  1. I agree, it's not worth the price but it blows my mind how someone buys a bike and just stores it for years. There was a car dealer here that did it with low mileage used cars, in the end he had a huge building full of low mileage old cars that nobody wanted.
  2. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1987-Yamaha-Venture-Royale/153172820913?hash=item23a9cfc3b1:g:1DoAAOSw8JZblHqu&vxp=mtr
  3. Nope it's not a trailer hitch, it's for the rear rack to haul gear.
  4. It's worth the time to see. There is a lot of information posted throughout the ship, that's what I missed mostly. The wife, our two kids, brothers wife and kids were two rooms ahead of us the whole time yelling "let's go to the ocean". I was never in the military thanks to two crushed vertebrae in a wreck, but love to check out military history anytime I'm near something. Don't consider myself a history buff because I don't retain the memories very well but like to look. I want to make it to Charlotte soon to see a carrier, never seen anything that large float.
  5. Thankful for no major injuries. Good luck for fast healing.
  6. We've done LuLu's, not impressed, more of a tourist trap. The air museum at Ft Walton is cool too, I stopped there last year and got to talk to a retired General that was running it. Heard some really cool stuff. They have the 1st C130 ever built sitting there and it's still airworthy. Took this pic there. That was the maiden voyage for my then new to me 07.
  7. We've gone thru the museum and watched the angels a few years ago. Very cool. Went to the Alabama but want to go again with more time.
  8. The wife is more of a seafood nut than me so I try to make sure and find her a good place when we can. I do tear up some crab legs though. Maybe you can find some mountain oysters in GA.
  9. Thanks. Family wants some beach time, me not so much. Depending on weather I may take the bike also, if so I'll probably run over to Mobile one day to see the USS Alabama again. Last time I was there everybody with me was in a hurry to get to Gulf Shores and I didn't get to take much time touring it.
  10. Glad you're still here to talk about it.
  11. Somewhere around the 28th or 29th I will be heading south to Orange Beach Al. for a few days, probably return on the 4th of Oct. We will most likely run through Nashville on 65 heading that way. Would like to meet members in that area and maybe grab a bite somewhere. A BIG seafood buffet or similar would be great if anybody can recommend one. We will probably hit Dewey's at Ft Walton beach one night and maybe lambert's at Foley once.
  12. The thing I can't figure out is Eileen's Spyder got traded for Eileen's Slingshot that got traded for the SVTC that's getting set up for Don's preferences. That would never work at my house. :happy65:
  13. That'd be great thanks. Been kicking around the idea of building a custom one.
  14. Glad you're happy with it. Hope it's all you want it to be. Now I'm gonna ask a favor. Since you have a second gen setting there to compare, do you think the luggage rack from the 3rd gen would fit a 2nd? I want to add one but I like the flatter style on the new ones better. Hope you get to break it in this weekend.
  15. Where's the ride report and pictures?
  16. Ha ha. My wife doesn't know one gun from another. I have enough she never notices new ones appearing.
  17. Think ya missed something there Snyper. It's brand new with 5 miles on it for $21,000, cheapest I've seen them.
  18. After playing phone tag a couple days I finally got to talk with animal warden today. We're a small town so we only have one. I believe the issue won't recur, she was going after the dogs. Owners just tore down and old ratty trailer on the place so nobody is living there besides the dogs. I doubt there's any insurance on the place so I just ate the medical bills and moving on. I'll take the saddlebag off and take it to my car guy soon, he can probably buff it out. Cool thing here is our town was known as the used car capital of the world before carfax and odometer cutting sent a lot of dealers to jail, so I can get about anything that can be done with paint fixed here fairly cheap.
  19. Congrats on the new bike.
  20. Dealer in NY on eBay. 2018 SVTC 21k. https://m.ebay.com/itm/2018-Yamaha-Venture/232904385610?hash=item363a2ee44a:g:XLUAAOSwM~RbgXia
  21. Glad to see you mention the tech issues. I thought the same thing reading about it then. I left it alone because some took offense to anything said against the new bike. Glad they fixed it. While I like the looks of it I just overall have no interest in them right now. That being said I hope it's a great bike for those that do buy them. I'm old school enough that I expect customer service from whoever sells you any product. That is a big factor when I make large purchases. Too many times one dealer can turn many people away from a good 😊 product with bad service. Failure to replace defective rotors on a 6 month old truck by a local dealer under warranty cost GM a new car sale from me this year. Yes I let the dealer know why I bought my first ever non GM new car.
  22. Glad to hear they stepped up for you Chief, I hope they do the same here. Two months is unreasonable to me. That's what I miss since Oldsmobile folded, I bought a new Cutlass that had two big issues within two weeks of delivery, they delivered another new car to my door and picked up the original. 170,000 miles on that one with no issues. I understand issues pop up with new technology but a manufacturer needs plans in place to keep customers.
  23. The dog is still there but not chasing today. Maybe learned something? Animal control notified. Good news is X-ray shows nothing broken or out of place-bad news is I now have an appt for osteoarthritis. Knew my joints weren't great but had no idea of the arthritis. Depending on severity osteoarthritis is Latin for career killer for ladder guys like me. I liked it better when I didn't know, ignorance is bliss right?
  24. I would be contacting corporate about them not checking it when you first Compained and letting the problem worsen. Then I'd scream for a replacement. No excusing a brand new bike doing that. I hope it ends well and is an isolated thing and not a common issue with them. Good luck.
  25. This one usually runs to the side of the road and barks. Last night he ran right into the side of the bike and my leg. I usually don't react at all to him. I had no idea he was on me until my leg folded. After dark and he's black.
