Our view of the mountains on the Blue Ridge this morning. Visibility was about 40’ in front of the bike. Rained out in Tennessee, maybe make it home tomorrow
Those seemed to be the most sought after body parts when I scrapped a bike a few months ago. I am still sitting on the saddle bags, trunk, and fairing.
Read this thread before you jump in deep. There are other threads here on the same subject. Most of your list isn’t terrible to fix. Unfortunately the 2nd gear issue along with the frame makes the 83-85s a little less desirable. Hopefully the 1st gen guys will be along shortly. @skydoc_17 @Marcarl @saddlebum
plastic parts are getting really hard to find in decent shape.
There are limits on trial members posting pictures due to the site being overrun with spammers/scammers in the past. Admins spend a lot of time doing a great job keeping them out and the site cleaned up. As far as buying you need to comment on the post or message the person selling something. 87 is recommended by Yamaha. High octane fuel burns slower and builds carbon. I run alcohol free locally when the bike may set more, I can only get it in 90. On trips I stick to 87.
On MC tires I always got one front to two rears. Weight and the acceleration wears the rears faster. Now that I’m darkside I get two or three fronts to one rear.
