  1. I went with the Clearview medium with vent. The vent blows a jet of air straight into my chest. I like it other than the height, getting ready to order a taller one. May have a deal for somebody when the taller one gets here. 100 miles on it.
  2. I use the SpeedoDRD. Works great and cheaper then the healer. I never checked the ODO accuracy before or after install, I plan to absolutely wear this bike out anyway. When it gets to the point of needing replacement the miles on me will be more important than the miles on the bike.
  3. That’s why I decided to try the darkside route, I was going through tires way too often. On MC tires I stayed away from the 404s, the labor involved outweighed the cost of better tires for me. I’m not advocating car tires, they’re not for everyone but I love em. 2 or 3 tire changes a year was too much.
  4. Not sure beyond the mess what will go wrong but the good thing is your side stand will stay lubricated.
  5. Next time around holler at me and we’ll grab a cup of coffee.
  6. I officially joined the Retired Old Fart club at 0700 this morning.
  7. I’m leaving the morning of the 17th on 80, turning South around London if you wanna try to hook up n ride down.
  8. I should get there the evening of the 17th. Taking the scenic route across KY and the Daniel Boone National Forest.
  9. PM sent
  10. Check pipe temps at the heads? Running on all 4?
  11. Check the rear shock for oil leak. Ignition switches can be a problem, easy fix on here for that. Overall incredible machines as long as they’re maintained and ridden. Keep the carbs clean, sitting long term is hard on em.
  12. I interested in the boards. I’ll be in Asheville.
  13. I’m booked at the Super8
  14. As long as you keep the pants on.
  15. Contact @eusa1 Mike Eykamp. He’s the carb guy, if he can’t talk you through it he offers a carb rebuild or carb exchange. It’s not hopeless.
  16. Guess I need to get off the fence before I get a sore crotch and make a decision. I’m gonna check on a cabin in the morning.
  17. I used a local detailer, with a little negotiation he did the interiors and ceramic coated my crew cab and her Cherokee for $1100. My dealer quoted price was similar to yours.
  18. I got out of HVAC 20 years ago and was messing with @uncledj since he’s still in it. We purged the lines with nitrogen when soldering to stop oxidation. The EPA and government got involved in trying to up the efficiency and drove the prices out of sight. Back when I started we could put the two ton in duct and all for around $2400.
  19. Gee, that almost sounds like you’re working on refrigerant lines or something. 😁
  20. Plain n simple to me is the best brisket. We get real creative on pork butts and loins. We dry rub with an array of ingredients and smoke em the same way. We never and I mean NEVER let our ribs touch boiling water like some. Now southern BBQ sauce is altogether different. Vinegar based, spiced up, and scrumptious.
  21. Low, slow, consistent temp, The mantra of southern BBQ’rs. Smoke at a steady 225* with a pan of water in the smoker to reduce the stall. Cook til 160 internal, pull it and wrap it in foil. Put back in til 200*, pull it and put in a cooler to rest at least an hour. While smoker is warming trim the fat cap to 1/4” or less, trim all other fat and silver skin off. Rub brisket with mustard for a binder, use salt and black pepper for the seasoning. plan for 1hr per pound cook time.
  22. Supposed to leak thru at a slower rate and more stable, I could see it in race cars but really see no reason on the road. I’m betting you can check the pressures from the driver seat anyway. My truck even sends a text if one gets low, no excuse for driving on low tires. I did get the ceramic coating on mine aftermarket, I hate waxing. Thinking of doing the bike next.
  23. Just to be clear, the oil is 1/2 way up the glass with the bike setting straight up? A common mistake is to fill with the bike on the kickstand.
  24. I’ve always heard this is an eating club with a motorcycle disorder, how many biker groups discuss smoking ………….meat? That being said I bought a 13lb brisket this week, throwing it in the smoker soon.
