  1. Wish I could say I wasn't at the CRS stage myself, I re-read the instructions Freebird had in the link when I looked it up or I wouldn't have remembered it either.
  2. Actually shorter links raise the bike. I made mine following Freebird's instructions in the read only library. They work great. 1/4 inch shorter than factory raised the bike about an inch according to his calculations. I went from a Baron's lowering kit that was on the 07 when I bought it to leveling links. Huge difference in the handling, not to mention I'm sort of long in the legs so it's much more comfortable to me. Here is the link to Freebird's links. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?492-Leveling-Links-Raising-the-Rear-of-the-RSV
  3. German engineering at its best??????
  4. I'll be in Lexington this weekend and really like pie. You deliver that far?
  5. It's all I use in my 07 RSV. No problems at all.
  6. You have to split the fairing, move the radio out of the way, and pull the cassette deck from the front of the bike. There are instructions in the read only tech library. It takes a little wiggling and prying to get the door past the inner fairing. Just be easy with it, it's not too bad. I wish I'd done all this at once instead of one piece at a time. I've installed the Edsets splitter(Buddy Rich cable), a 12 volt Bluetooth receiver, Amplirider, and now this charger. Now I can answer phone calls, stream music, and use the gps through the bike's sound system while the phone charges in the cradle. It makes it easier for me to get away knowing my kids can reach me if needed and being able to answer customer calls.
  7. Flyinfool I tell my kids all the time just because you can doesn't mean you should.
  8. I hope y'all keep that stuff up north where it belongs. We got our first frost this morning but it'll warm up in the 60s today. I'm gonna put a few miles in this afternoon. Frosty cold mornings for deer hunting and warm sunny afternoons for riding, it don't get no better than that.
  9. After gutting the deck I installed the charge port and re-installed it, the door still works. The mistake I made was in not realizing it has an internal LED that stays on. I had installed an extra fuse box behind the battery and ran a hot wire into the fairing so I could charge the phone without the bike running. Rather than pulling it back out I added a relay that fires from the factory lighter port so it only works with the key on. I routed on charge cable out the back of the box through the fairing and up the bars to plug the phone in while in the cradle. If I had it to do again I'd use a port with an on/off switch or get one without the LED. While I had it torn down I installed a WOLO horn and finally put on the leather tank bib I won at Don's MD. Weather man says 60's here next week so it's almost time to ride again.
  10. I use the canned fuel for my two stroke engines. It doesn't have all the additives in pump gas. I can leave it in the tank months at a time without eating fuel lines or clogging carbs. My saws get used once or twice a year and always fire right up.
  11. I too finally got around to removing the tape deck. I gutted it and mounted a charger port behind the door. It has a lighter plug and two USB ports and hardwires in. I don't know how much it will be used but I guarantee it will be more than the tape deck. I did find an old Merle Haggard tape laying around and tested the tape deck once, it worked but the wife was screaming before the first song was over.
  12. I'd check into a rental car unless there's a reason to drive his. I bet it would be cheaper than shipping and their car gets the wear and tear on it. You also get the benefit of just getting another car if it breaks down, no waiting for repair or $$$ to fix it.
  13. My sister has a Hannigan triked GL1500 losing clutch fluid. I assume slave cylinder time. Does anyone have any experience what I'm getting into? Never messed with Honda much besides rebuilding her rear master cylinder.
  14. Hey I saw a wing and a Harley at Don's MD. Not gonna say there weren't a few HD jokes but had a good time.
  15. There is a reason this is the only Internet forum I'm a member of. I can't stand the attitudes on most sites. I appreciate the tone that is enforced here and hope to visit several get togethers and meet members in the next few years.
  16. I got a 12 volt Bluetooth adapter from eBay and wired it in the fairing. It comes on with the key switch and no batteries to charge.
  17. I have the Metzler 888s on my 86, no issues. If they'd had em to fit my 2nd gen I would've used them again. Ran a 137 mile parkway end to end in the rain at 80-85 mph with no concerns. Now on the 07 the commander II does fine for me.
  18. Y'all stay safe over there.
  19. I'm with you on the self employed thing Condor, but I've found my boss can also be the biggest ass around.:bang head:
  20. When I posted this I didn't even look at the pictures beyond the first one listed. Definitely looks like she took a nap on her left side. I wonder what happened to her old clothes, did tequila make em fall off? It just blew my mind with the miles.
  21. I agree, it's not worth the price but it blows my mind how someone buys a bike and just stores it for years. There was a car dealer here that did it with low mileage used cars, in the end he had a huge building full of low mileage old cars that nobody wanted.
  22. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1987-Yamaha-Venture-Royale/153172820913?hash=item23a9cfc3b1:g:1DoAAOSw8JZblHqu&vxp=mtr
  23. Nope it's not a trailer hitch, it's for the rear rack to haul gear.
