  1. I raised the rear and stuck with the 150 front. 20-30 miles at a time on the interstate without touching the bars. Low speed handling is fine. If you don’t have long legs disregard this idea.
  2. Happy Bird Day everybody. Gonna eat way too much and take my daughter deer hunting.
  3. Puc ya need to come down here. I’m only a couple hours away from the the Corvette plant. Go over there and tour the Vette museum and drool over over them lookers. Even see some of the cars that dropped in the sinkhole under the museum.
  4. In That situation I’d lay a nut on top of that bolt and using a mig weld inside the nut to the bolt. Let it cool just long enough for the weld to harden, maybe 5-10 seconds and back it out with a socket.
  5. As to your question about carb synch, very easy. There’s a good write up in the read only section. I change plugs every spring and do a carb synch while I’m at it. I usually throw the manometer on it mid year to double check it.
  6. I tried to link someone to the read only carb synch and rear hub lube posts. None of the pics are working. 2nd gen section.
  7. I’m a little too far away to run up and help so have fun with the party. Earl’s kit will hopefully be up and running soon, it’s a HUGE help being able to just swap shims while your there instead of running thru it multiple times swapping them around. I followed the instructions here and the job was a breeze compared to some of the horror stories I’ve seen. I sent a little @skydoc_17s way to help get it going.
  8. Do they have them in stock? Reason I ask I stopped in at the local Kawi shop this week and their showroom is empty. He told me they can’t get new units because the Covid crap has so much shut down they can’t get parts to finish building new units. They are more an off-road business with a few road bikes, but they’re almost dead in the water without new equipment coming in.
  9. You don’t have to apologize here, this place is full of twisted demented minds.
  10. WAIT!!!!! Did I really see a Venture on a trailer in this thread? Travesty....... Travesty I say.
  11. Nice. Hope y’all didn’t have the wind we had over here on KY Lake over the weekend. Sitting on the fishing seat on the boat was like riding a bucking bronc.
  12. Take it to an automotive paint store, they can match it. Using factory paint on an older bike/car won’t match because of fade. Match what you have and it’ll never show. There are multiple shades of gloss black from different manufacturers.
  13. Maybe I need to bootleg a truckload to y’all. $6.99 every day here.
  14. I am one of the members to have used that kit, it made the job much easier and faster. I got to personally thank Earl for it at the last MD. I’m with @Freebirdand will gladly throw a few bucks toward the continuance of this service.
  15. I’m with Jeff but if I waited til May it’d be up to my ears and I’m on the north side of 6ft. Fertilizer is for the garden and I don’t plant those either.
  16. I still have at least one more, we’re back in the 70s here. We rode the last two days.
  17. I usually ride with a tall shield too, having the two piece Baggershield let me play with making new different shape uppers that turned into a game. I was talking to the guy I bought this from and talk turned to wind noise and turbulence on his Harley and he showed me this. I took the upper off and tried it and was impressed, the fact I can flip 4 buttons and adjust it anytime goes right along with my tinkering mind. I can look thru, look over, get more air, less air, etc. Its probably not for everybody but I threw it out there for everybody to see.
  18. Yep. My youngest daughter and I spent a big part of the summer playing with windshield shapes, she’s studying to be an aerospace engineer so playing with aerodynamics was fun. The ones we made with a return lip were best but created a blurry line, this fixes that.
  19. https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/mra-x-creen-tour-variable-windscreen-spoiler-blade?sku_id=1045727 I’m gonna post this here because it’s universal for bikes. It’s a fully adjustable windshield spoiler, you can adjust height and angle without tools. I got one from a local friend (yes I actually have friends) that bought both clear and smoke but likes clear better. He told me he loves it on his HD, I was skeptical but plopped down the cash and holy cow we love it. I clamped it on the lower half of a Bagger Shield, set it just below my sight line, and tilted it out a bit. It acts as a vent and spoiler in one. I have smooth air AND the marm says she feels much less turbulence. I was worried about the lack of width but it works for us. I haven’t used it in the rain yet but have had it up to 85-90 on the slab with no issues. The clamps swivel all directions to fit any curve or use the optional bolt on mounts.
  20. I don’t understand how the Covid became so politicized other than an opportunity to blame someone. A virus cannot be controlled by a politician but panic can be controlled by media. My area has been partly shut down for months, masks required, and numbers are climbing. I may get it, I may die from it but I refuse to hide from it, blame it on my right of freedom or on my stupidity if you want. Now here are some facts, researched and checked: Percentage of deaths of US population. .07% or 1/1500. Percentage of deaths of positive cases 2.5%. I voted for who I believe to be best for the country, not who thinks they control my health.
  21. Thanks Don.
  22. Boy oh boy do I want to reply to that, but being the nice little rule follower I am I’ll leave it alone. No politics here boss nope none whatsoever.
  23. Then you have a Royal Star Venture. Look in the 2nd gen tech library for brake information. 1983-85: Gen 1 MK1 86-93: Gen 1 MKll 99-2013 Gen 2 2018- Gen 3. The gen 2s don’t have linked brakes.
  24. Oh, I definitely voted for the right one, just hope enough others do too.
