  1. Before tearing into it make sure the CB is turned off. It’ll mute the radio if it picks up any signal.
  2. It’s a wired remote. The main radio unit is inside the front fairing. If you open the fairing there is a bundle of large plugs on the right side, make sure all are clean and plugged in securely. That’s where most audio problems are, clean em and apply a little dielectric grease.
  3. You shouldn’t need to pull the clutch if it’s in neutral. If so look at your neutral switch.
  4. Start from cold and check the exhaust temps on all 4 cylinders right at the heads. Make sure they’re running close to each other. They run surprisingly strong on three cylinders. If you have a cold pipe start looking at the corresponding coil, plug wire, and the carbs again. These carbs can be finicky to get right sometimes but once they’re there keep good fuel in it and don’t let it set with ethanol in it. And yes they are a blast to ride and very comfortable bikes.
  5. Finally got to meet Steve S today, my plan was to buy him lunch and barrage him with questions about his back surgery experience since I’m facing one soon. Instead he beat me to the register and paid for my lunch and helped me to feel a lot more comfortable about the surgery. He and his wife spent an hour and a half talking about bikes and experiences with me. Another great VR member. Thanks Steve.
  6. If you can find a piece of copper pipe to use as a backer while welding it up it’ll hold your weld. Then pull the copper out when finished.
  7. Wish you were close by. I have a set of mufflers that came with my bike, too loud for me.
  8. Congratulations
  9. I get mine from Amazon.
  10. Definitely something aftermarket. Any pics?
  11. I don’t know, haven’t seen him since Covid. I think he’s touring into a hermit, won’t come out to see his friends. 🤣🤣🤣
  12. Not too many of us WKY members. I’m in Murray, make a run over here in June and meet several members from all over.
  13. Happy to hear it’s going well.
  14. Sorry to hear that, Im really looking forward to seeing everyone again that we haven’t seen since Covid interrupted our get togethers. I have been talking to another long time member from up north about the possibility of having a get together up there next summer. Hopefully that can come to fruition and we’ll all have a chance to catch up.
  15. Couple hours from the Corvette plant and museum. 1-1/2 hours from Nashville. Bourbon trail is further east of us. National quilt museum in Paducah if you want to learn how to sew. Southern Missouri/North Arkansas has some mountains and riding I hear, we haven’t made it over there yet. Bass Pro Memphis Pyramid if you’re into that. If you’re into fishing hang around a day or two, the new boat should be here by then. Room for 3 or people to fish in it. St Louis is about 4 hrs away if you like baseball.
  16. Slide the rubber boot off the canister and you’ll see the adjustment nuts on each side of a tab. I’ve still got one in the parts bin, I’ll try to get a picture tomorrow.
  17. Behind the left lower fairing. There’s an adjustment on the actuator there and make sure the push/pull cables from the throttle don’t have slack.
  18. Glad it fixed the problem. We ran some errands on the bike today, gonna pre-ride a route tomorrow for the rally.
  19. Replace the points in the old one and you’ll still have a spare.
  20. It’s not on anybody here, unfortunately oftentimes a small business that thrives on customer service gets swallowed up by a bigger business that just worries about the bottom line. I’m sure the product is still good but probably not their big bread winner so it’s a back burner item now. I’m just a stickler for customer service.
  21. Had you hearing checked?🤣🤣🤣 Was the tank full? Possible it was gravity feeding the carbs if enough gas in the tank. I’d definitely check the pump points.
  22. Look under the 1st gen read only page, manuals are there. You can usually find printed copies on eBay.
  23. Ha. No I called him after I found it $7k under list. Guess I’ve been around the wife too long, that 25% off sale got me. It’s a 2023 holdover. Couldn’t find one anywhere on the net in the same price range. They have a couple more if you want one🤣🤣🤣
  24. It’s hidden in the weeds so it doesn’t get stolen. I’m having the motor swapped out for more HP, they put the smallest one it’s rated for on it. Should get it in a few weeks.
  25. We went out Saturday, probably the most expensive 150 miles we ever rode. Spent $12 on gas, $40 on lunch, stopped by a motorsports store and accidentally dropped the deposit on an 18’ aluminum fishing/hunting boat. 😱😱😱. We just planned to look and pick out something to put on our wish list and start saving for.
