? Would there be enough interest in it for him to produce them? If the test works we are looking to make it able to be hard wired inside the fairing with no batteries to deal with. I like the idea of getting rid of the GPS and cleaning up the bars. I use my phone app anyway and only have the Garmin for the phone interface.
