  1. TCI connections? Maybe check all safeties, tip, sidestand,clutch/gear, etc.
  2. Ignition switch? Wire pinched in triple tree? Loose connection? Loose fuse? Kickstand switch? I know Hannigan leaves kickstand in place, don't know about yours.
  3. Glad it didn't strand you on the MD trip.
  4. I've used a strip cut out of a 2 liter bottle before. Seemed to help some but my seals were shot.
  5. Oh the things I would've done with the phone number he texted from if it had been me. Puc's much nicer than I am.
  6. You can't fix stupid, not even with duct tape.
  7. Moral of the story: Ventures are to be ridden. Trailers are for when bikes are broken.
  8. I recently helped a friend replace a radiator and heater core on a 40k mile car. He was on the road when radiator started leaking and he used a fix in a bottle just to get home. Stopped both up within 300 miles. I don't know what brand he used but I will buy parts before I use any of them.
  9. Take the screw out of the bypass, the plug should pull out to replace the o ring. Be ready for the detent ball and spring to try to fly away. I wrap a rag around it as I pull it out to catch them. I personally shy away from any kind of stop leak in a bottle, it can stop up radiators. Some have had good luck and like them, me not so much.
  10. Congrats. I've got the same blue RSV. Hope you like it as much as we do.
  11. In my opinion you're asking in the wrong forum. NOBODY wants to trailer a Venture. Might check over on a HD site. 😂😂🤣😂🤣😂 they might have experience.
  12. Look in classifieds,member vendors.
  13. I had this very discussion with Marcarl at MD. The family feel and lack of member bashing is the reason I joined here. I don't Facebook or join other forums because it seems they are full of negativity. We all will never agree on one bike being the best, it'd be boring if we did. I like to poke the bear now and again about different bikes and fully expect it back when I do. Just don't take it personal. Starbog caught a few jokes about Harley at MD and then helped to push a Wing to get it cranked. I'm still waiting to hear the jokes from that.
  14. Hey Marcarl I made it home with all my oil and a new filter. Thanks for crawling around the parking lot after dark with me getting oily to help diagnose it
  15. The detour just proved that while two wrongs don't make a right, 3 lefts does.
  16. I changed the oil filter in the hotel parking lot because Bosch changed their deign and it started leaking.
  17. The Bosch 3300 filter that's listed in the tech library cross reference doesn't fit anymore. Got back to the hotel Saturday night and later found a pool of oil under the bike. It now has the convex top like the Purolator. Rockin Robin looked it up and they're made by Purolator. Found an Auto Zone open this morning and got a Mobile filter for the trip home. Funny part is it didn't leak on the way up or most of the weekend, left an oil slick at the Red Roof.
  18. We just rolled in. Thanks Don and Eileen for the hospitality. Had fun putting faces to screen names for the first time. We'll be around some more of these get togethers. Sorry y'all got the rain. We got our soaking on the way up, sun burned my arms on the 9hrs back.
  19. Spending tonight in Florence KY. See y'all tomorrow.
  20. Bad as it hurts me I'm going to have to trailer half way up. Weather is terrible here. Gonna leave the truck at a cousin's place and ride in. We'll get there Friday afternoon. I need the address if anyone can message it to me.
  21. Looked in my parts pile, all I have is the two button controller from an 83 parts bike too. Was hoping I could bring a good one to MD.
  22. While on our Spring break trip Walmart called me, my account was hacked to the tune of a new IPhone. Got that fixed, last week they got my wife's debit card for $1000. Finally got that taken care of.
  23. I put a set on my RSV in April. One of the best things I've done to it.
  24. Sooner or later they all get a "have to" fix, but there's such a sense of satisfaction in resurrecting an old one. Yes there may be a lot to getting one finished but if done right they are such a reliable machine you can go longer than the Energizer Bunny. To me it's like redoing a classic car but cheaper. There's nothing like running down the road knowing Yeah I did that. It's a sickness.
  25. Hope y'all have the weather to get there. They're calling for thunderstorms from here to there this week. Really don't want to cage it.
