  1. I have a friend into hams. I can forward pics to him to get an idea.
  2. The points are the most common issue for the pump. They are easily replaced and if my memory is correct they are around $30. Don’t use the cheap internet pumps, they don’t hold up.
  3. Hannigan uses Ford car rear ends, they cut them down and make the independent suspension axles. The pumpkin needs to be mounted upside down as drive shaft rotation on the bike is opposite of a car.
  4. I like organic on the rear, less lockup.
  5. Search rampless trailers and watch some videos. I’m considering one if the day comes we decide to haul the bike, now we just ride the whole trips. No way I’d put a heavy bike on the hitch.
  6. A couple of great Reagan-isms.
  7. Why would they adjust the valves at 5000? Way early.
  8. Are all 4 choke/enrichers closing fully?
  9. Are they seated correctly? Vacuum leaks can cause it to go high. Also check your cable routing that they are closing.
  10. Easy choice for me. Marlin 1894 .44mag. Dad bought one new in ‘75 or 76 to deer hunt with. We hunted deep woods where a 75 yard shot was hard to do so we didn’t need high speed guns. I took my first few deer with that gun and bought its twin right after high school. I can’t even estimate the number of deer I’ve taken with it. It’s just automatic that I reach for it the 2nd Saturday in November, I go back 35-40 years when it goes bang. There’s a safe full of different rifles and calibers but the first day of season is reserved for the 44. One of my brothers has dad’s rifle, we don’t hunt together often but it sure is fun to sit in a tree and hear that distinctive boom on a frosty morning.
  11. It’s crazy how different the laws are between states, in KY all you need to sell a gun is to have a gun for sale. No permit needed to buy, sell, or carry. I keep my CCW permit so I can carry in other states. Show a CCW card and no waiting to pick one up at a retailer. Our permits are weapon permits, not just guns. Switchblade, brass knuckles, saps, etc are legal.
  12. Sure am glad Carl’s wearing blue jeans in that pic, not just chaps.
  13. Regular key. I had some made at a local locksmith.
  14. Welcome to the circus, you’ve found the best place to be to keep her going.

    Engine Oil

The first engine I ever tore down was an old Chevy 350 that used the paraffin based Quaker State and probably never changed it. Trying to learn how to pull the heads on an engine when I couldn’t find the bolts was rough on an inexperienced teenager. Sludged up to the rockers and a rod thru the pan. NOW BACK TO SCHEDULED PROGRAMMING. Sorry for the hijacking.
  16. I’m not sure I want to know where they stuck those clamps on her to fly. Looks painful. 😬😬😬

    Engine Oil

I’m not much of a believer in engine flush chemicals. I have seen truck engines end up with oil pump screens stopped up after using a flush. These were high mileage engines that probably had a lot of build up that the chemicals broke loose and sucked it into the screens, but I hesitate to use it in any engines. Call me old fashioned but regular oil/filter changes are all I do.
  18. @Deeridercheck out the Hannigan trike in trikes section I just posted. Less than 30k on it. I’ll have more info on it Tuesday.
  19. I’m pretty sure the manual said the same thing about Tweeks. 🏍🏍🏍🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  20. I liked the idea of auto renewal, guess not. I just sent my $12. Thanks Don, I know this has got to be a pain.
  21. There was an ‘18 Venture posted here last year that a dealer clearance priced at $12k new. I called and talked to the dealership and nearly bought it but decided I like the water cooled V4 too much.
  22. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/topic/178-desiccant-canister/?tab=comments#comment-848 Go to home page and scroll down to the 1st gen read only section. Lots of great reading there to keep her going. If you don’t find it there post questions in the 1st gen tech and the gurus will be along shortly.
  23. I can tell you from experience that blaming anything on the wife will not end well. 🤣🤣🤣. Glad you’re ok.
  24. If I remember correctly intake clearance is .004-.006 and exhaust is .006-.008. Set them toward the higher limits as clearance shrinks with wear.
  25. Have you checked the SpeedoDRD? I have it on my 2nd gen but no experience on the SVTC.
