  1. Is the pump clicking when you turn the key? Fuel filter clear?
  2. Oil from the airbox? Common for bikes overfilled with oil. The crankcase vent blows oil mist up into the airbox and when on the sidestand it pools in the left rear and drips down the carb.
  3. I’ve often thought of building a more modern looking Indycar using a chevy 4 cylinder with a cockpit 2seat setup. Think it’d be a blast to drive up to the DQ.
  4. Thats why said after the bolt breaks off. If it’s broken the tank comes off with no problem and can be put safely out of the way.
  5. Next option I use a lot if it breaks off is to lay a nut over the broken bolt and weld it inside the nut. Almost all back out with no resistance while still hot from the weld.
  6. Maybe that’s Carl’s problem, he has one that doesn’t hold air on that tricycle so it drags him around u turns naturally.
  7. I had a local dealer knowingly sell me a truck with a leaking axle seal, I have a friend that worked there and warned me about it after he saw I bought it. I gave them one chance to make it right and cost them several new sales when they refused. I went out of town to buy my wife’s new car (same brand they sale) and made it a point to stop by the dealership driving it with the other guys name on the plate. Every time I buy a vehicle I take it and show it to the salesman and remind him how much money a $10 part has cost him.
  8. I’m up around 20k on it, hard miles, two up, and lots of miles pulling a trailer. It’s not worn out but I don’t let my tires get anywhere near slick. I was in the tire shop last week getting both Jeeps re-shoed and went ahead and ordered it while I was there. At $60 I don’t mind throwing away a few thousand miles knowing I’ve always got good rubber under me.
  9. If you’re re-doing a first gen bike Earl aka Skydoc needs to be on your call list. Great to deal with and knows that bike front to back.
  10. I’m also running the Nexen rear and Shinko 777hd front. Just ordered a new Nexen.
  11. Our section is called Embarassing Moments and comes with a $5 fine for dropped bikes.
  12. Had a dr once asked me what was special about self employed people that made them heal faster. I’d cut the end off a finger and was back on the construction site two days later, he didn’t tell me not to work after surgery so I did. I think that’s pretty normal for those with commitments and the need to work to eat.
  13. Careful boss. I catch a lot of flack from guys at work about how I work up high, use power tools without guards, and generally ignore safety rules with the exception of safety glasses. I’m a wimp when it comes to my eyes, take care of it.
  14. I typed in Yamaha Venture on FB marketplace and found a couple trikes. One 07 blue in Ohio.
  15. Thanks Don. There is a reason the respect here noticeably present.
  16. I went and checked, I never joined that page and won’t. It’s worth more than a buck a month just to not hear the attitudes you get on most sites. The fun here is just a bonus, the knowledge is priceless.
  17. The clutch button on my 86 was broken in half, if I remember correctly the res light wouldn’t light with that switch open. I don’t recommend it but I tied the wires together, cruise works but it will start in gear without pulling the clutch. The brake switches can also do the same thing.
  18. I second 40s idea on Skydoc’s kit. I went through mine one time, measuring and replacing the shims. I only needed a couple not in the kit that another member sent me. Once done I went thru it again just to double check the measurements. Right as rain.
  19. Scantily clad???? Dang I didn’t bring the bike and we’re going home tomorrow from Huntsville.
  20. I get coffee at a local gas station for a whopping 40 cents a cup.
  21. Thanks, I’m moving my daughter to Huntsville Friday, not sure if the wife can go because of recent surgery. If she doesn’t go I’ll ride the bike and detour through Asheville on the way home.
  22. Same here on guns and ammo, what I should’ve said they only stock long gun ammo and very little of that even when it’s readily available. I went to an Academy yesterday and the only handguns they had were either revolvers or high dollar stuff, ammo shelves were near empty. Their fishing section was nearly as bad.
  23. The Walmart here doesn’t stock guns anymore and has very little ammo. All the surrounding towns Walmart’s keep a good selection of long guns.
  24. starting to see a pattern here? You guys are gonna cost me a lot of money. AAHHHH MonsterBiker you’re starting to catch on. This place is like going to the circus, the $12 ticket to get in is a drop in the bucket to what it costs to stay.
