  1. We need some help, Joe n Bob are really worrying me. They left Robin and Debbie at the campsite.
  2. If it was uphill all the water would fall out of the lake.
  3. Snow??? Keep that stuff up north. It’ll be close to 90* here today.
  4. No pics yet but Steamer n Robin, NSA Joe n Debbie, Wiz n Tina, and Drews have made it in. Short ride for supper.
  5. Kenlake State Park has two entrances. You want to enter the East entrance, you can see the bridge from there. Go thru the stop sign and take the first left, dead ends at the Lake View Shelter. If you’re coming west on 80 it’ll be the first left after Ky Lake bridge. Going east on 80 turn right when you see the bridge. My # (270) 293-2845.
  6. Planning to leave Kenlake at 2:00 for Hannigans.
  7. Reservations made for a tour of Hannigan’s Motorsports Friday afternoon and supper on the way back to Kenlake. Lunch ride Saturday and supper at the Lodge.
  8. Mic Mutes were from Morph Industries. Unfortunately he’s out of business too.
  9. That’s correct. The only manufacturers I know of were Buddy himself and Edsets. Ed is out of business and I don’t think Buddy has built them for quite awhile. I’m using one I got from Ed before he closed down.
  10. Congrats on the find, great bikes. I’d start with fresh gas for sure. Be careful with a charger/booster, it can fry the TCI. Also WELCOME to the group. The 1st gen gurus will be around to help soon.
  11. I’ve been wondering about Big Tom. Saw expired membership.
  12. I’m really hoping things start getting back to normal this year. Of course we have the get together here, I’m really looking at Asheville if I can get away, and maybe one more trip with the wife to Florida this summer. I’m planning to retire this summer and hope to see friends again and meet new ones at any rallies we can make.
  13. Here’s a great write up of how to do it. It’s in the tech library.
  14. I’m not familiar with that shield but I base a short shield that was terrible. I’m running a Bagger shield that’s good, a couple others good also. Keep the engine up around 4K and let it breathe. The mpgs are pretty good as long as the carbs are clean and good plugs.
  15. I’ve seen an agm show great voltage until it’s hit with a load then it drops out.
  16. I think you nailed it. The first VR get together we attended was at Don’s, we spent a 1/2 hour searching for the U Turnin Spyder Ryder just to find him at the hotel snoozing.
  17. Sorry, couldn’t help myself.
  18. Not just you Nor’easter folks. I had one of my firefighters show up to work on a Harley fresh out of storage a few years ago with 12lb in the rear and the front didn’t even move the gauge.
  19. The detail I forgot was that it is his brother’s bike.
  20. The float needles and seats problems are more common than the floats themselves. Make sure they are clean and floats set correctly.
  21. Definitely carb issues, floats sticking. Check your oil level, flooding carbs can drain into the cylinders and crank case resulting in hydro locking the engine. That is the most common cause of engine failure in these bikes.
  22. I watched a V Star 1100 top a hill too fast, lock up, and blow a stop sign across a 4 lane divided highway today. He cleared the Southbound cars, one Northbound, and got t-boned by a minivan. He’ll live to tell the story but he’s banged up pretty bad. The bike is done. The rider told me he was on his way to a funeral, my response was was he was damn close to going to his own. The northbound that barely missed him was driven by a woman that lost her husband in a bike crash a few weeks ago.
  23. Hope we get to meet up again soon.
  24. Three options for the EH Team. Plenty of roadside rest areas and ice cream shops along the route.
  25. I’m working on it. August 1 should be the first day of eternal unemployment.
