  1. Got any closer pics?
  2. I don't see river canyon road. In the map below, we were at Canyon Mouth Park. (I was wrong on the road - it is 275 instead of 257. we talking about the same place? "http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Chickamauga,+Walker,+Georgia&ll=34.299841,-85.675592&spn=0.055873,0.074244&z=14" [ame=http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Chickamauga,+Walker,+Georgia&ll=34.299841,-85.675592&spn=0.055873,0.074244&z=14]Google Maps[/ame]
  3. There was a loose gravel sign on it last night but nothing about closed. We were thinking to take the Jeep first to see how much loose gravel. 23 miles on Gravel on a touring bike doesn't sound like fun. Thanks for the info
  4. Just curious about county road 257(I think). Leaves right at the entrance to little river canyon mouth park. has a sign that states "23 miles to Hwy 35. Not suitable for trailers, rv, semis," blah, blah, blah. What about motorcycles? looks blacktop and like it would be a blast by looking at the map.
  5. But, we look like a Harley so it confuses the crap out of everyone - should have put a wing trunk on it we could join any group
  6. I think I may have already sent a description of what we did.
  7. Just put a set of mustang seats for tour deluxe in the classifieds (Put in Royal star parts and accessories). It says 2005 on the bottom of the driver seat but, I believe they fit any of the 2000 and up TD's (maybe 99 too?) They are in pretty good shape for four years old - I noted and put pics of the scuff's and such in the ad. We got a set of venture pillow tops (Which the wife has been eyeballing for 4 years) - everytime she saw a Venture, she had to go touch the seats (she's big time happy now). http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3079&title=tour-deluxe-mustang-seat&cat=8
  8. and, do you want to sell them?
  9. but, we have a nice spot for it in the Tour Glide fairing. Their sticky tape sucks and the first one fell of and got run over but, put some good tape on it and stuck it back. (Not the prettiest but, it works) Don't have a good pic but, it's a 2.5" round with a large face - not digital though
  10. Chad was very helpful on our forklegs and mostly helpful on our ignition switch. (He would only pay for one key instead of 2 - I argued for the better part of 1/2 hour over that but finally gave in. He did at least get my 2 main concerns taken care of - both forklegs replaced and ignition switch with key that fits the rest of the bike too.(He paid to have it double cut) Glad they helped you out - (as the regional rep should have) in the first place.
  11. It's more overheating the turbo than the engine. Exhaust gas temp gauge will help know what's going on before it starts melting the seals. and, if it's an auto - you really have to watch the trans temp. burning that fluid can lead to big tranny problems. We had a 2001 with an auto - no chip - going camping for Thanksgiving several years back and it started pushing fluid out going up the mountains - it was cold out but the tranny did get hot. Got rid of that auto. RVNet really has a lot of knowledgeable folks - They are like the venturerider.org of the RV world. Look at the towing forum. I'm not trying to discourage or anything, just sharing a couple of things that I believe in (maybe incorrectly but, they seem sound)
  12. or call yamaha cust service. Dealer and regional rep refused to replace my fork legs but, cust serv. got it done.
  13. We got one of the programmers (not a puck) for our ford but the tow mode sucked eggs. had to change over to a diablo delta chip. It's in an 03 ford 7.3 with 5speed. pulling a 3horse slant with 10' LQ. total about 28 feet, 10-11k lbs. Tow mode does pull better but always worry about it overheating the turbo and would with any of them. Would go back to the Dodge in a heartbeat with no chip. Our previous Dodges had so much more low end torque it is amazing. Top end, the Ford might be just a touch better but not sure about that.

  15. Looking at their site, they fit road stars. I think your speedo would interfere big time and you would have to cut out the stereo hole to make it fit.
  16. You are closer to it - wonder if that will make your bids go faster. Just go ahead and tell me what your max bid is going to be - you may not even have to worry! If it had a buy it now, you probably wouldn't have got the chance:no-no-no:
  17. Well, we finally got almost everything together. Just picked up pillow tops and still have a little playing to do but, wanted to show it off a little. 06 Pearl White RSTD 06 Screaming Eagle Street Glide fairing custom glassed to fit around the speedo and hold the radio higher Pyle 120 watt stereo with SD/USB player 8" smoke windshield and deflectors 85 Ultra Limited Liberty edition tour pack with speaker pods Polished aluminum skirt and mounting hardware (Dirty as usual) 16" LED Combo light bar from custom dynamics on trunk 12" LED accent lights with clear lenses bottom of trunk 4-5 1/4" Polk Audios Custom paint/pearl/clear
  18. doggonit - you are just going to jack the price up!
  19. They have been very good. The dryer did come in with a door issue (was out of adjustment) - and the repairman knew NOTHING - he was an idiot who started looking at the washer to try and fix the problem with the dryer door, then warped the dryer door. Lowes replaced the dryer because it was the day after delivery. Since then, the machines have been very good - would buy them again if needed.
  20. Just the board - no rubber. (You did side riders floorboard not passenger didn't you?) PM if interested
  21. Seems there are several of us - I have all three pieces.
  22. I just bought a Harley limited liberty edition trunk for 305. Had to replace locks, lights and antennae and add speaker pods but, hinges and rack were ok and still had to paint it. So, 350 is probably not bad. I know most of the harley ones on ebay with pods and lights are going over 500 - some up to almost 1300. I have only seen one venture trunk on ebay - was from Pinwall and it was pretty high. One of these days, I will post our mounting setup.
  23. I have done it several times - it is safe. Just take care the first 100 miles and get used to it. then, don't go nuts - but I have always found that normal riding is fine (even fast - just not crazy) be careful and have a good time.
  24. How much?
