  1. There are several large audio plugs in a bundle inside the fairing, I would check and clean them, corrosion there is not unheard of. A little dielectric grease to keep moisture out after cleaning helps. They are cable tied to the fairing frame on the throttle side.

I’m on the list at Seasons In.
  3. The bourbon trail starts about 4 hours east of us, the distilleries I could show you around here don’t care for visitors 😜. Anybody coming in from the east of us can ride right down the trail.
  4. Done.
  5. Last time I saw Bob my wife and I went to Niagara then met at his house to ride down to Don’s MD. I helped load an air conditioner coil and a few other things in his car to deliver to members from Canada. That was the last MD he made it to.

Yeah, I need to think about a room myself.
  7. View from the lodge deck.

Looks like I’m finally gonna get to make it to one of these. Daughters move-in date was moved to the 12th so the plan is to get to Vogel midday Friday.
  9. I’ll post later with some lodging options. The state park has a lodge, cabins, and campground. There is another campground a mile away along with some fishing cabins and motels in nearby Aurora (4-5 miles). Gas and convenience store 5 miles away and town 15 minutes up the road.
  10. West Ky Rally at Kenlake State Park will be held May 19th through the 22nd 2022. We decided to move it up a couple weeks with regard to MD and summer weather.
  11. Tach not working points to an electrical issue. I’d start with checking/cleaning connections at the TCI and coils. On second thought check battery connections before that.
  12. My 1st gen was peppy when I bought it but not what I would consider fast, The fuel pump went out and I used the Mr Gasket pump, first time I rode it after that was HOLY SH!!!!!t this thing goes.
  13. The pillow tops are great, I’m 6’2” 240, 34” inseam. . You have a couple inches on me that may make a difference.
  14. Oh Boy, bubble wrap you can pop.
  15. Less than 18 hours from joining to fixed, if that ain’t worth the price of admission I don’t know what is 🤣🤣🤣.
  16. Make sure not to get fluid on the body plastic. Wash it off immediately if you do. It eats the ABS plastic.
  17. Cover all bodywork in the area, squeeze the lever and crack open the banjo bolt on the master cylinder. I’ll bet you get some air out of there, once you get it bled there move to the slave and bleed it. Air collects at the master.
  18. John Furber is the guy to talk to. The options are to put the VMax gears in your pumpkin or buy a VMax pumpkin and machine in the speed sensor hole. The FJR final is the same as the VMax, I bought one and had the machining done locally and kept the OEM final to re-install if I sell my bike.
  19. The extra labor savings plus the peace of mind for safety is worth a lot.
  20. Another thing to think about is you’re going to have it off, is it worth putting it back together with a worn tire? My thought process is replace now and you won’t have to go through it again for a while. When I figure in my labor time the cost of 1/2 a tire life becomes pretty cheap.
  21. Right now I’m running the short half of a Baggershield with an XScreen wing on it. It looks a little weird but I can raise/lower, tilt, and use it as a vent. Wife and I both like it.
  22. Are battery connections clean and tight?
  23. I don’t have pics with me but I gutted the cassette deck and used a parts store set that fit inside the deck case. It has a lighter plug and two USB ports. I kept the door operational so I can close it to look factory.
  24. I opted to use a Bluetooth 12v receiver. It’s inside the fairing and comes on with the key. It plugged into the aux plug in there. I took out the tape deck and put charge ports there. I use iPhone so I’d need adapters to be able to charge and use aux plug at the same time. Several options out there.
