After reading more of this I stopped by and grabbed another Gock 48 while the getting is good. $400 including tax.

I think you’ll find some in “poor mans tips” and 1st gen tech. May take a little searching. There are some really good ideas scattered around. I haven’t had to do much plastic work so hopefully a few of the gurus will chime in.

Several posts regarding this. Search in the library. It’s ABS plastic, you can make a putty with ABS and MEK for patching, I used ABS sheet and ABS plumbing glue to fix a broken saddlebag. There are commercial products available Plastex being one. Fiberglass really isn’t the answer.

She’s been battling Alzheimer’s for a few years and it seems she’s at the end of the fight. 80 years and raising 2daughters and 5 sons probably drove her to this. I don’t know how they did it and didn’t kill us. To top it off today would’ve been dad’s 83rd birthday.

The X is what I bought, I already had one but my nephew wanted one and couldn’t find one available. I sold him mine and bought the blue label since it was available. Same gun but only available to LEO, Fire, Military. Really considering going back for a 40 cal just to put in the safe for the future.

People are panic buying everything right now. I just left the gun shop where I picked up another Glock under the blue label program. I looked at a local online sale group, used ones are bringing $100-150 more than I paid new.

Wow. I wish I had the patience for that. My 86 really needs that kind of restoration but will probably be sold like it sits. I haven’t ridden it in a couple years, we like the comfort of the 2nd gen too much.

Not much usually goes bad on the arm. I’ve had good luck buying ebay used parts, just look at the seller feedback for trusted sources. I would replace the bearings in it while there. What happened to yours?

I would post a pic of the snowshoes we use down here but you can’t see the difference between them and our work/riding boots.

If you do that you have to trailer it everywhere.

I throw a .38sp on my hip when out in the woods or messing around places I might kick up one of those rattle headed copper moccasins or such. I don’t think anything about stopping in for a sandwich or cold drink somewhere, people don’t pay attention out in the country stores but look at you a little funny in town with a shooter on your side. Most Leo’s around here encourage packing, they understand they’re usually minutes away when seconds matter.

Yep. One of my firefighters brought a stiletto to work this week he got from Academy Sports. Our permit is Concealed Carry Weapon, not just firearm. That WWII prize would be perfectly legal here. I went to Wally World this morning and saw a guy with a Glock on his belt with extra mags. Not many open carry but it’s legal, I’d rather people not know if I’m strapped or not.

Yep. Ky has always been an open carry state and in the last couple years went Constitutional Carry. If you legally own it you can conceal carry without permit. We’ve had CCW permits since the mid 90’s. Our permits also allow weapons besides guns. Brass knuckles, switchblades, saps, etc.

Have you looked at the Glock 43X? Slightly wider and grip longer, fits bigger hands much better than a 43 and has a 10+1 mag. I bought one a few months ago and is now my CCW go to.

Cool. If you haven’t yet look in the read only tech library how to grease the hub, pins, shaft, etc. It should set you up for many miles of smiles.

Those final drives are usually cheap on ebay. Be a lot easier to just swap in another one.
