Carburetor modification

Scroll up to post #3 and try the link -
I’m a little late to the party but front and rear wheel bearings recently made a huge improvement on my handling.

Rear shock not holding air
RDawson replied to Eric Schomburg's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I know one leaking oil can be rebuilt, not sure about air. @dfitzbiz? -
Sorry to see this Mike.

It’s very doable but as mentioned before the prep is important. I wrapped my trailer myself after watching some YouTube videos. As with any trade work the pros made it look easy on the videos. I got the vinyl from Amazon. It looks pretty good for a beginner but I’d be unhappy if I’d paid for it, there are a few small wrinkles and blemishes.

Front brake problem

Try bleeding the master by cracking the banjo bolt. If an air bubble gets up there it’ll drive you crazy. -
Clutch fluid disappearing

The bottom bolt of that cover has a copper crush washer on it. Make sure you put one back or that bolt will leak engine oil. -
Back atcha Woody. Had to leave the bike at home due to storms but we drove thru Huntsville to pick up the younger daughter and then to Gainesville to grab the oldest. First time I’ve had all 4 of us together since Thanksgiving so a good Father’s Day trip.

Iso jack adapter
RDawson replied to mike042's topic in Links to Classifieds, Craigslist, Ebay, Sales, Etc.
No worries Earl, I have some but I don’t advertise them. Ed has been selling them for a while and I think it’d be disrespectful to sell competing products as another member. I have my foot pegs and arm rests I’m starting to push out there. I’m more about helping other members than profiting from the site. -

If Ed doesn’t have one contact me this week, I’m out of town until Monday. I’m not going to cut him out of a sale if he has one available but I have a couple of new ones. -
Strong storms killed the bike trip, we ended up driving the car instead. I put several miles on the bike Wednesday and the temps stayed down in the 120’s. Final drive was aligned at install, everything went together correctly, not sure what was going on. Everything sounded good, felt good, and it rode true. Head scratcher.

front wheel removal
RDawson replied to hunter 1500's topic in Star Venture and Eluder Tech Talk ( '18 - Present)
Don’t forget the pinch bolt before loosening the axle. -
I’m interested to see your results. We’re leaving Thursday on a Florida trip, don’t want problems.

Rode it back home and hit it with a heat gun, showing at 160*. After a little googling that seems normal.
-
May be a dumb question but I just did rear wheel bearings and a final drive seal with new gear oil. 10 mile test run and the final drive is too hot to touch, is that normal? I’ve never touched it after a ride before.

New design passenger arm rests. No holes to drill or permanent mods to the bike. Uses one existing bolt on the bike and clamps to the grab bar. $250 to paid VR members. $300 on FB. They flip up for mounting/dismounting the bike.

New final drive seal, rear wheel bearings, a lot of cleaning to get the grease off from the pumpkin seal🤬🤬🤬. AND some new sparkling arm rests for mama, my newest design.

You can find sympathy in the dictionary between sh@t and syphilis. 🤣🤣🤣
-
I’d try it on the road after oil gets through everything and the clutches get oiled well. The first symptom of an overdue oil change on these bikes is the shifting gets clunky and neutral hard to find.
-
Don’t blame me. 🤣🤣🤣 I became a believer the first time I rode in the rain. Kandi even mentioned how much smoother the ride was on her first trip.
-
I ended up ordering some on eBay.

Received and installed my new seat from Partzilla. Went for a quick 5 mile run just to feel the fit. Clicked over from the trip meter to odometer in time to catch this. Yes, miles not those little bitty km’s.
