Washed and waxed the RSV to get ready to head north and found 2 missing bolts. I explicitly remember starting the windshield trim bolts and then all the fairing bolts last week. I also remember tightening the fairing bolts but not the trim bolts, I sure hope they're not in some bodies tire. The book just says bolts and the parts list online gives a part # but no sizes. Does anyone know the size of the windshield trim bolts that go through the inner fairing? All this to preventively clean and grease the audio connections. :confused07::bang head:

The humidity here is high enough to quench your thirst in the summer, if you leave e-gas in a carb very long at all it will be nasty. All my small engines and bikes have e-free for that reason. I run canned fuel in my two strokes and have never had an issue since I started using it. Ethanol softens and destroys fuel lines on saws and weedeaters, the canned stuff doesn't. It's not cheap at $6 a quart but I only use a couple cans a year.

Yes, the bolt just under the rear of the pad is a pivot point, they fold up. I'm not a fan of the ones that pivot out. We'll test em this week going to Don's and if she's happy I'll have a local upholstery shop make some nice covers. I just wrapped em with black vinyl for now. As you can see I'm not an upholsterer. They also clear the trunk rest by 1/4" when it's open.

Thanks Don, just sharing the idea if somebody wants to build some. It made for an easy fab.

I hadn't found an armrest mount that I liked until I ran across these. They are Bimini top clamps for a boat. I did have to cut away part of the rubber coating on the grab rails and drilled and tapped a set screw in the back of the clamps. They fit nice and tight. They are test fitted in the pic, she asked for them a little too tall I think. I'll let her try them before I cut them down and finish the aesthetics.

Gonna start loading tomorrow for MD, we're leaving Sunday. If anyone coming is interested in the pipes I'll throw em in, free for the taking to get them out of my way. Don't want to haul em all over the country to bring them home though. They're just too loud for me.

Guess I'm lucky, my car tire guy mounts whatever I take him for the bike for free. I did buy my darkside tire there and he mounted it. I buy all my vehicle tires there so he takes care of me.

3 stations here in town with ethanol free. It's all I run local but don't take the time to look for it on the road. I figure the ethanol can't hurt it too bad if it's only in the tank for a couple hours. I can tell a difference in the mileage and it runs smoother on the e-free.

I like ,Berrymans cleaner. Get it at Walmart for $3-4 a can. Pour 1/2 can in and run it, let it set overnight and run it again. See if that helps at all.

As I'm sure you know KY is famous for it's whiskey, both legal and backwoods. Look up the KY Bourbon Trail if you like that kind of thing. It leads to distilleries across the state with tours and tastings. While some might disagree the best bourbons come from here. I worked in a sheet metal shop years ago and might know a little title about still design.

Yep we're gonna brave NY politics and all those Yankees up there next week. I'll give you a yell when we get up that way.

If you drop farther south through ILL you can see the Shawnee Forest, Garden of the God's, Cave in Rock where Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn floated the raft. You can cross the river at Paducah KY or ride the free ferry from Cave in Rock to Marion KY. West to East is the West Ky Parkway which isn't very busy, Hwy 80 is farther south but goes through the older smaller towns. Towns aren't far apart here and hotels are usually pretty easy to find. While in Lexington look for the Castle, it's near the end of the Bluegrass Parkway where it changes to hwy 60.

It does change the friction zone somewhat. I have it in both my bikes and wouldn't change back, especially pulling the trailer. The biggest problem I've had was 1-1/2 hrs of stop n go thru Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, I think my left forearm was twice the size of my right from pulling the clutch.

There's a 1/2 clutch plate in there too. With the upgrade Skydoc sells you do away with the wire and put a full plate in place of the 1/2 and with PCW diaphragm spring the clutch will hook up at all speeds.

A lot of good points. I sometimes like to get up the morning of departure and look at the weather map, whichever way looks best is the way we go. We look at it each evening and morning and turn accordingly. We've found some cool things that way just watching for signs or locals to talk to. That's how we plan to end up at MD just spending a week meandering north east.

After cleaning it up better and studying it with my glasses on I think a passing truck threw something into it. There are multiple small cracks near the bottom of the bag. I have someone looking at Hannigans to see if they have a pull off here local but if not Mike Eycamp has one in I'll. Finding one here would mean I can have it before MD as we're leaving this Sunday and taking the scenic route.

Reading this brings back what Hannigan went through with the GW reverse trike. Some wanted the both the reverse trike and the conventional trike making it a 4 wheeler, or in other words a car. His argument was the bolt on trike kits also had 4 wheels on the ground. I don't know what happened with that.

Not jackknifed, it happened on the road. I boxed everything up that was in the bag and it weighed more than I thought it would. Still don't think it was too much but maybe, who knows.

The banjo bolt holds the line to the master. Pump it a couple times and crack that bolt loose while holding lever and see if you get air. Make sure to keep fluid off the plastic.

Did you bleed the master at the banjo bolt?

I found a car audio shop nearby and talked to the service guy, he cut me a piece of ABS sheet and since he's a rider too he wouldn't let me pay for it. A trip to a hobby shop for some model glue and Lowes for ABS pipe glue and clamp, and Harbor Freight for a cheap heat gun to form thee ABS and I'm getting it back together. I'm gonna leave tape on the outside for the trip home and hope for the best.
