  1. Has it been painted or plastic from an older bike installed?
  2. You do realize that you Canadians sound fast because you measure speed by measly little kilometers while we measure miles right? 100 to you is only back road speeds to us. I'm guessing spellcheck got you changing Opal to Apollo.
  3. Ya gotta speak 2nd gen to understand. I don't know if they make one for them there three wheelers, or if they even go fast enough to need an accurate speedo. I was using the GPS for a speedo and phone call integration but I want it gone. Do you know what that big word "integration" means or do you need an interpreter for that too?
  4. There's just something about the feel of those burners. Guess that's why I never got over about 33 mpg on my 86. Not to mention short rear tire life.
  5. I just received my DRD from Amazon, they've changed the design so the online instructions don't work correctly. The included instructions aren't as clear as they should be so it took awhile to program it. If you order one read the book front to back (4 pages) and be prepared to jump back and forth to do the steps. The orange LED for resetting it referred to in the book didn't exist. Once I figured it out it is dead on now. My next step is to order a Bluestreak from Edsets that will integrate the phone into the bike's audio and I can then get the Garmin off the bars. It's only there for the phone anyway.
  6. There are multiple synch gauge set ups out there for sale for diy jobs, I use a simple two bottle homemade rig. Read in the tech library for instructions, it's not hard to do. You can buy the tools cheaper than 4-6 hrs of stealer labor and do it yourself. I check mine a couple times a year, once you do it once it's quick and easy.
  7. The first adjustment I'd make is to find a dealer that will synch the carbs and only charge for the hour or less that it actually takes.
  8. Are any of those stories true or should I wear my ##it kicking boots? Still working on logistics to make the trip. I did get the time off.
  9. I would start with checking/changing fluid in the clutch and bleeding it. Then check that the master cylinder and slave are working correctly. Does it try to creep forward on level ground with the clutch pulled?
  10. Thanks Tom for the update. I've been chewing on this all day, Bob was one of the first to welcome me at MD last year and I got to meet Becky at their home this year. They're what we know around here as "real people". Prayers up Buddy.
  11. Do you have the air box sealed and filter in place? They won't run correctly without it.
  12. Yes I swap side to side to even the wear but I also replace them earlier than many others. I am very anal about tires and brakes. The tires I pull off of my autos often are installed as used on others. I have worked countless wrecks from hydroplaning and/or weak braking. Many don't think about tire condition being part of the braking equation. Before anybody says it I know I over analyze it and probably waste some $$$ being that way but after you see what we see on the side of the roads you can't help but think about your family's safety. My daughter told me I was nuts recently because while she was visiting I jacked up her car to look at tires and brakes. I only get to see her and the car every couple of months. The wife can't understand how I'm that way and still ride motorcycles so I guess the daughter is right.
  13. Thanks Tom. I looked at the list but we had a good time sitting around the hotel visiting at night so I was looking for the gathering spot. I'll be flying solo this time if I get to make it, school here starts early so I'll have to leave the marm at home.
  14. Since going to the darkside I find myself using more rear brake than ever before. Yes they wear uneven and like stated above I believe it's the nature of the beast due to the hydraulic design. To me it's a small trade off to change the pads more often to get the better braking and control.
  15. I'm a couple hours from there if you're in a bind tomorrow. Give me a yell if you're stuck, number is in my profile.
  16. I'm thinking about trying to sneak away for a few days and make this one. I can get the time off so we'll see. The cool kids in Oberlin stay at the Red Roof, where are they at Chaffee?
  17. No issues with the unit overheating insulated like that? That would be my only concern. Nice retrofit though.
  18. I still have the MKI driver's rest. Would your boy be interested in a swap MKI for MKII rests?
  19. Congrats on the find. I spent a lot of time and $$$ looking for the elusive MKII in that kind of shape.
  20. Wish I'd seen this a couple weeks ago. There was an 01 around here that went for $2200. I didn't have a chance to go check it out but pics looked good (yeah I know) and as looked promising.
  21. I just received my Ringz turn signals from Custom Dynamics that I shamelessly copied from Leo 3wheel. I got them installed and really like them. Gotta do a flasher mod now.
  22. Prayers up Bob and Becky.
  23. I have some experience with well pumps but nada on irrigation pumps. Reading what's posted so far makes me wonder if the pump is supposed to pull from the well or if it's a booster pump to raise pressure coming from the well pump. If it's a booster it makes me think there could be a valve turned off upstream from the stepped on line repair??? Like I said I don't know much about it but enquiring minds want to know.
  24. I'd look at the pipes dropping into the well. Is there a foot valve at the bottom? Bad or leaking valve can cause a loss of prime.
