  1. Welcome aboard, not many of us Kentuckians here. I’ll be riding thru your neck of the woods tomorrow heading back from Asheville.
  2. It was good to meet you. Hope all is well.
  3. I use a 12v Bluetooth receiver inside the fairing, plugs into the aux wire in there. I stream music from my phone. Many gut the cassette and make a small storage there, I installed charger ports behind the door.
  4. Bike is ready, packing up, pulling out 0600. See y’all tomorrow night.
  5. Good luck on the healing D.J.
  6. Thanks Mike, that was starting to concern me. 🤣
  7. Ha. Mine both did it in my trucks. I turned off traction control and pulled the fuse out of the ABS. Lots of fun. The big thing to me is they both moved away for college and I’m not afraid to let them drive anywhere.
  8. Swapped mine around today and flushed.
  9. Ha. When I took my youngest to get her license there was a man and wife to test. They were from another country here for college. He passed, she left with the examiner, 5 minutes later they were back with the examiner driving. My kids had to pass my test first that was much harder than the state’s. My kids drove in storms, on ice, interstates, and cities while on their permits. I cut too many people out of wrecks to take it easy on em.
  10. Finally got the old girl on the lift. Added load resistors to fix the LED fast flash and another new windshield. Didn’t like the medium Clearview, went XL. New plugs, brakes, fluids, Barnett clutch tomorrow and a carb synch to get ready. See y’all Wednesday evening.
  11. Enjoy the trip. We plan to head west for a big tour when the wife retires.
  12. I’ve got all new pads to install before Asheville, just haven’t had time yet. I got home from Huntsville Monday night to find we were victim to a lightning strike that took out my well pump. Got that replaced yesterday so on to a shop cleaning and bike maintenance.
  13. Almost here. Can count it down on one hand.
  14. Sitting here listening to my shift fighting a bad one. Doesn’t feel quite right, not being there to direct the fight and keep em safe. Guess they did it before me and will keep doing it without me.
  15. Welcome from the west end of the state.
  16. Not a chance I’m doing it here, they’ll try to wreck you. I got absolutely cussed out by a woman last week for stopping with my front wheel beside her rear bumper leaving me an escape route if the truck behind me didn’t stop. You’d have thought I ran over her dog or something.
  17. Remember to let her wind. If you ride it like a twin it’ll be a dawg as you said. Cruising rpms up around 4,000. Put her in second or third and bounce it off the limiter, you’ll quickly find the power. Stay out of 5th below 65 mph.
  18. Let me guess, you got stuck on a road that had a u/turn at each end and couldn’t find the exit.
  19. Don’t know what’s there after the accident but I don’t have a parts bike. Having Yammer parts Is history. 😄😄😄
  20. I might be interested in the ‘99
  21. Shop clean out. I have a set of blonde bags, trunk, and side covers if anyone needs them. Don’t think I have a key but they’re unlocked. Side covers are missing some mount tabs.
  22. I went through one per year on my 86 using lead acid. Went to AGM and got 5 years out of the last one never using a tender. Seems a little extreme.
  23. I went with the Clearview medium with vent. The vent blows a jet of air straight into my chest. I like it other than the height, getting ready to order a taller one. May have a deal for somebody when the taller one gets here. 100 miles on it.
  24. I use the SpeedoDRD. Works great and cheaper then the healer. I never checked the ODO accuracy before or after install, I plan to absolutely wear this bike out anyway. When it gets to the point of needing replacement the miles on me will be more important than the miles on the bike.
  25. That’s why I decided to try the darkside route, I was going through tires way too often. On MC tires I stayed away from the 404s, the labor involved outweighed the cost of better tires for me. I’m not advocating car tires, they’re not for everyone but I love em. 2 or 3 tire changes a year was too much.
