  1. No problem. I didn’t get by there Monday anyway. Glad you got in touch with them.
  2. Been feeling too guilty to ride during the shutdown. Leaving the wife and daughter sitting home bored seems wrong, taking the wife and leaving the daughter alone is worse. They went to town yesterday to do some schoolwork so I jumped on and ran the Trace through Land Between the Lakes and had a blast. I stumbled on a lady traveling from S Cali to Vermont in a small truck pulling a 5th wheel camper who couldn’t find a place to park the camper for a few days for some R&R and was having trouble with her Honda generator to boot. I helped her with the generator and a Park Ranger found her a camp spot so it wasn’t wasted time. That got me behind in getting home so now I’m in the doghouse for riding without the marm on the pillion.
  3. I’ll try to run by the shop Monday and see if they’re closed for the Covid stuff going on. They’re usually pretty good with customer service.
  4. You should be able to email Hanningan Motorsports and get some answers. They are headquartered here in town and as far as I know in operation.
  5. I use a Ram mount that mounts on the brake handle clamp.
  6. It doesn’t list VIN but if somebody here is interested I can go look at it. We’re a small town, it can’t be very far from me. https://www.vci-classifieds.com/
  7. Wow, he’s evidently kept that hidden well. In the small town of Murray and I’ve never seen it.
  8. Mine hasn’t been rebuilt but it’s groaning a little so Im sure it’s coming. How’s the Sexy II Timer coming along?
  9. What am I picking and choosing? Published medical records say 80% of infected people will show mild to no symptoms. The only people being tested right now are those showing a high risk of having the virus. There is a less than 2% fatality rate of positive tested people in the US. Common sense tells that there is a large number of people with the virus are not being tested since they show no symptoms. Therefore the 2% fatality rate is not a number to use to estimate death unless every person is infected. That is like saying 1% (made up # since I don’t know) of American bikers will crash and then saying 1% of Americans will crash even though the majority will never ride a bike.
  10. Yeah the 2% sucks but when you compare it to the different flu strains, alcohol deaths, tobacco, obesity, diabetes, etc it does take on a different view. While I’m a lucky person with a strong immune system, I refuse to live in fear. If I did I’d quit riding bikes, running boats and fishing and a lot of other things I do. We’ve had several deaths this year on our local lakes but no virus deaths on this end of the state yet. Another thing to think about is the 2% is of confirmed cases, very few are being tested so the true number of cases is actually much higher therefore the fatality percentage will be much lower than 2%. 80% of those who have it show light if any symptoms so how many of those get tested?
  11. Hands down the RSV is more comfortable for me. Two hours on a wing and my knees kill me. I’ve done multiple 17-18 hr days on the Venture. RSV is easier to work on and extremely durable.
  12. Don’t buy the cheap ebay gaskets. Get OEM or you’ll be doing it again.
  13. 80* and sunny around here finally. It’s rained so much the last month the grass floats above the ground. Took the wife n daughter fishing yesterday, ate the results last night. Got the Venture out today and ran 150 miles so all good. There are only two cases of the virus here at our hospital so we’re not hibernating too much. Next on list is to follows DJs lead and purge the house and shop.
  14. You’ve managed to find an old thread. Look on left side between the stator cover and middle gear cover. Clutch bleeder is under the little square rubber cover.
  15. Prayers up.
  16. Memorial ride is off, governor ordered no groups bigger than 10. As far as working I’m pretty sure they’re not gonna send the Fire Dept home. Still gonna ride even if it’s solo.
  17. We just got our first case here, now trying to decide whether to attend a memorial ride tomorrow.
  18. Yep, dealt with Earl a few times. Always been great to me.
  19. Check with Skydoc17, I seem to remember him selling stainless line kits.
  20. We somewhat agree. The virus is real without a doubt, I just believe it has been blown out of proportion. I don’t advocate ignoring it or claim it’s a conspiracy. The reaction may very well be conspired upon. I will treat this like the flu pandemics by washing my hands. I usually avoid people for the most part simply because I don’t like crowds. I luckily have a very high immune system so for the most part I’ll ignore it beyond the basics.
  21. When in June? We may be riding over there too. This Saturday I’m going on a motorcycle awareness/ safety ride. This is the 5th and final ride put on by a local woman in honor of her younger sister that was killed 5 years ago last week when a car ran a stop sign taking out both her and her husband. The sponsor quit riding last year after her son was right behind his buddy that was hit by another car.
  22. On a side note my wife is sitting in an empty classroom trying to answer questions from and trying to help parents home school their children. When this is over, if nothing else, I hope more parents realize what our educators go through teaching their “perfect” student and take a more proactive approach to education and discipline. She spent all last evening on emails, texts, and calls from parents after spending the day in the classroom. I call that a reality check.
  23. OK I’ll try this again. I hadn’t seen Carl’s post first time I tried. I also have looked at the numbers and talked to multiple people in the health care industry. The numbers published show only confirmed cases and deaths. What they do not show is WHO has it and have passed. The elderly and others with compromised immune systems are at risk. The average healthy person will show flu like symptoms and recover. Now how many out there are like me and won’t go to the dr with flu symptoms? I stay home a few days and go about my business. That alone skews the numbers since I wasn’t “diagnosed” I never had it or recovered. If my mother were to get the virus she would be high risk due to other health issues, if she were to pass it would be blamed on the virus when in reality she could pass at any time without the virus. The only death so far in KY exactly mirrors that case. The media has incited panic in the masses pushing the government to overreact, businesses will suffer, parents are losing work with schools closed, the economy will take time to recover, and the same people who wouldn’t have gotten sick in the first place will think they accomplished something. I know my occupation has given me a cold outlook on death but it also gives me a realistic look on life, like Forest Gump said: **** Happens. One more fact on the numbers is that only high risk people are being tested, so we have no idea who else has it and are being treated for flu and will also recover never being diagnosed. Now something else the numbers won’t show is how many people with service jobs in restaurants, daycares, etc will suffer long term effects from not working when in reality they were at no more risk than they were with the flu going around? See the political ramifications?
  24. Dang it. I typed up a fairly long reply Patch somewhat mirroring what Carl said, I also think the numbers are skewed as reported. Some kind of glitch stopped me from posting it. Is Don in on the conspiracy?😳😳😳Ha. I’ll try to redo it later when I have a few minutes.
  25. Girls are gone and the septic works fine. Food in the freezer and guns on the wall. I did see some numbers today from US and China, I still believe this has been blown completely out of proportion for political reasons and things will soon be back to normal. I have a close friend high up in the military health system that is laughing at the panic and says it’s a drop in the bucket as to what it’s being made to be.
