  1. Long story short, there’s a chance I may show up over there Friday evening and Saturday morning. Is there an itenerary Saturday? If I can make it happen I’d like to meet some of y’all I haven’t seen at Don’s or WNY.
  2. Bob was one of the first VR members I met and welcomed me in the group. I think of him often, and usually laugh when I do. Happy Birthday brother.
  3. Those weights are vibration dampers. I’d hate to lose mine.
  4. I have their running lights/turn signals and like them. It looks like you’d have to get rid of the bar weights to use these though.
  5. The only thing I see missing are butts in the seat. Hope you can make time to enjoy it.
  6. Before these 3rd gen spaceships came out the only belt adjustments going on around here were after Dinner.
  7. Depending on clothing I have a Taurus 5 shot .357 snub in an ankle holster or a Glock 43X 10+1 under my shirt. Every now and then I’ll carry an Armi Tanfoglio .380 7+1. When traveling the 357 is in the console beside me.
  8. I made a bracket from aluminum angle and came off the back bolt of the passenger foot board. Later I built passenger Highway pegs and integrated the horn mount into those. I can’t get the pics to upload from the phone.
  9. Here is a deal if anybody needs them. I gave that much for one. He has em listed as 1st gen MKII but they’re 2nd https://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-93-Yamaha-Venture-Royale-Trike-Motorcycle-Left-Right-Saddlebags-Tools/373077379470?hash=item56dd25098e:g:jXcAAOSwE0BezKMg
  10. I’ve got some big ones for play but a new Glock 43X showed up in my kit today. It will join the ranks of my CCWs.
  11. First time I read that my pea brain saw Jackson MS. Not Jackson MI. Wife immediately said go get it (remember what she said about the third gen). Don’t know what’s got into the girl, she’s usually fussing to quit buying toys. Haven’t yet confessed to ordering that new Glock 43X.
  12. When the speedo is corrected the odo will be slowed. You’ll show fewer miles than really traveled. I’d rather have the speedo than odometer being correct.
  13. I’m sure someone will chime in and correct me if I’m wrong but if you bid on another one it needs to be 86-93. I don’t think the 1st gen MK1 and MK2 are the same.
  14. No I decided to pass. It’s a heck of a deal but from the beginning I’ve been against the air cooked V Twin, I’m a fan of water cooled 4s. The technology on it is too much for me, I like simple things I can fix without a scanner. My first impulse was to buy it and see if I liked it then decide to sell one of them, I figured there’s a profit to be made even reselling from new but I’m happy with what I’ve got.
  15. Oh yeah, she’s fine. It was a compression fracture in the lumbar area, dont remember which one. I crushed two in the same area 34 years ago. I can tell her it’ll be a bit painful when she’s my age 😬😬😬. She’s thinking of Ortho surgery or emergency right now, she just finished her neuro rotation and really enjoyed pediatric neuro. I don’t think I could handle working with kids in that situation, it takes a special person. She’ll pick her residency next year. Thanks for asking about her.
  16. Use the factory wires only to power the relay magnet. Run a wire large enough to carry the horn amperage Through the relay to power the horn. Be sure to use the appropriate fuse close to the battery
  17. If I remember correctly mine was off 7 or 8%. The DRD put it on the mark.
  18. You need to run a hot wire from the battery through a relay. Use the factory wires to trip the relay.
  19. Both of mine did well with their first ones. They were decent looking cars but mechanically sound. The oldest wrecked her college car breaking her back. I rebuilt it and a drunk hit it parked in a lot and totaled it. I got her a two year old Nissan with a rebuilt title from a deer hit she’s been driving for 5 years. I hope I’m done buying them cars. One’s about done with med school and the other is starting in aerospace engineering so they should be able to afford nicer ones than I’ll buy anyway.
  20. I’d love to help with the testing @cowpuc but as good as the deal is I’m gonna pass on it. The fact I have a 13 year old bike that I don’t mind riding in the rain or feel the need to keep polished up and looking showy is right up my alley. If I buy a new one I’ll worry about keeping it perfect instead of just riding. I feel the same way about my trucks, I can work em hard and earn a few scratches without hurting my feelings.
  21. I like the Jeep acronym. I didn’t buy an off-road unit, it’s a low mileage 15 Cherokee. I bought one new in 18 for the wife and my youngest fell in love with it. She is starting college in a couple weeks 4 hrs from home and it was time to upgrade her car. I’m a firm believer a 16yo needs what I consider a disposable car, they usually get torn up anyway. Hers was an 08 Avenger that she took good care of so we got her something newer and nicer.
  22. Hey Rich that is something I’ve thought about for years but never did. Google Joe Keeslar, he’s a well known knife maker worldwide and lives a few miles from me. I ran around with one of his sons some back in the day and seen some of his stuff firsthand. Unbelievable.
  23. The secret is to connect the bottles with a hose that reaches the bottom of both bottles and the carbs to hoses that reach just past the stoppers. Only use 3/4 of a bottle of fluid, no matter how off you are it can’t suck it in the carbs. I use about a foot of small diameter hose for an orifice on each hose going to the carbs. It’s not that I can’t buy a Carb Tune I’m just stubborn enough to use my creation. Yeah I’m one of those guys but it works for me.
  24. My first impulse was to just buy it over the phone today. The more I think about it I really don’t need it. I’m a major technophobe and that bike is loaded with technology. Barring a major component breakdown I can fix my 07 on the road with a few tools, not so when you need a computer/scanner to diagnose it. I like the V4 water cooled engine and you can’t beat an RSV seat so I’m probably gonna pass. The money won’t break me but I just bought a Jeep last week and we’re starting a new house next month so the $$ can be better spent elsewhere. I haven’t told the wife yet so we’ll see how that goes.
  25. I haven’t done it yet. They’re calling me Tuesday morning for an answer, I’ll either put a deposit on it then or bow out. The wife says buy it, I’m on the fence. They’re closed Monday, I can’t go until Wednesday. Bike with tax, title, license, fees out the door is $13,700 based on KY taxes. The 07 only has 61000 on the clock and only costs gas n tires to ride. I can buy lots of gas for 13,700. It’s a holdover, not used so full warranty. Decisions Decisions!!!!!
